I received this book as an arc and I have to say this is my opinion and my review.

I think this is the first book I had with this particular author and I have to say that I am officially a fan almost a super fan because this book was off the chain hot it was steamy hot it was passionate hot it was burn your retinas hot had to put it down like six thousand times it had a wonderful story but it was hot the characters were well-developed I like the interaction between the main male characters and the female character and you can actually see the queen with all her merry men so to speak I love this book I think you should try it

I downloaded Queen Takes Knights as a free book from the store. This story took me by surprise with the interesting character development and story line. The world-building could take a little more work, but overall, I found this an enjoyable read. I'm definitely interested to continue the series.

It might've made a fairly good short story with the basic storyline cleaned up and pared down, but as a long story, it's redundant, bloody, and disturbing. The main scenes are extremely bloody, barbaric, and occur in the bedroom repeatedly and at great lengths.

This book was fantastic. I love the characters.

I am not a fan of such instant attraction and the constant feeding, but at least with the latter the heroine also struggled. Also the heroine is a bit childish and selfish in her reaction to not having fangs and a couple of other minor things, which did not help in relating to her. Other than that this was a great book.

She does a great job of writing hot scenes. There were things I previously didn't think were my taste but somehow she made them interesting enough that now I'm questioning myself LOL That aside, it was a great book. Not a slow burn. Even though it's a bit faster passed with the love scenes, her character development was on point so it didn't feel rushed. Well done. I would recommend.

Ok read with a lot of blood and sex. Not sure about the powers... but well, entertaining enough. An ok start up for Hamilton books.

2 1/2 stars - My biggest issue besides wishing I had been warned about m/m since that isn't really my thing. I would have enjoyed it more if they didn't already have a long relationship together and basically just wanted to up their status, position, and power so took off looking for a queen. Found Shara and wants her but surprise he still wants him just as much. Really? He has been with him for years why would he think he wouldn't. It just seemed like a lot of inconsistencies in the book she is supposed to be a virgin but doesn't act like it, she finds out she is a vampire queen and a bunch of other details but there just is never a realistic way of dealing with it or processing it to me. I mean in four days so much has happened but she loves them and seems mostly okay with everything. Just seemed to fall flat to me.

I think the idea was great and that it had some very interesting takes on vampires but I needed to feel a better connection with the characters. Will I continue reading? Possibly the second book to see if it gets better but probably not. I'm just guessing but since the title of the third book is Queen takes a Queen there is going to be f/f added in to the mix of m/m and m/f/m. So if that is your thing you may love this especially with a little depth as it wasn't all erotic scenes. I liked the depth but needed that depth in the characters and this book would have rated a lot higher.

This was great! I love the author's original take on vampires. The main character, Shara, is strong, even though she's new to the world. Her men are so devoted and loving. I can't wait to see what trials and adventures Shara and her Blood will experience in future books.

Side note: if blood (especially menstrual blood) makes you squeamish at all, this is definitely not the book for you. I found it cool that a book finally has a female vampire who actually gets her period.

WARNING: BLOOD is an intrinsic part of this story and it’s characters. If you are NOT SURE you’re comfortable with blood + sex I would recommend you step with caution into this book. If you just CAN’T stand the idea, DON’T read this book. Also, if you don't like MM scenes, there is one so... do what you gotta do.

With that out-of-the-way, I can actually go into this review and honestly, deciding what to write here was not easy. I have mixed feelings about this piece of art like you wouldn’t believe and I don’t know if my words will make justice to what I want to express but I will try.

I have read Joely Sue Burkhart series before and yes, I do mean series. I love her writing, her character development, the way she can portray things without letting her pre-conceive ideas get in the way of the words on the page. I was socked with this book. In a hell of a good way, but either way, shocked.

Like I said in the warning above, blood is everything in this reverse harem paranormal romance. A Queen Vampire and her Knights, you would think is normal there is blood involved, but this is next level stuff. ANY blood from the Queen is fair game *look you in the eyes* ANY blood from the Queen. If you get what I mean you will understand my sense of shock and gross and behind all that, pride as a woman.

Shara Isador is the last Vampire Queen of House Isador, the problem is, she doesn’t know this. Her parents were killed when she was seventeen years of age and since then, she has been on the run from what she considers vampires. Trust me, her description is just what old vampires would be described as in novels.

Alrik and Daire are two paranormal creatures that come to Shara’s rescue when she needs them the most. They explain to her a few things along the way and when she is back at her old parents house, she learns a lot, and I mean A LOT, about herself and her legacy.

I won’t go into details because Spoilers but there is plot twist after plot twist since the book starts to the very end. Some times my head was spinning so fast that I didn’t know what way was up and I questioned Shara’s mental health, as she did herself, in other occasions.

Given the chance to have a discussion with anyone about this book I would gush about it like nobody’s business. I will mention that blood + sex and the ANY blood from the Queen is fair game thing did put me off a little bit. Wanna know my secret to read this book 3 times in a week and love it: In those gross parts, imagine the blood is whipped cream that the put on her or melted chocolate *shrug* It worked for me.

The reason why I didn’t give this book a 5 Star review is exactly that reason in particular. The fact that I did say “gross” out loud and was put out a little bit, until I found my ground again, makes it a 4.5 Star read in my scale.

*I'm voluntarily reviewing an ARC copy of this book*

This book is s imply amazing. Although I am writing my review after reading all of the current books in the series. I was not expecting to fall in love with this but I could not stop reading.!! I read all of the books currently out in a few days.

Shara doesn't know but she is a vampire queen and she’s found by two powerful knights (her Blood), Alrik and Daire. I love the dynamic between these three. To be truly safe (and reign as true queen) Shara will need to add more to her Blood. It gets better and better as the series goes.

The intimate scenes are teasingly erotic.At first I was a little put off by the group is bisexual, but in the end, it is well written and a complete turn on;
If you don't like gore.. this may not be for you. It is definitely graphic - it is a major part of their love making and I loved it. These vampires are strong and act as vampires, not your average humanized versions. I love how Joely switches point of view between all three leads, seeing Shara through her blood's eyes is amazing. The dynamics of the harem are intense and make you want to live in their world.

Best RH Series I have read, hands down.

I really enjoyed this book. I love books based on legends. The story of Isis and Osiris as the original vampires has always been fascinating to me. This one also mentions the Morrigan, my favorite Raven Queen. I really love when legends cross-over. Shara was a fantastic lead female. Her spirit, her strength, her innate kindness, and her persistence are admirable. Her first two Bloods, Ric and Daire are perfect. Their strength of character, their long-held wish for their own Queen, their bond with one another (M/M), and their instant love and loyalty to Shara made them ideal.

To be honest I would have never picked it up if it hadn't been recommended to me. The cover is unpleasant to me. It is fitting and brings me to the only aspect of the book I wasn't crazy about. The descriptions about the blood turned me off. SO MUCH BLOOD! Too vivid, too messy. I thought the sex was hot but would have been even more so without all of the blood. This is strictly a personal opinion, however, if you are like me and prefer "neater" vampires, heed this warning. This is NOT your sparkly vampire story.

The story alternates POV's between Shara and Ric which was the perfect way to contrast someone completely new to this world with an experienced veteran. The complexity of the paranormal world and the vampire politics provides a wealth of potential conflicts. The fact that the five years Shara spent alone and running for survival might be easier than navigating the next few months, accepting new Bloods and trying to avoid being killed by Vampire Queens is a fascinating scenario. It will also be interesting as new Bloods appear to see how they fit in with Ric and Daire and their previous bond with one another and first claim to Shara. There are sure to be issues with jealousy and power. I look forward to the next part of Shara's story.

When it comes to reverse harem, I'm a hard sell. I like the concept, but too often the execution is just domineering alpha male x 10--the woman ends up being a toy, and nooooope. I decided to take a chance on this book because it's on Kindle Unlimited, and I'm glad I did.

This book somehow avoids all the bad reverse harem tropes, while adding in a healthy dash of female dominance and, shockingly, boundaries. It takes a lot from the Black Jewels universe and its concepts of queens and courts, but reimagines them in a totally different way. It's really refreshing to read a paranormal romance that's explicitly about female power instead of the usual cop-out of the Mary Sue. Don't get me wrong, I love me a good Sue--but too often Sue powers are used to substitute for actual agency and the men keep all the power. Leave the MPDGs in Fitzgerald, thanks.

I also LOVED that they Burkhart addresses periods. They're usually the big (red) elephant in the room in vampire books, and she faces them head on--addressing the gross factor, the societal shame factor, and, finally, what it means for vampires. Meyer's got nothing on this.

Incredible world building! The ties to mythology and half forgotten legends are fantastic! Just the research that went into this series is worth the price of admission! Shara is on the run from monsters! She knows it is tied to her blood but not why! When she is saved from certain death by two very large men things get weirder! Shara is a Vampire Queen? She knows she has had a hunger but not for blood, at least she did not think so! From here the story snowballs into a hot sexy action packed rollercoaster ride for dear life! Under constant threat she must call more Blood's to her for protection! Plus they must find a nest. To top it all off she is being called by two powerful creatures that may not have her best interests in mind!

I found myself holding my breath more than once in this book! The characters are strong but do make mistakes that help them grow! The story moves along at a breakneck pace always keeping the readers eye on the prize through every twist and turn! I was actually surprised when the book ended! My only thought was MORE PLEASE!!!

I enjoyed reading this book. It was recommended to me and while I will say I was a little surprised at the m/m relationship, I quickly got over that. Now, onto the book. I feel like it is wonderfully written, from different main characters points of view. Every once in a while I had to go back to the beginning of the chapter to remind myself whose point of view I was reading the story from... but, it the story kept me interested to finish the entire book in 2 days. I have already started reading the second book in the series.

Main character learns that she is not what she thought she was all her life, then is thrown into even more chaos in the matter of a few days... but her protectors are there for her helping her and guiding her throughout the transition. But.. I love that she is a strong woman in her own right. it is such a different story than I have ever read.. I must know what happens next.

I am so happy I came across this RH series! I was getting a bit bored with vampire stories as they seem to be the same, but this one is definitely not like all the others.

First off, it’s a vampire based series and true to form it is bloody! There is no dainty sipping going on between Shara and her harem, so be warned that if the sight/talk of blood makes you a bit queasy then read at your own risk. For me personally, it was wonderfully messy. I mean, they’re freakin vampires. Why on earth wouldn’t it be primal and fierce?!?

It’s funny how many times I passed this series over, because as soon I started book one I couldn’t stop until I read all three (that’s how many are currently out). Seriously, this is finally a vampire series that fits my expectations of a true vampire!

I found this book by accident, drawn to it because of the cover. I have been searching for a new series, something different and bold. I am glad I clicked on this book. The story was is intriguing and the world she has created is wonderful. The vampires are not all social graces and sharing a bite for blood during sex. This book shows an animistic version of vampires that I found refreshing. Shara is a strong heroine who doesn't shy away from danger or stand back once her knights come to her aide. She wants to protect them and love them as much as they want to do for her. I look forward to the next installment and finding more about Shara and her Blood. I fully recommend this book if you're looking for something a bit different than the traditional vampire romance.

I liked it. I'm glad I went ahead and read the next book in the series, because this book was really just the introduction and (mostly) erotica with a focus on fetishizing blood. Because blood is not my thing (it doesn't wig me out, but it doesn't flip my switch either), I really wanted more story to the book - which I got in the next book. This book was setting the scene, setting the tone, and an introduction of the main characters. If the idea of blood-play wigs you out, this book is not for you. It remains a large theme even in the second book. If you're iffy on the idea, but intrigued about the plot (like I was), then I suggest you read through book two before you decide if this series is for you or not. The plot really begins to thicken in book two.

Shara is 22 and has been on the run for the last 5 years after watching her parents be murdered by monsters. She understands she has this strange sense of powers but doesn't realize that she is actually a vampire, let alone a vampire queen, until while surrounded by these monsters she prepares to slit her own throat when these 'knights' come to her aid. They explain what she is and aid her in her return to the life her parents had kept her from to protect her until she was ready to take her place as queen. Bringing more men into her fold.

This story is a reverse harem romance with a lot of blood and hot sex, mostly at the same time. This story was so intriguing I couldn't put it down. This is also my first PNR that addressed periods and bleeding around vampires.
This is a very erotic romance with interracial coupling in addition to same sex.. well, sex. It's not about LGB relationships, but more of a mutual need and some orgies.

Ok. Vampires are so prolific in romance now that I usually yawn and move onto the next potential read. I’ll even skip a blurb as soon as I read the word, because ugh more vampires.

This one I picked up because it was recommended (both rhapsodized about and completely reviled) by members of the RH group I joined for my latest reading addiction reverse harem. (I abhor the name, btw. There has to be a better term than RH!)

I was amazingly thrillingly happily surprised with the vampire twist. It claims to be dark but I think it’s more grey personally. That could just be me, though. I’m odd. There’s lots of blood and if that’s a turn off or a trigger then pass on this one.

But it read realistically. If you are a creature who lives on blood and whose magic is in the blood you share, then it’s gonna be pretty central to your life.

Overall. I’m grabbing the next two and will devour them in the next 24 hours. LOVED IT!!!

I read the few poor reviews about blood and thought it was a simple complaint and the only complaint about the book so I decided to try it. I was so very surprised. Truthfully, I couldn’t put it down. The sex was explicit and the blood was strange but I have to say the writing was great. The author tells a great story with no editing errors!!!!! The characters are developed and interesting. I wanted to know what was going to happen. I read it in one day and went to the next book. I truly enjoyed the “weird” story and will absolutely read other books from this author. I definitely recommend this book if you are in the mood for strange mixed with sex mixed with a well told story.

Seriously, this series is TO DIE FOR! Be forewarned; do not read it if you have an issue with graphic sex and sexual situations, blood (lots of blood) and polyamory—and all three together! Shara is such a wonderful heroine, she blossoms from Book One to Book three. Her Blood (her consorts if you will) are all unique, and amazing! They each bring something necessary to her, and her life! This take on the vampire mythology is spectacular! JSB REALLY delves into the mythology and truly gives you a new twist, that is so detailed and in depth that you BELIEVE it! I eagerly await Queen Takes Rook, and honestly wish I could have a few Blood of my own *wink*

When I first read the synopsis and saw the cover I was interested enough to put it on my TBR list but it kept getting skipped in favor of other reads. Finally after seeing it recommended yet again in one of the many reader groups I belong to I finally decided to take the plunge and I'm really glad that I did!

Be warned that this book has a lot of blood in many scenes. If you can handle this then, once you take the plunge like I did, you will be thrust into a new world and way of viewing vampires. I guarantee you've never thought of it this way. So if you're like me and was a bit hesitant on reading it go ahead and chance it. You'll love it!

So in case the cover doesn't give it away, this book is bloody. Seriously: squeamish people beware. I'm not usually, and this even made me shudder a little. Which honestly, I loved. It's hard to find books that surprise me, and this one did several times. It was freaking amazing, and led to me not sleeping so I could finish book two as well. I really hope this is one of those super long series that goes for years because I need more!

Wow. This book was all kinds of sexy.

I don't typically read menage, but I think I will start after reading this. The story is about Shara, the last heir of Isis, who does not know she is a vampire queen or filthy rich or needs hunky vampire guards (called Blood) to protect her from other vampires and their enemies, the thralls.

I really liked Shara. She's headstrong and refused to let the men fight for her. Her two Blood are sexy as hell, and the sex scenes were unbelievably hot and amazing. Lots of blood and biting, so if this bothers you, you may not want to go any further. But...wow. It's pretty damn cool.

Looking forward to book 2.

I just adore my dark books! The darker the better. This one falls at a medium gray on the darkness scale. And I love it (=

The beginning is a little slow and not really a lot of action action but then again, it is a book that is less than 200 pages long so.... given the length, the plot and character depth was pretty impressive. Now, while there was definitely blood involved, because I mean... vampires, there really wasn't a lot of gore and absolutely no torture. Hence the medium gray. Anyways, there is intrigue!! Oh my!! And it's not completely predictable!

Can't wait to read the next book!!!

I've never read this type of series before, male on male, male on female, female on male lol but I absolutely loved it. Was kinda short for my taste but it was full of everything i would want in a paranormal series, very different from other vampire series. I loved the world the author is building and the characters are great. It was panty melting hot and the cover is amazing, the cover drew me in instantly, it's one of a kind and not a bare chested man(to many of those around). I a downloading the next one right now.

i stubmbled onto this series by accident but i am so glad I did! Absolutely phenomenal!!! I could not put this series down! I read all 3 books in under 3 days because for the life of me I could not walk away for 5 mins. I just finished the 3rd book and literally jumped for joy when i neared the end realizing there was a 4th book to come. i hope to God that this book series never ends! I know eventually it will but I'm hoping it's about 10 books deep before it does! Sexy, sultry well written and the writer gives you a perfect image of the characters. Can't wait for the next one and the next and the next!

I had kept my expectations very low for this book. I have read some amazing authors who write about similar things. Reading from this author for the first time I was truly amazed.
The vamps in this story are unlike any I have read, the writing is really good and the characters are very different also easy to love. I'm definitely hooked. It's been so hard to find a book this great. It has a bit of action and a lot of heat between three characters. There's a bit of M/M which I loved and a bit of two on one. It's hot and I never lost interest. Can't wait to read more!

I picked up this book literally sometime around midnight and I could not stop reading it! The cover intrigued me at first and I hoped so hard that the story would be entertaining at least. It was that and MORE. As someone who easily reads 100 books a year, it's been more difficult to find books that are addictive, unputdownable reads--especially a vampire paranormal romance! But trust and believe, this book had compelling story-telling, engaging characters, and a satisfying ending that makes me just want to read more about this world! I totally don't regret not-sleeping, and will likely fantasize about this storyline throughout my work day today, LOL!
Bring on the next book!!

I had no idea what I was getting into when I picked this book up. Someone mentioned it in a readers group on FB and I read way too much for my own good so I gave it a whirl. The cover is pretty clear that it was not going to be for the meek. Wowser! This book surprised me. It's well written. The bedroom scenes have some very unique twists that make you really think about your boundaries. It's hot. Like sizzling hot. I woke my husband up at 2am that's how hot it was lol. Not everyone will enjoy this but if you have an open mind, love vampires, and reverse harems this book just might be up your alley.

Absolutely amazing Rh series. I loved Shara and her blood. The author's writing style is so good. I never knew sex could be written almost like a poetry. There is lots n lots of sex throughout the book, but it's never redundant. Every time it's exciting, hot, steamy filled with love and the same time. I have never read a series quite like this. It's so beautiful and soulful. I have no words to express how beautiful the writing. I would read anything this author writes. Amazing, exciting, stunning. I cannot wait for the next book!!!

Okay, so, first of all I was excited because being in a relationship with two who aren't afraid to express their love for each other is my dream. But what really free me in and made me feel that I could relate or daydream about this lifestyle is that THE MAIN CHARACTER IS OF AFRICAN DESCENT. It is so rare to find fantasy/science fiction that have characters of different ethnicities let alone the main character. The story itself takes a bit to get used to because blood is cringey but I dig it...a lot. I can't wait to see what's next. I'm really looking forward to Share getting more female individuals in her life

So my friend Deanna has been raving about a lot of reverse harem lately, a new trend/trope in the romance community, particularly with indie authors. It seems that most of these stories are written in the young adult and new adult age groups, but I wanted to give it a shot and see what all the hoopla is about. The Their Vampire Queen seemed liked a good and steamy place to start, with each book being a quick read of about novella length.

Shara Isador grew up not knowing what she was or anything about her heritage. All Shara knew was that she was in constant danger, and both of her parents died protecting her. But when two handsome strangers come to Shara's rescue one night in the middle of Arkansas, it begins an enlightening and awakening for Shara where she will learn her true nature, potential, and power.

So - I had a few feelings about the story. I really liked the premise and the potential set up for the series going forward. I liked our first two heroes, Rik and Dare. I liked the rock troll and the warcat. I liked the potential vampire politics that we may have going into future installments of the series. I liked the smutty sexytimes and the strong protective males willing to defer to their queen.

There were also some things that I did not like. This is a short story and everything happened really fast... like really fast. The story literally took place over 2-3 days. So that doesn't leave much time for world building or plot development or falling in love (instalove on steroids). I felt like many of the details which would have interested me were glossed over, particularly with world building and the Egyptian mythology. Also - the blood. It seems like this story was written for people with a certain kink, namely blood play. Because nothing with blood is off limits. It got to be a little much for me. Finally, I felt like sometimes the writing was a bit immature and crass (i.e. "do you want fangs or d---?"). Erm... that doesn't work for me.

Now, I know that our heroine is only 22 years old. But the female narrator of this tale sounds like a teeny bopper most of the time. Hearing her narrate a sexytime scene was awkward at best. The male narrator did a good job, even with the female parts. So I would like to see him narrate more in the future.

I will continue on with the series, because people rave about this one and it has a high rating average. I am also interested in the premise, so I hope this one improves as we progress further.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this audiobook that I received from the publisher, Tantor Audio.

I have to say I absolutely loved this book. I could not put it down and stayed up till about 3am until I finished the last page! It was a little on the short side for my taste, but it made up for it by being so intriguing. I’m usually not a vampire fan because they always have the same concept, but this book took it to a whole different level. The sex scenes are super steamy, but extremely bloody and I mean cover the room bloody! This book is a must read and I can’t wait to see where the series goes.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
I loved this from the very first chapter. Very hot and steamy with the promise of more to come and I am looking forward to it!!! I really loved that this was not your every day run of the mill vampire or shape shifter style paranormal romance. They can be over played or hard to follow and understand if an author is trying to create something different. With this author however, she did an amazing job in my opinion on creating something very different, hot , sexy, funny and intriguing while still being able to have some easily recognizable vampire traits.

Shara has been on the run from demons ever since her mother was murdered right in front of her eyes. She knows she is different but she finds out she's a lost vampire queen and the two men who save her are supposed to give her blood and anything else she needs. She finds out some things about her past that make her question everything. Throw in some really hot vampire sex with two sexy men and call me hooked! Can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Awesome, this story is so well written I love the sex scenes, which for me is unusual. In this book the sex and blood go perfect with the story. Characters are well developed, great adventure and totally smoking sex scenes. Honestly could not make it through some and if the written word can do that to me, it's exceptional and very rare.

This book was really really good... The story was really interesting and keeps you hooked. The love was swoony and hot hot hot. I thought I would be turned off by the blood play but it is so wonderfully written it takes away the squeamishness. Daire & Rik are so amazing and devoted to our lovely Shara. Shara is thrown into this world but still is able to be tough and not afraid to take what she wants! GREAT read!

A different perspective on vampires. Instead of the same boring story line about vampires, this author changed it up, and made vampires almost completely different. I love this book.

When I accidentally stumbled upon this book I was immediately captured by the cover. Vampires?! Reverse harem?! Count me in! I devour almost any reverse harem book that I can find and this one is everything I love about the genre, and so much more. The way Joely Sue Burkhart writes draws me in and takes me on such an amazing visual adventure. The love and connection between Shara and her Blood is so amazing.

Shara Isador starts out as a frightened woman hunted by "monsters" as she calls them at first. The adventure begins there as two vampires, Rik and Daire come help her destroy the monsters and tell her who she really is. She finds out she's a vampire queen and needs vampire men to keep her protected. There's a ton of sex and lots of blood involved but it doesn't feel like it's too much or not needed.

I couldn't put it down and I've actually read all the books except for the fourth two times. I highly recommend this book and the whole series.

Overall the story was good. It is well written, though the beginning felt rushed. Editing was well done, and the plot was consistent. The sex scenes aren't overly convincing, and the writing there feels a little forced.
Overall, a good read, and I will continue with the series, though at this point I doubt if it'll make my re-read list. Perhaps that'll change as the story progresses.

This is an amazing first book in the series. So much character development. Although this is reverse harem I am happy Joely focused on two of the men in this book without introducing more and more while the main character is still wrapping her head around being a vampire queen. It's not at all rushed and there is so much plot development. I really loved this book and I can't wait to read more

Shara has been on the run since witnessing her mum being murdered by monsters, tired scared and lonely she prepares to battle the monsters when 2 men arrive and save her, and reveal some truths about who and what she is

The story is terribly excitIng and I was glued to the page. With great characters and an awesome storyline I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am excited to read book two

Queen didn't know she was queen, but she is a cool character smart and adaptive. Queen quickly takes consorts. Interesting setup. Vampire queens are few and far between. Each queen is like a country. She needs an army for protection and to assure her claim. So she gathers consorts. Book one starts like a good romance. But just wait. The story and the writing get better.

Now, this is a vampire series so obviously there is blood. There is LOTS of blood. So, if you're squimish about blood and periods this is not for you. I personally, at first was like "I don't know if I can handle this" but honestly these books were very well written that it was easy to see pass it all. To say, that Joely did an awesome job is a severe understatement. Read this book. You'll want to read the next and the next!

I adored this book. To begin with there is something about blood and lust and sex that has always just done it for me and this story takes the same old vampire thing(which generally speaking is so over done) and makes it something totally new and unique. I genuinely adored it (if the long ass run on sentence didn't already give that away). I'm diving into the next book right now!

This is the first time that I’ve read anything by Joely Sue Burkhart and I got to say she is awesome at weaving her story!
Queen Takes Knight was amazing and I definitely look forward to reading more of this series!
So yes I most definitely recommend this book because I thought it was fantastic!

This an intriguing story, have never read anything like it. I am glad that I read some of the other reviews before starting to read the book because there were parts that dealt with the main characters period and though slightly off putting it wasn't anything that made me want to stop reading the book. I have read the rest of the series and the storyline builds up really well.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Just looking at the cover and you know this book will be bloody. I didn't know I was going to be absolutely turned on by this bloody good time of a book. Shara is a survivor and she proves there isn't much that can keep her down. She has been running from monsters for years but now that she has found two of her blood, her men, she no longer needs to run. I can't wait for the next book!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
I'm hooked! Joley's creativity and relationship building are top-notch! She couldn't have possibly written and chosen better men to start Shara's harem. They are HOT and wholly dedicated to serving their queen. I love how dominant Rik is... yet how submissive he's willing to be to his queen. Rwarrr! Same goes for all the guys... but definitely with her Alpha in book one!

SOOOOOOOO Goood everything about this series it good Queen Takes Knight is the first of 4 books and it will make you forget all of your other obligations as you are sucked into Joely Sue Burkhart’s world. Shara Isador is bad ass. She may start out a little innocent but she is quick to adapt to her new life. So Hot this is MMFFM+ so if guys and gals and more guys aren’t your thing this is not for you. BUT if you are an equal opportunity lover and don’t mind reading some of the most sexy loving scenes that include some guy on guy, girl on girl, guy on guy on girl on guy... ok you get the point its a big ple of loving.

First time ever reading this genre (I tend to avoid anything vampire’ish) but I have been blown away.
What an awesome read…never thought you could make sucking blood oh so sexy! The book pulled me in from the beginning and kept me going with the suspense of Shara’s backstory.
A truly awesome read and I can’t wait for the next book!!!!

This was an ARC

Wow that was unexpectedly different in a good way. I loved the way the author created this vampire world. It’s so different from other vampire books. I don’t want to give anything away but this book was great.

I really like the story line its a different take on vampire story. This book snags your attention and doesn't want to let go. I enjoyed Rik, Shara, and Daires Personality and interactions with each other. Waiting impatiently for the next book.

I'm intrigued...this was not what I expected...and not because it's RH. I'm used to RH but this storyline was different! I really, really, enjoyed it.

I can see why some people don't like this. It's dirty, filthy, awesome! But not for everyone..I get it but come on...this series will be great!

This book has all the dirtiness someone needs. This book is wrong in all the right ways. This book is not for the weak minded. You have to have your mind open to read it, but I loved it. Call me a freak at nature but it was just hot!

Sexy and VERY vampire-ish read with lots of blood and all as you can tell by the cover. Butttt don't let all the blood discourage you this book is super sexy and erotic and you will love every minute in this reverse harem. So far there are two guys but I know there will be more and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆
A bit gorey and crude in some places. It also felt very short even though it was a full novel. Like much story didn’t happen. I never felt a peak in the story, I’m assuming it was when the bad guy was eliminated but at the time it didn’t feel like that was what the story had built up too. It just plateaued.
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆
This was super steamy and a definite page-turner. It's mostly from the female main character's POV, but it does switch back and forth to the guys when they come into the story. I liked the characters but didn't totally connect with them. I'd recommend this for fans of dark PNR.

I liked it. It was bloody but guess the cover makes that pretty clear. my biggest issue was he relationship between the two knights, didn't feel that should have continued once they found her. I'll read the next book.

I feel like I have been searching for a book like this forever. Vamps with a unique magic system, thoughtful heroine who is not whiney. Rh. And does she need a man (or men) to keep her safe? F no. She has made it this far. But it helps, right? I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book and I'm off to check out more of the authors work.

This series of books was the best I've read in a really, really long time. Right on par with Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake and Meredith Gentry series'. Awesome awesome books. Was hooked from the first one and read all five books in the series in 2 or 3 days, just could't put it down.

I've read all the books so far, and quite frankly I am hooked. Maybe even obsessed? (In a good way). I read all the reviews before checking this series out, and I was not disappointed at all. It's written very well, and (Spoiler alert) that it switches from Shara to the others flawlessly. This whole series needs to be made into movies (one movie per book, please).

Anyways, if you're looking for a well written, steamy, edge-of-your-seat series to dive into, I highly recommend this!

While vampires seem to be becoming more and more common with less and less originality Shara and her world are a totally new concept that is well written and empowering to women.

This is the first book I’ve read of this author, but it won’t be the last. I like a story that grabs you and won’t let go. Queen Takes Knight does exactly that. Shara seems a bit flat of a character yet at first, but the story builds and get history becomes clear, and you will fall in love.

Wow!! Went on to read the whole series and ended up with a lot of sleepless nights because I simply couldn't put them down. This is, hands down, my absolute favorite vampire book of all time. It is everything a vampire story should be. The very definition of epic. I am completely captured by these books. I can taste the love and fear in all these books.Things do get very messy with the blood but even though i never have read books with so much blood lust, it makes this series jump out and makes your own blood pump faster. And EVERYTHING in this book even the blood is all contributed to love. To give someone all of your self even down to your last drop of blood is total acceptance of each other body soul and mind.

This was my first book by this author. I usually avoid MMF books because I want it to be all about the h. Through his thoughts, one of the male MCs makes it clear the other male is just as important. This didn't ruin the story but I didn't love it. Also, the story was too short to feel like I really knew the chatacters or the world by the end. Since this is a series, most likely this will be rectified in future books. The great thing about this work is that it isn't the same tired vampire lore but instead a unique world set up in a way I haven't seen before.
