A not so guilty pleasure. Prince falls in love with a waitress. Stuff ensues...until happily ever after happens. The end...except theres a sequel.

The story was definitely familiar, as it made me think of Diana's death. I loved the quirky comments made by all of the main characters. I caught myself smiling a lot while enjoying this story.

I loved the Tangled series, but thought this book was terrible. It was corny and predictable and very shallow. I don't often say this, but felt like a big waste of time. Will not read the others.

This book is painful to read. The inner dialog of the antagonist is just awful. He's a disgusting ass, and the heroine isn't any better. Cheesey lines. No depth to any of the characters. This book is just stupid.

I am a huge Ms Chase fan. I have read and reread the Tangled series and Legal Brief series a couple times. This book was such a let down. Her other series make me laugh out loud and are pretty hot. I thought maybe this book was a YA book. It took me forever to read it. I thought Nicholas was a jerk to Olivia most of the time. The overall story seemed to corny to me. Nothing like any of her other books at all. Hopefully the rest of the books in the series pick up.

As little girls we were introduced to all of the romantic Prince Charmings. Our first romantic fantasies revolve around Prince Charming. We are princesses waiting for our prince to sweep us off our feet and ride into happily ever after. The years go by, we become mature women that look at the world with different perspectives. Our dreams and fantasies have changed due to maturity and life experiences. Deep down inside we are still those little princesses pursuing our happily ever after. Emma Chase has delightfully fed our "prince charming" fantasies with a mature and entertaining rendition of Royally Happily Ever Afters. Prince Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crown Prince of Wessco, has all of the princesses lined up, hoping for a chance to become his queen.

Nicholas has been ordered to marry by his grandmother, the Queen of Wessco. It will be good for the country's political issues. It will save the monarchy. She has given him five months to find a bride. She has also given him another impossible task, to rein his younger brother, Prince Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, in and bring him home to Wessco where he belongs. Prince Henry is on a party crusade, making it his mission to engage in debauchery and life in the fast lane. He is currently heading to Manhattan and Nicholas is tasked with bringing him home. Although Nicholas hates traveling to New York, he sees it as a reprieve from the Queen's first command. He fully intends to take a few notes from his brother's journey and enjoy the last five months of bachelorhood.

Prince Nicholas drunkenly stumbles into Amelia's Coffee House in Brooklyn, New York, he has no idea that his bachelor days are over. Proprieter Olivia Hammond, a snarky New Yorker, has more than just great pie. He's willing to pay ten thousand dollars for a night with her. When she blatantly refuses his generous offer, he counter offers five thousand for a kiss. What he gets is a verbal lashing, the check, and escort to the door. No woman has ever turned him down. This makes him even more determined and intrigued with the beautiful pie maker.

Thus begins the courtship of the Royal couple. It's a beautiful whirlwind romance until reality barges in. Prince Henry is out of control and gets himself in hot water. The Queen has summoned both Prince's home. Nicholas is determined to take Olivia with him and keep her by his side until his five months are up.

Olivia has to decide whether she wants five months of pure happiness or spend the rest of her life regretting every missed moment.

Either way, both Prince Nicholas and Olivia Hammond are Royally Screwed. Romance and Royalty don't always go together like the fairytales every girl dreams about.

Emma Chase has once again delivered an outstanding swoon worthy romance. The combination of humor, vulnerability, romance, and extraordinary characters make Royally Screwed the perfect adult fairytale .

I can't wait for Prince Henry to receive his royal decree in the upcoming book in the Royally Series.

I bought this book because I love Emma Chase's Tangled Series....and I'm so disappointed. Nicholas and Olivia seem like great characters, but Emma Chase breezed through that and concentrated on the sex scenes. I'm not even sure why the couple ended up like that. The story lacks depth. Even for a rom-com book.

Throw in a dash of Pretty In Pink and a pinch of Fifty Shades and voila you have this story. Oh yes and don't forget the 1970s historical romances this is reminiscent of. I'm a huge Emma Chase fan. She's an auto buy for me and a drop everything and read it now! But this book doesn't meet her usual standards, IMHO. It's just been done too many times in too many different ways-and this book encompasses all of them. Not my favorite but I have high hopes for book 2 in this new series. Sorry but you set the bar high Emma.

Emma Chase first made me fall in love with an outrageously arrogant, hilariously sarcastic investment banker. Next she introduced me to a group of type-A, highly competitive yet entertaining lawyers, and I lost my heart all over again. This time she’s granted every girl’s childhood fantasy: a royal fairy tale complete with dashing princes, castles, and a dour queen.

You see where this is going, right?

Oh yeah. She did it again. Royally.

I fell totally in love with the story and the entire cast of characters, all of whom are unique and highly entertaining. Nicholas is the perfect blend of entitled arrogance, sarcastic wit, and sexy charm. Olivia is the epitome of a fiery New Yorker who tells it like it is, even to the prince who’s used to everyone fawning over him, especially women. She’s strong, unwavering in what she wants, and the perfect foil for Nicholas’ commanding cockiness.

The secondary characters are outrageously funny and extraordinary in their own right, leaving me wanting more of them. Book two will feature the wild antics of Prince Henry. I almost feel sorry for the unsuspecting heroine whose life is about to be turned upside down by the endearing prince. But I need more of the remaining characters too: Olivia’s sister, Ellie; her friend/employee, Marty; Simon & Franny, Nicholas’ best friend and his wife, who I might just have a girl-crush on. Seriously, they’re so real you wish you could hang with them. The only downside to creating a fabulous supporting cast is that they deserve their own stories too. Hint. Hint.

Royally Screwed is filled throughout with wicked humor and sexy times hot enough to singe eyebrows. The beginning is fun and exceptionally romantic, almost swoon worthy. But the last half left me breathless. I loved it, and can’t wait for more royals.

Get Royally Screwed now! You'll enjoy every minute. Then, if you’re new to this author, treat yourself with her Tangled and Legal Briefs series.

It pains me to write this because I absolutely love all other Emma Chase books. I started with the Tangled series and was enchanted by the wit and wonderfully developed characters in that series. Drew is one of my all time favorite male characters, he's flawed and cocky but sweet and hilarious as well. And his heart beats for only one woman, Kate. And she is a strong female character. She can be vulnerable but she has a backbone and knows her worth ultimately. So I was SO excited about this new series! And honestly I am disappointed. It doesn't seem to me to be written anything like her other books. The characters in this book are just shallow and they felt underdeveloped. Olivia is just a whiney wet blanket/door mat who let's pretty much everyone walk all over her- her family, Nicholas, Nicholas' grandmother, Nicholas' royal peers and her ex boyfriend. I kept reading and hoping for her redeemable moment where she stands up for herself but sadly it didn't come. I mean there is a moment at the end where you think "yes! She is finally going to stand up for herself" but then when you read her POV it's all about how sad she is and how sorry she feels for herself, how she hopes she might be pregnant so she has a reason to talk to Nicholas (pathetic)....and this is after all the nasty things Nicholas says to her and accuses her of! Sorry, its okay to be sad but seriously- she should be angry and have some dignity! Nicholas makes disgusting and demeaning comments about her to another man (supposedly this will prevent this other man from taking an interest in her...uh ok wtf?). Then when Olivia confronts him because she overheard, instead of sticking up for herself she says she wants to leave,he says no, she says she 'll walk to the airport and then....yeah.....she takes a bath (huh?) gets drunk (huh?) and gets a little speech from a supposed friend about how what Nicholas said was actually to protect her (ummmm what he said was so insulting that if he cared as much as he said he would not have been able to let anyone believe those things about her). But it doesn't matter because he doesn't really say sorry instead they just have s$x and all of it is swept under the rug (yeah none of Ms. Chase's other female characters would have put up with that!) Then...THEN to add insult to injury, the next day is when Nicholas accuses Olivia of selling his secrets! It is not true but Nicholas doesn't really try that hard to figure it out before he yells accusations at her and the leaves deciding he should get drunk and passout...because that's the way royals solve problems in this book I guess. He has no care for how Olivia might be feeling at that moment in a foreign country all by herself or what she does after he leaves to get drunk. Until the next day when he apparently feels infuriated she left after he treated her like trash. So yeah, Nicholas is a disappointment and Olivia even more so. I read other reviews and I find myself wondering if I read the same book?
And I am really conflicted about even continuing to read this series (not something I thought I would ever say about a book this author wrote!). Henry and Simon and Franny were pretty decent and were part of the reason this book got 2.5 stars. Its well written but the story is a 2 star story full of clichés with the ending being the biggest cliche of all. Sigh.....

Plot: Olivia is a young New Yorker trying to keep her family's coffee shop open and make time for a social life of her own. After an awkward encounter with Nick, a visiting foreign prince, she finds herself in a life she never knew.

Lucky for me Royally Screwed was a quick read because I was not feeling it. I'm used to a lot of sass and sexy times in my Emma Chase novels. There was a lot of sexy times and it was fairly entertaining, but the heart just wasn't there. After having a chance-encouter, Nick and Olivia started dating pretty quickly and were met with almost no obstacles. Their relationship was too easy and everything became too routine too quickly for me. Chase has made me laugh out loud in public before, but I never felt the hint of a giggle while reading Royally Screwed - in fact, it felt like I was watching some E News or Bravo scripted series. Just....meh.

Characters: Olivia was an honestly good person who just needed to catch a break. I loved her dedication to her family and how she easily came to their defense, but other than that, she didn't have much going on for her. I was actually kind of taken aback by how quickly she agreed to go on a date with Nick, they didn't meet under the best circumstances.

As for Nick, he was portrayed as the "serious" one becuase of his title which made him...boring. Royally Screwed was told from alternating perspectives and I swear Nick's chapters were just about getting in Olivia's pants (like 60% of the time). I actually started skipping over those sex scenes because they were so frequent. Have some fricking character man!

I was also disappointed in Royally Screwed's supporting cast. Usually, the secondary characters become just as endearing to me, but here they were decoration. The most interesting character was Marty, Olivia's best friend, who was a whole other problem. Marty was Olivia's gay black Jewish friend and he was just too much. He played the role of the gay best friend by serving as Olivia's fashion guru, discussing all the hot guys he masturbated to, and also delivering those witty one liners at opportune times. He was a stereotype.

Nick's friends and family weren't as extreme, but they were hardly interesting. Prince Harry Henry was the wild one who had a bit of a story arch, but then quickly returned to being the wise-cracking party boy that he was portrayed as earlier in the book.

Worldbuilding: Royally Screwed took place in two locations, New York City and the imaginary Wesco. Wesco's history was explained early on in the book and was somewhere either within the United Kingdom, or nearby (can you tell I paid attention), so it was really easy to picture Nick and co as English. I didn't particularly care for either location because Emma Chase didn't make good use of her settings. Admittedly, I felt more attached to New York, but maybe that was because it was a real place.

Short N Sweet: Royally Screwed was a bit sloppy, but still entertaining. I highly recommend picking up Tangled if this author is new to you.

Royally Screwed is full of heat, humor, and heart!

From the beginning of this book I was hooked! I was a little apprehensive about the "Royal" aspect of the storyline but the author delivered a fantastic story. I thought the first meeting between Nicolas and Oliva was hilarious! It was just perfect! It set up the pace for the rest of the book. I really loved Oliva as a character! She was strong, sweet, and stood up for herself. And Nicolas was a hot prince! He had his moment where I just wanted to yell at him but he pulled through and did the right thing.

I thought the story was well written and had a good pace to the story. I didn't want to put the book down! I really enjoyed Henry, Nicolas's younger brother. He was hilarious and I am looking forward to what he might bring in future books. Overall, this book was amazing! It was funny, but sweet, with a side of drama and a lot of hotness! I highly recommend this book!

Nicholas is heir to the throne of fictional european country Wessco. His parents died many years ago and now he only has his brother and grandma Queen left. And the paparazzi. They are the most important people in his life. Ever since before he was even born. They're everywhere, all the time. As soon as he's seen with a girl - they're already speculating about the wedding...
But even though Nicholas is very interested in partaking in everything the female world has to offer - he is SO not ready to get married.
But Grandma Queen is SO ready to get him married to save the royal family's reputation. He has five months to find the perfect princess - from a list of suitable girls of course.

But first he's off to New York to find and bring home his idiot little brother. That's where he meets her.
Olivia. A typical New Yorker girl fighting to stay alive with her family baking business. So not the right choice for a future King.

But the prince's d*ck, errr, heart wants what the prince's heart wants. Only Olivia is so not impressed by his royalness - at first.☺☺☺

OK, yes, I know. The whole royal prince and princess cinderella thing has been romance-noveled a billion times before. And most of those times in those little thingies your great-aunt buys while waiting in the grocery store check-out line... But we all love those stories. We all want to be the princess the prince risks everything for. And this was just such a story. Not old-fashioned at all, like you would maybe expect.

ROYALLY SCREWED was a really adorable and funny and sexy and beautiful love story. It even makes us cry a few times!

We have this adorable & sexy Prince and this cute down-to-earth New York girl. Two people from two very different places in society.
But opposites attract and all that. Olivia and Nicholas are just perfect for each other.
Of course it takes them a while to realize that themselves. And it takes even longer to accept it and be accepted by everyone else.

But we have a lot of fun on the way to their Happily Ever After!!!
We have an amazing cast of siblings, best friends, strict Queens and adorably ugly dogs... Perfect casting and location director! ☺
I think I have nothing to complain about!☺

►►► ROYALLY SCREWED was an amazingly adorable first book in this new Royal series! FUNNY, SEXY, ADORABLE & MOVING! Run to your nearest the store for your own dose of Prince Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook! ☺

...and now please Emma...HURRY... I WANT HENRY'S book asap!! He was one of the highlights in this first book! He'll probably take a few years off his granny's life in the next book!☺

“Fame is a strange thing. A powerful thing. Usually it ebbs and flows like a tide. People get swept up in it, swamped by it, but eventually the notoriety recedes, and the former object of its affection is reduced to someone who used to be someone, but isn’t anymore.”

“Nicholas presses his mouth against mine. Possessively. Boldly. Like he owns me. And in this moment he does.”

“The downside of responsibility and duty is that it gives you tunnel vision–you don’t see the big picture, the options, because the options were never yours to have. You see only the track that you’re locked onto, the one that takes you through the tunnel. But every once in a while, even the most dependable trains jump their track.”

I absolutely loved and adored this book. This book is exactly what a modern fairy tale should be. I fell in love with the characters and the story-line instantly and could not put it down. I actually had to force myself to slow down and savor this book; it was that good.

Royally Screwed pulled me in from the very first page and showed a very realistic look into what it would be like to live the life of a royal. Where despite the fact that you’d love to do what your heart desires, there is a conflict, duty before your own wishes. Where making the right decision is not always an easy task….

Prince Nicholas was everything you could ask for in a royal and more. He’s sexy, cocky, and confident. He is used to always getting his way and what he wants. And Olivia is about to give him a run for his money. Olivia and Nicholas couldn’t have come from more different backgrounds, and I think that is one of the things that intrigued Nicholas. Olivia was hardworking, loyal and sacrificed so much for her family, proving once again, just how different she was from the girls Nicholas was used to. However, Nicholas didn’t make the best first impression and even though he stuck his royal foot in his mouth and should have left well enough alone, he couldn’t get Olivia out of his head. She was just so different from all the other girls. She didn’t want a piece of him because he was royal and she didn’t bend at his will. She was sweet and honest. She was exactly what he needed. And let me tell you, the chemistry between these two was intense. You could feel the sparks almost jumping off the pages. I couldn’t get enough of the two of them and couldn’t wait to see how their story would end.

Royally Screwed is incredibly well written and is probably my favorite “royalty” story that I’ve read to date. This story was so much more than I expected. It took my heart and just ran away with it. The characters and story-line were just so much fun, it was impossible to not get caught up in the story and just fall in love. Royally Screwed was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of humor, angst, drama, romance and swoon worthy moments.

I think this series is off to one amazing start and I can not wait to get my hands on the next book in this series.

Utterly addicting!!! Emma Chase’s ROYALLY SCREWED was everything I imagined it would be and SO MUCH MORE! Be prepared, like all Emma Chase novels, once you start, you will NOT be able to stop! Get ready to BOW DOWN to his royal hotness!

Emma Chase is switching the genre up with a little royal romance! All I can say is…SHE NAILED IT! I was engrossed with these characters right off the bat…primary and secondary characters alike! I’ve been waiting on pins and needles ever since Emma announced this new series, and when I received an early copy, I was just over the moon! Ms. Chase’s special brand of hilarious and sexy romance brings me to my knees ever single time.

ROYALLY SCREWED, book one in what’s to be one of my FAVORITE series, was charming, romantic, funny, and sexy! We immediately dive into a world of riches and responsibilities, where a prince is forced to find a bride. Not just any bride…there are quite a few stipulations to that. But first, he is tasked with bringing his wayward brother home. This is where he meets the feisty and beautiful Olivia. Their first meeting wasn’t ideal, but once Nicholas sets his sights on something, he will not let it go, and he wants to see Olivia again…preferably in his bed. Not knowing who Nicholas really was, Olivia held her ground and was not going to be won over by a cocky, gorgeous man with a beautiful accent. She has been her own hero for as long as she can remember. She doesn’t need a white knight. Prince Nicholas is persistent and eventually breaks her down and they start a journey that is beautiful, easy, and passionate…until it’s not. Nicholas still has an obligation to his country, and unfortunately, Olivia does not fit the bill, but he is not walking away this soon. He will have her in any way possible, but is Olivia ready for the same? Can she stay in his bed, while his ring is slipped on some other woman’s finger? Is the risk to her heart worth it if she’s never felt this way before? Royalty is forever…or is it?

GAH! I just get the tingles every time I think back to this story. As soon as I read the last page, I wanted to start all over again…experience this type of magic all over again! Ellie, Marty, Harry, Franny, and Simon. All of these characters took my heart and ran with it. This modern-day royalty romance has made me fall head over heels with all of them! This new world that Emma has created, is sure to overwhelmingly please every romance reader out there. Simply magical in ever single way.

"If you were told that the world as you knew it-life as you knew it-would end in five months, what would you do?"

Royally Screwed is the enchanting new story of a young modern day prince who falls in love with a waitress from New York. While visiting the states, Prince Nicholas drunkenly wanders into a pie shop where he meets Olivia, a beauty who doesn't recognize him and spurs his advances. Armed with wit and a sharped tongue, Olivia is at first appalled by the handsome foreigner. But when he keeps coming by, she can see that there is more to him than she initially thought.

The two embark on a whirlwind romance, but Nicholas has royal obligations and Olivia needs to help keep her family together. But both of them have fallen for each other, and must decide whether or not to hang onto what they have, or let it go forever.

This book was SO. MUCH. FUN! I'm not normally one for sweet and fairy tale like romances, but this one swept me off my feet and kept me entertained until the very end! I loved reading about Nicholas and Olivia and their beautiful love story. Not once did it feel like instalove for me, and I found myself laughing out loud while reading this book and at other times wiping away rogue tears.

If you are already an Emma Chase fan, you will love this book. If you haven't read one of her books until now, you will be charmed by this one and will beg for more.

"When he shines on you the whole world is shining."

Prince Nicholas of Wessco has been given a royal order by his Queen Grandmother - get married...SOON. The only problem - she has to be of noble birth and a virgin lol. Turns out there are only five women in the entire country that meet the requirements and he doesn't want any of them! On a wintry night in New York, he meets what he wants - an American commoner who smells like the pies she bakes in her family's struggling coffee shop. It's a dream come true for all of us raised on Lady Diana Spencer and Kate Middleton, but it turns out the royal world isn't fairy-tale like at all.

I've always been impressed with the author's ability to get into the male POV - Nicholas wasn't an arrogant character like the Tangled lead, so he was far more likable. He was just torn between love and honor. He's a bit of a brute sometimes bellowing and ordering people about, but he loves Olivia and discovers it quickly - very little angst on his part. Olivia is very relatable in her fish-out-of-water way. She wants to stand up for herself in public but doesn't want to embarrass him or his family. Within the royal walls, she does stand up to him and I applaud her for that.

It was a very quick, sweet read with some steam. Quality writing as I expected from this author, and once again very good attention to detail for the secondary characters - can't wait for Henry's story as well as Ellie's.

Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook… Charming, arrogant, handsome … Prince of Wessco and next in line to the throne.
Olivia Hammond is just trying to keep the family coffee shop afloat when one snowy evening, Nicholas shows up. She doesn’t know who he is, only that he’s something of a jerk and instead of falling for his offer she throws a pie in his face.

Nicholas is enamored with the girl who doesn’t give in to his every whim and persistence finally pays off when she agrees to a date. But there is more working against these two then they could have ever imagined. Nick is only in NYC for the summer to keep an eye on his irresponsible brother Henry and bring him home, but when the time comes for them to head back to Wessco, Olivia and Nick can’t seem to say goodbye.
Oh… I didn’t mention that the Queen has decided that Nicholas must also choose a wife… and Olivia is not one of the names on the list no matter how deep they fall for each other.

I think what I love most about Emma Chase books is her male point of view writing… It all started with her Legal Briefs series and has continued here. Don’t get me wrong, her female characters are so fun and relatable and another reason I love her books, but the guys are just so wonderfully written, and there is no shortage of them here … from Nick to Simon to Henry I just liked them all so much!

Another thing Chase does incredibly well…. Building the connection between characters. I loved watching Nick and Olivia get to know each other and bond over shared loves and losses. These two have incredibly different lives they are leading, but they understand the stress and weight of responsibility they are carrying.

Oh and the sexy times… *fans self* I mean seriously these two were incredibly hot… and like bunnies but in a totally good way.

I can’t end this review without talking about Henry because he is such a wonderful part of this story too. The bond between Nick and Henry was just lovely and a great way to introduce us to him prior to his story coming in the second book in this series.

Of course there is drama… Olivia arrives in Wessco completely unprepared for the life of the royals… from the paparazzi to the public scrutiny to the bitchy ladies all vying for the attention of Prince Nicholas, she has a lot to learn, and thankfully she has the help of Simon’s wife Franny who I loved getting to know.

So everything is NOT smooth sailing and with the end of the summer coming quickly, and the end of their relationship on the horizon, they struggle to keep things on just the physical level and then comes the heartbreak…

But never fear! Chase will mend your broken heart and Prince Nicholas will make your heart melt and all becomes right with the world!

If you are a fan of fun, sexy, romance with some not so typical royal men this is the series for you! I absolutely loved Prince Nicholas and can’t wait to find out more about our bad boy Henry!

There are many things in my life which I enjoy, 2 of which are: 1 - A good romance book that leaves me with all the feels and 2 - A Hallmark movie with the ability to suck me in with all their HEA and predictable goodness. You know what I'm talking about I mean it is one of the most watched channels from November 1st to January 1st with women. It's hands down my favorite "TV season" of the year. I cannot help myself, I ALWAYS fall victim to their sappy predictable plot lines with perfect happily ever afters because who doesn't love a good love story? Well, Royally Screwed gave me the best of both and completely made my week! I knew even from the first page I was going to devour this book in one sitting and absolutely love every minute.

Nicholas is the Crowned Prince of Wessco and as perfect as that sounds, it most assuredly has its disadvantages. Other than Christian Grey, I don't know of anyone else who requires women sign a NDA prior to sex. Then there is the fact Nicholas truly has no idea if people aka women want him for himself or for his money and power. Then there is the pesky detail of having very little say in whom he is going to marry. Love doesn't really matter because if said woman is gong to be queen there is a huge royal check-list of requirements, each of which she must meet. So basically he has a crown, tons of money, and a tiny bit of power but essentially no true say in the direction of his entire life and unfortunately that's bound to effect his level of happiness.

Enter Olivia Hammond; loud, hardworking, blunt, New Yorker. Olivia had no idea who Nicholas was when he walked into her pie shop, but it was certainly one of those defining life moments she isn't ever going to be able to forget. She challenges Nicholas and empowers him to be the person he wants to be, to be the best version of himself. Of course he can only spend at most 5 months with her before he must return to his reality, pick a woman who meets all the royal requirements, marry her and produce and heir.

To make the most of their short time together he whisks her away to Wessco and his Royal life. Needless to say the Queen isn't happy and will not budge - responsibilities are just that and as far as she is concerned love or not those responsibilities must be met. What will happen? Can love conquer all?

This book was pretty much perfection for me. It has everything I love, nothing I hate and even a few twists and surprises! Royally Screwed was the perfect amount of humor, drama and heart. Job well done, Emma!

Royally Screwed is a modern day fairytale with charming characters and witty banter in true Emma fashion. The story will sweep you off your feet but the scandals and atrocious behavior of the royal court will have you shaking your head and laughing out loud. This was such a fun story and yet the love story was nothing short of magical.

There were some big shoes given my love for Emma’s other men, but I think Nicholas did an excellent job of wooing and winning me over. I had my doubts for sure given his complete disregard for social norms where commoners are concerned. It was humorous to watch him speak candidly and somewhat condescendingly as the Crowned Prince of Wessco and equally amusing to see Olivia fuming over his barbaric remarks and promptly put him in his place. Their banter was entertaining and I loved every minute!

This was the perfect read for my otherwise hectic daily life and I enjoyed the escape into the land of princes and princesses much like my childhood days. I loved this story and I am anxiously awaiting the next installment in the series.

Overall Rating: 5 Magical Stars

I've enjoyed some of Emma Chase's novels. But more recently, I've been 0-2 for her. I've seen several of my book friends enjoy this book and some who hadn't. Instead of being the romantic comedy I expected, ROYALLY SCREWED ended up being a erotic sex fest void of the sweet story and the charismatic hero I'd hoped for.

When Emma Chase's readers pick up one of her books, they are expecting to meet an outspoken and hilarious male lead who falls for a woman not afraid to challenge them. Usually, this is combined with a really compelling story and, sure, peppered through are steamy scenes. This wasn't what happened here.

This Cinderella-like plot where the everyday girl meets a real life price appealed to me and I like it when it's done well. There were a few things that kept me from enjoying this. First, the author did little with the formulaic plot to make it unique. Second, the characters were forgettable. Lastly, the romance was developed largely through far too many explicit sex scenes that had me asking, "Is this a romantic comedy or erotica?"

The basic storyline here isn't entirely new, which is fine. Tropes are kind of like the framing in a house, a starting point. I wish the author would have done more to this story to make it more distinctive and memorable. Here, the royal family and its tragic past seems to mirror the British royal family, down to the death of their beloved mother and princess.

Even though some of Chase's heroes are caricatures and overdrawn, I can at least laugh at their humor and the predicaments in which they find themselves. Nicolas wasn't funny to me at all. He lacked the normal magnetic charisma found in some of Chase's other male leads. There was very little development of his character from beginning to end. In fact, it was Olivia who had the balls here and forces him to do the right thing. As I'm writing this review, I can't really tell you anything compelling or memorable about Nicholas or Olivia, other than they both like to have sex all the time.

I'm no prude. I don't mind a good steamy romance novel, but when I read Emma Chase, I am largely expecting funny and steam, not a book filled with sex scene after sex scene. When the characters weren't having sex, they were thinking about it. If I had to listen to Nicholas discuss his swollen member one more time, I was going to scream.

Emma Chase writes every little girl's fantasy with a dirty twist, but this book was too problematic for me.

* I purchased the audiobook myself.

A real Cinderella story. What makes this different though is that Olivia never knew who Nicholas was. On their first meeting she smashes his face with an apple pie. She didn't hold anything back. She treated him like a "normal" guy. That is what he loved about her. Yes he had responsibilities to the Crown but with Olivia he was free. He didn't have to pretend or act a certain way. He could just be. She didn't treat him (once she found out) like a prince and someone who was untouchable. She was never phased by his title. She knew that they could never be together forever since she had no royal blood but she went into their relationship knowing they just had a short time together. She knew not to involve her heart. Nicholas went into it knowing that they only had the summer. He didn't think of what would happen after that. They just enjoyed each other. As long as they both knew this relationship had an expiration date they were fine, or were they?

This book is a definite must read. 5 stars are not even close to what it deserves. What is boils down to is the love for his country or the love for Olivia? Which would you choose?

I was so pleased and ultimately thrilled to receive this most incredible sexy, hilarious and most delicious book, Royalty Screwed. With this exciting romantic series, Royally One written by my much loved author, Emma Chase. I adored this most exciting adventure into the life and love of Prince Nicholas!

I rather just adored Nicholas. Always he felt so different from other growing up, but slowly he realised he was famous. From his birth he was well known. And after the death of his parents, things were never the same again. But still he was just the same as us all. He was a Prince. Whilst he met up with his Grandma Queen Lenora, she insisted that he would travel to New York to find his brother, Prince Henry who is actually rather immaturely there, especially when he now not isn't in the armed forces anymore. Nicholas has to bring him back home at once!!

I was so impressed and enjoyed this fabulous sexy romance. I just loved every part of it and could even once put it down. Well done Emma Chase. I just love your amazing books. I can't wait now for the next one as well!!

* I recommend this book to everyone!!

“She has no idea who I am … Her ignorance is rather…thrilling. There are no expectations, no hidden agendas, no reasons to pretend – what she sees is what she gets. And all she sees is me.”

Royally Screwed was exactly what I needed this week. It was crazy fun and made me laugh constantly! I loved Olivia and her no-nonsense attitude. She would flirt and play with Nicholas, but she didn't put up with his crap. I think it made him appreciate her more in the end.

Nicholas and his brother Henry were genuinely good people that cared about their country and its inhabitants. There is a war being fought in the background (there aren't too many details given about it), but it does impact Henry in a big way. There were a few darker threads to this story, which were unexpected but really added a lot of depth to the characters. It made them feel more real. Their pain and struggles, despite being royalty, were raw and honest. Nicholas mentions at one point that they have to be men worth fighting for. They're in a position to help people, so they need to do whatever they can to benefit the lives of others.

I really enjoyed the relationship between Olivia and Nicholas. I don't think she truly understood his position in life until she spent some time with him in his country. There were no expectations when it came to what he could offer her, Olivia was just happy with what they had and wanted to enjoy it while it lasted. I also liked that she wasn't a catty girlfriend even if she did have sparks of jealously. I can imagine all the comments being directed at her just for being in a relationship with a prince.

This is going to be random, but I also loved Nicholas' personal security team. They are people I would want to be friends with, and I'm hoping the next book in this series is about one of them and Olivia's sister... fingers crossed.

Steamy sex scenes for the win!

In the end, Royally Screwed kept a smile on my face and was a joy to listen to. The audiobook was absolutely perfect! The voices really matched the characters and made their stories even more believable. Someone was reading this book recently, and I want to thank you! If I hadn't seen it on your blog I wouldn't have started it when I did.

Warning: this book will make you crave pie, so it might be a good idea to have some nearby! Halfway through the book I started making an apple crumble (not really the same thing, but close), haha. I just couldn't help myself!

I read the second book in this series as an ARC and absolutely loved it. So when my e-library acquired the audiobook, I was eager to see what I missed. I have to say I'm glad I read Royally Matched first. This book was good, the writing was great, the characters likable and well developed, and the romance sweet with some heat, and yet...

I think this was a case of good book but not enough to set it apart from other contemporary romances. I was hoping for the quirky characters who had me laughing out loud. When I found myself more intrigued by a few of the secondary characters, I had to admit Nicholas and Olivia simply failed to capture my attention. The pacing was steady, but with the lack of characters or a storyline that stood out, I was a tad bored at the start. Things did pick up past the halfway point, but it never left me clamoring for more like Royally Matched.

As for the audiobook component, the narrators were very good. I thought both Andi and Shane embodied the voices of the characters very well and kept an even, upbeat rhythm throughout the book. It's always nice when narrators deliver the accent/dialect the characters are described having, so I was very pleased that held true here.

Typically, I'm the type of reader who likes each book in a series to be different enough that things don't get repetitive. So I feel a bit bad complaining that this author delivered precisely that- a different vibe and distinct characters. However, Royally Screwed just didn't measure up to my expectations after Royally Matched. That said, I'll likely read the third book from this trilogy to see what Olivia's sister gets up to.

A story about a prince and a commoner falling in love is fodder for romance bookaholics like me and I get exactly what I'm looking for in Royally Screwed. That and so much more, actually. Reading this novel made me realize how much I missed the author's writing and her unique brand of romantic comedy storytelling. We have Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward, the Prince of Pembroke and the next in the royal line of succession to the throne of Wessco after his grandmother the Queen passes. He does what is required of him but has his own bit of fun too. He likes being able to do his duty and the dirty and has no intention of settling down anytime soon. However, his grandmother has other plans. With Parliament grumbling, making plans to make the monarchy nothing more than a ceremonial sovereignty, the Queen is making plans of her own. It's time to bolster support for the royal family, and what better way than to have THE wedding of the century? Whose wedding, you ask? Why, none other than Nicholas's, of course. But first, Nicholas has to get hold of his younger brother Henry, who has been making too many headlines for his bad behavior in the U.S. Who would have thought His Highness would find love across the pond in the form of one Olivia Hammond. The single, beautiful, captivating Olivia...who is very much not a royal...

Nicholas and Olivia are the perfect pair. Sure, she may not have any royal blood flowing through her veins. Heck, she's not even a blue blood or from any peerage, but love doesn't take those things into consideration, especially when it's the real kind of love. These two were a hilarious pair, and while I know there are readers who readily compare them to Emma Chase's original laugh-out-loud couple, Drew Evans and Kate Brooks, Nicholas and Olivia are in a class their own. It's difficult NOT to fall in love with these or their story that's more fumbling than fairy tale-like. I dare you not to cheer them on as they try to find a way to that much anticipated and hoped for "...and they lived happily ever after." This could have been handled several ways, but I so love the direction that Emma Chase decided to steer this tale. And while their story was such a fantastic read, this works impeccably well as a series starter, introducing readers to a host of recurring characters plus those whose own love stories will be told in the next two full-length novels. I totally get why the author said that she couldn't help but fall in love with all the characters in the Royally series. I adored Royally Screwed, which I'm giving five-plus stars to, and can't wait for book two! ♥

Emma Chase is now a new favorite author of mine! Royally Screwed was my first novel of hers that I read, and it will definitely not be the last. I absolutely loved the storyline and characters she created and how she brought everything to life in a spectacular way. Emma’s writing style was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed reading every single page of Nicholas and Olivia’s story. It has been a long time since I’ve read a Royal-inspired novel, and Royally Screwed definitely renewed my love for this trope.

Nicholas and Olivia were amazing characters and I honestly couldn’t help but fall in love with them and their story from the very beginning. They were both extremely likable characters, and even though they had their moments of stupidity now and then, I loved reading every second of their story. It was interesting, intriguing, and most definitely entertaining. I loved reading the book from both of their points of view, and I was very glad the author told their story that way. I can tell you right now that I would not have loved this book nearly as much if it had only been told from Olivia’s POV. The secondary characters were wonderful as well and were quite the lively bunch. They definitely made the book more interesting to read and added extra life to the story. I also loved the abundance of romance and humor the author wove throughout the book, and thought she did an excellent job with every aspect of Nicholas and Olivia’s story. There were plenty of surprising moments throughout, especially towards the end of the book, and I was extremely pleased with the conclusion. To say I’m excited to read Henry’s story in Royally Matched would be an understatement. I honestly can’t wait to get my hands on his book!

I’m not sure how I can go on to read another book after having finished this story, which to me was nothing less than PERFECTION!!! This story utterly and completely swept me off my feet!! Emma Chase has been a favorite of mine ever since I read ”Tangled” and each time she releases a new book, I can hardly wait to get my hands on it. I’m just going to say it - I think Royally Screwed is Ms. Chase’s absolute best work so far!! She brought to life one of my childhood fantasies within the pages of this enchanting book!! Move over Drew Evans, there’s a new book boyfriend in town and he’s sure to sweep many a reader off their feet!! Prince Nicholas Pembroke will be melting many panties and hearts within the reading community!!

Prince Nicholas Pembroke of Wessco has been living the life of a playboy for quite some time. He’s the most sought after bachelor and the ultimate fantasy of women all over the world. But Nicholas is about to be delivered an ultimatum by his grandmother, the Queen of Wessco. Their government is in near chaos because the state of the economy is dwindling and the citizens of Wessco are in an uproar. Most want to take away the power that the royals have over government affairs. The Queen and some constituents are demanding that Prince Nicholas should marry soon, and according to custom, she must be of royal lineage or a born citizen of Wessco. He’s given five months to select his bride and announce their engagement. So what does a man do when he’s forced to do something that goes against every fiber of his being??!! He takes off for New York City, where he plans to live his life to the fullest during the last five months of his freedom. Nicholas never imagined that he’d end up meeting the one woman who would completely capture his heart and own his soul.

Olivia Hammond runs her parent’s coffee shop which hasn’t been doing well since the tragic death of her mother several years back. Her mother’s death left a lasting and devastating impact on her family. Liv’s Dad turned to alcohol to numb the pain and basically left her and her younger sister to fend for themselves. Being the dutiful daughter, she took over running the business and also managed to take care of her younger sister. With all of the responsibilities she has had to shoulder, her love life has been non-existent since her senior year of high school. She’s about to get so much more than she bargained for when a handsome and intoxicated Prince stumbles into her coffee house one cold winter's night. Nicholas doesn’t waste any time pouring on the charm but he inadvertently sticks his foot in his mouth which ends up putting Liv’s defenses up. The next day when Nicholas wakes up with a killer hangover his friend informs him of what a supreme douchenozzle he had been and it spurs Nicholas to seek out the woman whose striking beauty and fierce attitude, he just can’t seem to forget.

Nicholas and Olivia soon get swept up in a whirlwind romance and when duty calls for him to return to Wessco earlier than planned, he asks Olivia to come with him. It takes some convincing by Nicholas and her little sister, but after she’s assured all will be taken care of at home with the coffee house, Liv is off on an adventure of a lifetime with her sexy Prince Charming!! As you can imagine Liv will meet some less than friendly people who will treat and view her as a gold digging whore and then there are some who will see her for the truly genuine and beautiful person that she is on the inside and out. Nicholas and Liv are becoming to mean so much more to each other and as their five months are almost coming to an end the question is – can they walk away from each other when the time comes?

You know that feeling you get when you fall madly in love with a story and its main characters, and you just don’t want it to end???!! That’s how I felt reading this one!! I want so much more of Nicholas and Olivia. I loved the epilogue but it left me wanting to get more of these amazing characters!! I know that there are two more books in the works, and I’m just hoping maybe Emma Chase will write an additional novella??!! One can hope anyways…right??!!

What a fun and sexy modern fairy tale come true! I really enjoyed this story about Prince Nicholas Pembrook of Wessco and New York waitress, Olivia Hammond. It's playful, yet emotional, and had me hooked from the start!

Nicholas and Olivia both feel bound by family obligations and responsibilities and are going through the motions of their lives. A chance encounter sets both their worlds spinning and on a journey that neither of them expected. Their start is rocky (and hilarious), but as they let the other in, they find in each other, that missing piece from their lives. A comfort and happiness that neither has ever known. When the drama of expectation and obligation rears it's ugly head, readers are thrown into an emotional upheaval just like Nicholas and Olivia. The story is told from both of their points of views and it helped so much to heighten the pains and joys of our hero and heroine. Yes, the plot/outcome was fairly predictable, but the angst and drama along the way made this an emotional read at times. I enjoyed it so much that I listened to the audiobook as well and let me tell you, Shane East was incredible. He really brought Nicholas to life and had me shedding tears in some of the heavier scenes. Definitely recommend the audiobook for this delicious read! The epilogue was perfect and I am excited to continue on with this series. Bring on Henry! ;)

On the surface, this story sounds like a typical Aristocrat falling for the shop-girl trope of the highest order. Set in modern times, you’d think this will easily end well considering how times have changed. I didn’t expect much as I had never read this author’s work before.

I was completely surprised on two fronts:

a) the author’s story – it was completely delightful, humorous and complex. The characters were well rounded and multi-layered and the world building was excellent. I laughed so hard at the humour I embarrassed myself in public. But then, on a train, I struggled to hide my tears of emotion. How did that happen? I cared for – no, LOVED these characters. I did not see the story going where it did. I loved it; and

b) OMG, I highly recommend that you experience this novel through AUDIBLE. It was my first time hearing Shane East - he brought the voice of Prince Nicholas to life. It was the most exquisite reading, characterisation and accent. The experience was totally Swoonworthy. Andi Arndt portrays Olivia’s voice. As usual, she was superb (already a fan of hers). Both narrators are the voices of the protagonists in all three books in this series (all stand-alones), and frankly, it has been such a double whammy pleasure to hear these narrators and experience the wonderful stories of Emma Chase.

There are 3 novels to this ROYALLY series and one novella (book 2.5). I read them in the following order: 1, 3, 2, 2.5. I thoroughly enjoyed them this way.

Funny, romantic and seriously steamy with a unique, realistic, chemistry-filled, fun, sweet, sexy love story that absolutely captivated me. I was literally squeeing with glee, and bouncing up and down in my chair while I read. This is Emma Chase at her best, I absolutely loved it!

Prince Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook is the next in line to the Royal crown of Wessco. ‘His Royal Hotness’ is a favourite of his people (and of the worldwide media)- confident, gorgeous, and charming, he carries his responsibilities well, hiding his wicked sense of humour and keeping his bad boy tendencies far away from the watchful eye of the public. The man is used to getting whatever, and whoever, he wants, but while on a visit to the United States he meets his match in Olivia Hammond – the first woman he has met who doesn’t fall at his feet. Challenge accepted.

Olivia is a hard-working girl, trapped in a seemingly never-ending monotony of running her family’s coffee shop. She has no idea who Nicholas is when he enters her store, but he doesn’t make the best of impressions – even though he’s the hottest man she’s ever seen with an accent that makes her knees weak. He offends her, she shoves a pie in his face, and that’s the end of it. Until he comes back - asking for forgiveness and turning her world on its head.

Oh my God, I cannot express my love for these two enough. Individually, they are fantastic characters, but together they are absolutely sensational! Every moment of their relationship is full of chemistry and even though their situation is unique, there is a feeling of reality about them together – I could feel everything that was happening between them and it felt so right.

From their initial flirtation, to the exhilaration of exploring their chemistry, to falling for each other and acknowledging that what they have is something spectacular, I relished every single moment of this love story as Nicholas and Olivia give themselves over to everything that is developing between them, and I fell in love right alongside them.

But every romance has its ups and downs – imagine the added complication that royalty brings to the equation! Nicholas has a life that Olivia can only imagine, including royal responsibilities, security detail, constant scrutiny by the press and public, a playboy younger brother who has no intention of calming down his party lifestyle, and a stern, feisty grandmother determined to marry him off to a member of the aristocracy. With their lives being so different, and with Nicholas’ responsibilities threatening to crush everything they have found together, how can they ever have the happy ending that they both want so badly?

This book is a wild ride of fun, flirting, totally hot (and slightly dirty) sexy time, love, and the dramas of family and a life of responsibility. And it’s all absolutely brilliant. The love story is passionate, intense and fun yet still plausible, the drama is well written and (again) very plausible, and the side characters bring so much to the story – I loved the dynamics between the characters (the Queen Prince Henry in particular were a highlight), and Nicholas and Olivia’s siblings and friends are an absolute riot!

I also really love the way the royal life was written, and that we get to see the ‘other’ side of the story which I imagine is all too accurate. I thought it was handled really well by the characters, and by Emma Chase in telling her story, and the love story intermingled within that world was wonderfully done.

I cannot gush enough about this book. I devoured it, I was captivated from start to finish and I want to read it all over again! I can’t wait for Henry’s book up next.

5 massive stars!

I have not enjoyed an audiobook more this year than Royally Screwed. It was one of those audiobooks that causes you to take an extra loop around the block before pulling into the garage just so you can listen for a few more minutes. I found myself excitedly shooing my family out of the kitchen just so I could do the dishes. And I took my daily walk without fail - even when it was raining.

It goes without saying that the story was magnificent. It's everything every girl with even a fraction of romanticism in her heart loves - a prince falls in love with a common, ordinary American girl (and a brash New Yorker to boot) and whisks her away to his foreign castle to wine, dine and screw. And, like every good story, the relationship is doomed to fail from the beginning. Seriously, it was perfect.

But, the real icing on the cake for me was the narration. Shane East doesn't have to fake his foreign accent. And I love Andy Arndt's other work (she's great in Meghan March's Beneath series). Together, they made this story come to life. Truly - their performances were brilliant, and they made Olivia and Nicholas seem so real for me. As much as it killed me to wait until the end - because, honestly, if I had read the book instead of listened, I know I would've been done in 24 hours or less - the wait ended up being as much fun as the actual story.

So, let's talk about the story for a moment. I love books that have no clear path to an HEA. And this was one of those. Nicholas is forbidden by law to marry any woman who is not some sort of royalty. It would've been trite to have Nicholas easily alter the law or to have someone dig up an old relative of Olivia's that happened to be royalty. I'm so glad Emma Chase chose to not go either of those routes.

Instead, what we got was a book with this mounting tension that built and built as you moved toward the end. As Olivia and Nicholas go from New York to Wesco and spend month after month together learning secrets and habits, they fall so desperately in love. We're talking serious swooning here. Since Royally Screwed is in dual POV, we get to hear both characters' thoughts about the other and the moments when each realizes they're... screwed.

They can't be together, yet they can't be apart either. And it's that impossibility that made this story so wonderful. Because I knew Emma Chase wouldn't let me down. But, I had no idea how she would pull it off either.

I didn't miss the set up for Henry's story, which is next. Nicholas' adorable younger brother's book will be no less amazing, I'm sure. Is it 2017 yet?

I’ve had my eyes on an Emma Chase novel for awhile. But it seemed fate was always working against me as whenever she would have a release, I would have a backlog of reading to get done. I own several of her books but for some reason they have sat on my kindle. Sad, I know!! But With Royally Screwed, I was like, THIS IS IT! I’m am not letting another Emma Chase release get by me!!! NOT THIS TIME!!! Oh lord have mercy I’m so glad I put my foot down! I freaking loved this book!! LOVED IT!! I’m not always into RomCom. I am a lover of dark and gritty romance but a girl needs to lighten it up a every so often and this filled my black heart with just what I needed, Prince Nicholas!! Oh hell yes! He was sexy, a dirty talker, and everything a girl looks for in a dashing young prince! I wanted to eat him up!

What can I say about the Prince! He’s all the gentlemen he is supposed to be but he has a naughty side behind closed doors. Due to his countries laws, he must marry as he is next in line for the thrown when his Grandmother passes away. He knows what his duties are but when he’s never had a steady girlfriend, let alone be in a relationship with anyone of the women he knows or has an occasionally sex with. They are good for one thing and its not a long term relationship. He is the senseible one where his brother is more the rebel and when things start to get out of hand with him, Nicholas is sent to bring him back home. Little does he know if will be bring something more back home than he expected.

Olivia… I just loved her!! She was the true New Yorker that doesn’t take crap from anyone. Gotta love a girl like that! She works in her family coffee shop making pies. She is the thing holding her family together. The night Prince Nicholas walked into her coffee shop she couldn’t have guessed that by the end of the night he would be propositioning her for a one night stand. He has a bet with his friend that anyone can be bought. But being a New Yorker, she doesn’t take his bait, no matter how much she could use it to help keep the business a float.

There is something about Olivia that captivates Nicholas. He keeps going back to the coffee shop and convinces her to go on an actual date with him. Their chemistry and banter was phenomenal. They have a whirlwind relationship but like all good things, Nicholas time in New York is coming to an end. He must convince Olivia to come with him back home. It seems like things are too good to be true. Their relationship is too easy. What is a good royalty romance without a little scandal? Good ole Nicky does have a little secret and when it comes out, it will change everything for everyone. Trust has been broken and hearts shattered. Can they come back from this? Nicholas is next in line for the thrown, how does this change everything? You will need to read Royally Screwed to find out!!! I thought this was a great 5 star read that everyone should read!!

4.5 stars — I’ve been looking forward to this one since it came out, but you know how sometimes you’re so excited for something that you start to worry that you’ve hyped yourself up too much, and it can’t possibly do anything but disappoint you? That’s how I started to feel about this book. So I hesitated starting it, even though I’d already bought the set of paperbacks for the whole series…that conflict between head and heart I guess. But I worried needlessly, this book was so up my alley, it’s not even funny. And now it’s going to be hard for me to wait until later in January to read the rest of the series!!

The characters in this one were so good…I really empathized with so many of the struggles they were going through, and they felt very authentic. Their voices were very distinct, and I just loved reading from both Nicholas and Olivia’s perspectives… I also really appreciated that neither were perfect, they both had flaws.

Nicholas was definitely a horny bastard…I wasn’t expecting that, but it was amusing. I was concerned that that might take away from the romance and the connection between him and Olivia. And while there *was* a strong steam factor in this book, I totally bought into the development of their feelings for each other as well. I was also worried that I wouldn’t fall in love with Nicholas…I mean, yeah, he’s sexy and hilarious, but I was worried that that was all we were going to get. But damn, Ms. Chase just really brought it in this book. I really understood the pressures that he was under as the Crown Prince, and how he was torn between the duty that he’s known all his life, and his love for his country and WANTING to do his best for them. And while I wanted to smack him like a gagillion times for the truly dickish things he would say, or the just misguided way he would behave, or the selfish things he asked of Olivia, I could actually understand how his upbringing shaped him in that way and made him think some of those things were reasonable.

And Olivia was just the perfect foil for Nicholas. She was just so kind and good and empathic, but she was also seriously sassy and could give it back to Nicholas and meet him on his level. I can only imagine what a breath of fresh air she was to Nicholas…and I loved that even when she learned who he was, she really didn’t behave too differently towards him. In fact, she treated everyone with the same respect and kindness, but also wouldn’t take crap from ANYONE. I was worried about her, and how things were going to play out in their romance, but I really was satisfied with how that all turned out.

The other thing that I really appreciated was that the story did not always follow the usual tropes. I mean, there were definitely some things that happened that followed an expected path, but then there were other little plot twists that I expected to go one way, and I was pleasantly surprised when they didn’t. Which is not to say that I don’t like those tropes, I do…but sometimes it’s fun when things go in a different direction too, you know? I was actually a little confused about how the story was going to play out, and when we’d get the big conflict, but again…I shouldn’t have worried. I was happy with how it played out.

This book also had a strong secondary cast of characters, and I LOVE that. And not just the secondary characters that will be getting their own books, like the adorable but damaged Henry, or the irrepressible, effervescent Ellie, or the strong and silent Logan. But then there was Simon and Franny…wow, did not expect them to add so much to the story. Franny made me cry…I loved her story with Simon. And who couldn’t fall in love with Marty?? ? And then there’s the Queen. She surprised me. I remember reading a book not too long ago where the Queen wasn’t given depth and redemption, and so I was unreasonably happy when we got to see more in the Queen. She didn’t change necessarily, but there was just more to her.

OK, I talked way too much, as usual. But I just really enjoyed this one, even if it meant 2 really late nights of reading b/c “just one more chapter.” WORTH IT.

This story is enchanting. It's adoring, it's a tale fit for a would be princess. There are books that you read and while it's enjoyable, you feel like an outsider looking in. Royally Screwed had me right there in the very same moments and breaths as these characters. The fall was amazing! It's becoming more and more rare to find stories that you stretch out and bask in the warmth of falling in love. It seems like lately every book I read the story usually develops so fast and everything happens so quick. But this book, the story of Olivia and Nicholas reminds me why I fell in love with reading. I felt like I was doing everything with them, feeling every moment, it was enthralling. It was so FULL of storyline, so full of moments. It felt like it was never going to end, like I never wanted it to end. I just wanted to keep reading and keep living in their world. Exploring the life of royalty.

"The time has flown by as quickly as turning the pages in a book. They’ve been glorious days—filled with laughter and kisses, moans and gasps, more pleasure in every way than I ever let myself dream about."

Nicholas is a Prince who is next in line to the throne. Royal blood and duty has him bound to living a life that is not always easy. His biggest challenge comes when his grandma The Queen gives him a 5 month timeline of choosing a wife. As a Prince, Nicolas can not just choose any wife, she has to be of royal blood. He's no where near ready to settle and hates the idea of being forced into marriage at this point but he is one to always fulfill his royal obligation. Until that deadline though he decides to live it up. He's in New York when a chance encounter brings him into Olivia's coffee shop. Nicholas is so intrigued by her. She's like no one he's ever known. There's a bit of a chase as he tries to get her to agree to a date with him. Eventually these two are enjoying life all over New York and back home in Wessco. Their relationship develops so naturally and so wonderfully. They enjoy spending time together and getting to know each other's lives. Their summer is filled with magical and amazing moments. But time...time is the one thing Nicolas and Olivia don't have enough of, they're loosing it faster and faster.

"My mother once told me that time was like the wind. It rushes over you, passes you—and no matter how hard you try, how much you want to, you can’t hold onto it, and you can’t ever slow it down."

When the end of their time is fast approaching, I felt the pit in my stomach. I was aching for them. Feeling their pain as they watched their days slip away. Being a Prince, being bound by royal obligation and specific laws, Nicholas is stuck in a terrible position. There's no doubt Olivia is the love of his life but there's no way to make things work, to keep her. And he hates it. She hates it. I hated it! Ugh! The tension and anxiety was so much. So many emotions are stirred up.

"I should’ve left her alone. I should’ve walked away the moment I started to feel…everything. I had no business trying to keep her. It will forever be the cruelest thing I’ve ever done."

The characters, the storyline, the development, the writing, just all of it! Everything about Royally Screwed was just wonderful. I didn't want to miss a single moment, I didn't want it to stop and I'm so excited for the series to go further with Nicholas' brother Prince Henry.

Here is my review of this scrumptious, dreamy romance. Of course I loved it. What gal who loves Chic Lit wouldn't.

Olivia Hammond is struggling to keep what's left of her family together by using her deceased mother's pie recipe's in a small coffee shop. People stop by just for the pies. They are that good.
Olivia is struggling to pay the mortgage and save enough for her sister to go to college. Their father buried himself in a bottle when wife, the love of his life died.

One very snowy day, a near blizzard, has Olivia thinking of closing the store for the day, when two young men enter the store and ask for slices of pie and coffee. Simon, one of the young men asks for 4 slices of pie and is contemplating getting some to take with them back to their hotel. The other young man is totally taken with Olivia and propositions her. She almost slaps him, but he is a customer, so she firmly says 'NO'. He returns the next day and the day after, etc.

Her younger sister, Ellie sees him and flips out. After he leaves she spills on who that was who is so interested in Olivia: HRH Prince Nicholas of Wesco, heir to the throne. Olivia thought he was a movie star or something else since he did have a couple of bodyguards always with him, who sat and didn't have pie. Their romance continues until he invites her to a party where they see his younger brother, Henry making a total *** of himself. Nicholas is pissed that he must now leave and go back home with Henry. He was originally promised 5 months before he must announce his choice for a royal bride and future queen. It's only been two months and he needs more of Olivia. So, he convinces her to go with him to Wesco, to the palace.

Life at the palace does not always go smoothly for Olivia, but Nicholas loves her and she loves him despite the issues that crop up, until... you'll have to read the book to see what happens and how we finally get to our over-the-top romantic HEA. LOVED IT. 25 STARS from me!

When I was young I read fairytales and this one is a fairytale a little bit dirtier! Royally Screwed is a story that will leave you satisfied and wanting more!
People are always fascinated by the royal families and Emma Chase took this idea and developed a book with a charming Prince and a noble girl and a love taken out of tales.
Olivia is like Cinderella without the bad stepmom and sisters. Instead she holds a shop full of debt , trying to hold her family together, supporting her younger quirky sister and her heartbroken dad.
Prince Nicholas is the heir to a kingdom and it's time to take his rightful place as the future king. When the Queen forces him to follow the protocol and do his duty, he has so little time to enjoy life. When he meets Olivia, he is enchanted by her beauty and he wants her. Like a real Prince ,he sweeps her of her feet and takes her to a journey full of royal charm and romance.
Olivia is a kind, hardworking girl that has grabbed life by its horns. I love how down to earth she is and so loyal to her family. She is strong, she never takes anything for granted and when she meets Nicholas she likes the man and not the title.
Nicholas is what you expect from a firstborn that will make a future king. He is serious, he has his country above all and he will obey the Queen no matter what. Olivia makes him more carefree and his smart ways will make you love him.
Their relationship is just heartwarming. It's steady with no troubles between them but with enough angst that makes them more real.
Emma entwined in her story so many great characters that will make you crave more. I laughed so much with the secondary characters ,especially with Olivia's sister. Between the lightness though, the author gave us the perfect glimpse of what Royalties are going through but also everyday people like us. Behind the wealth, there is darkness, sadness and a life without privacy.
Emma Chase somehow manages to write not only love stories but also worlds with characters that shine equally. She makes us believe that for every girl there is a happy end and her Prince is waiting for her not to save her but to love her. After a story inspired by Cinderella , I cannot wait for the next one about Henry , the younger Prince and the ugly duckling who will capture his heart! If I could twirl, I would totally do it after reading this sweet start of this amazing series!

***I received an ebook copy in exchange for an honest review***

With Royally Screwed, Emma Chase has given readers yet another swoony, romantic, charming, and ridiculously sexy leading man to enjoy.

Nicholas' grandmother, your stereotypical overbearing queen, decides that it's time for him to get married. Her logic is that a glitzy, royal wedding will serve as a distraction for other not-so-noble things going on in the family (coughcough Nicholas's brother, Henry, and his outlandish behavior coughcough), and hopefully save the monarchy. So, she sends Nicholas off to wrangle in his wild brother, and informs him that he has five months to find a bride or she'll find one for him.

While he's off trying to get things under control, Nicholas meets Olivia, a sassy New York girl who somehow manages to resist his charms. Her aversion only makes her more desirable, and Nicholas sets off on a quest to win the woman. But romance doesn't come easy when you're a royal, and there's always a price of some sort to pay for falling in love.

This book was so much fun to read! I loved the characters that Emma gave us. Nicholas and Olivia were amazing, but the secondary characters were just as fantastic. There was snark and sass and wit and laugh-out-loud moments. Olivia and Nicholas had amazing chemistry. Sparks were flying from their very first interaction and kept flying until they were fanned into an all-out flame. I couldn't put this one down once I got into the story, and I didn't want to either.

I really loved how Olivia wasn't completely struck by Nicholas's charms right off the bat. I expected her to fall at Nicholas's feet like the other women around him did, but the fact that she didn't only made me like her as a character even more.

Nicholas is everything I would want in my own Prince Charming. He's smart, funny, sexy, talented between the sheets, and just cocky enough that it's attractive and not unbearable. He's been on his own, not looking to settle down for a long time, but he has so many amazing qualities and is such a romantic and caring individual beneath the sexy exterior he's constructed.

This was a fun, romantic read. There was a bit of angst mingled in as the story went on. Character development is solid and the plot ebbed and flowed perfectly.

Five stars to this book!

I am in love! I love Prince Nicholas. I love Olivia. I love their story. I love their writing. There is not one aspect of this story that did not make my heart melt or leave me with warm tingly feelings. It is complete romance perfection!

The two main characters, Olivia and Nicholas, are lovely and make the story everything that it is. Watching them fall for each other, seeing the chemistry spark emotionally with their banter and easy acceptance of each other, as well as in the bedroom leads the reader to become enthralled with their status as a couple. These two make each other better, freer, giving each other permission to be more like who they are versus who the world has told them they need to be.

But more importantly, the reader becomes invested in these two as a couple because the reader loves them as individuals. Olivia is a sympathetic character because of all the obstacles she is facing, and she attacks these challenges head on without faltering. Her fortitude in battling the many adversities that have plagued her life not only makes the reader sympathize with her but also revere her for her dedication to her family, particularly her sister. The reader wants her to have fun and enjoy her fling with Nicholas, and as the novel progresses, and we see them together, the reader wants it to be more.

Nicholas is a hero I have come to expect from Emma Chase. He is honorable, funny, romantic, and so incredibly sexy! Everything from his words to his actions showcases that he is a good guy, and even when he makes some choices the reader isn’t happy with, it is easy to understand his choices based on the characterization created by the author. His humor and lightness with Olivia draws the reader to him as a character, and his vibrancy for life is addictive, even through the pages. And, finally, the moves in the bedroom are top notch, but not over the top. It is clear that Nicholas knows what he is doing in the bedroom, but I love that the physical relationship between them is authentic. These two together just absolutely shine, and the reader finds himself/herself emotional invested in the outcome of these two people.

In addition to the two main characters, I absolutely adore the secondary characters. Everyone from the pie eating Simon, to bubble bath Franny, to the wild and crazy Prince Henry are all wildly entertaining, and I enjoy all the comedy they bring to this romance. Emma Chase also does an excellent job introducing the reader to Henry and setting up her next book Royally Matched, as I already love his sense of humor, and the author has already begun to establish him as a sympathetic character. I already want a HEA for this character, and I haven’t even gotten his full story. Finally, the cameo of two characters from her previous series, The Legal Briefs series, is amazing! I absolutely love getting to see old characters, even if it is only for a chapter, and seeing Brent and Kennedy was like visiting with old friends.

The plot of this story is perfectly paced and well-balanced concoction of comedy, romance, and steam. The relationship between the two is developed perfectly, resulting in an authenticity between the two main characters that doesn’t seemed rushed. Yet, it moves along quickly enough that I am engaged with the couple progression from page one. The plot provides some many instances of comedy. Readers will find themselves laughing out loud and smiling unknowingly at their book. The banter and the back and forth, and pretty much any moment with Franny, will have the reader laughing as the witness love unfurl. Although the conflict and resolution of the story are predictable, Emma Chase’s story and characters are so unique that it doesn’t matter to me. It still hurt my heart and gutted my soul to see them fall apart, and the resolution still made my heart flutter at the grand gesture and the romance that results. And that epilogue will seriously have you smiling like a mad person. Truly, a well-paced, entertaining read.

Royally Screwed has done nothing but solidify that Emma Chase is romance royalty. Time after time, she delivers entertaining romances that hit readers in the heart and showcase all the best aspects of love, and the Royal series is no different. This entertaining and endearing romance must absolutely find a place on your bookshelf!

5 Royal Stars

I love Emma Chase. I’ve read all of her books and met her a few times. Every time I’ve met her she spends several minutes with each of her fans (regardless how long the lines are), there is just something about her that makes you feel special. So when I realized she was going to write a new series I was all over that.

Royally Screwed is a standalone and is part of the Royally series (YAY for a series. I would be crying ugly tears if there was only one book.) This is Nicholas and Olivia’s story.

Nicholas is a prince. He’s the oldest and he knows that one day he will be King. He has done everything that is asked of him. But when will it be too much? I really liked Nicholas. I love how he’s responsible, caring and very loyal to his people. I love how he wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s also very good looking and confident, he is a Prince after all.

Olivia works for her family’s coffee shop. It’s a little shabby but it kind of fits Olivia. She’s a regular “common” girl. The day the Prince walks into her shop is the day her life changes, the only thing, she doesn’t realize it’s the Prince.

I’m obsessed with Olivia. I love that she is a typical, but sweet and hard-working girl. She loves her family and she is very selfless. The moment Olivia and Nicholas meet is completely adorable. I love the banter between the two.

What I love best about this book is the writing style. I felt like Emma Chase was telling me a really good story. I got a lot of character development, plot build-up and a few surprises along the way. This is opposite of a typical read. It’s not about a girl living the dream of becoming a princess. It’s about a couple, getting to know each other under extraordinary circumstances.

There’s plenty of drama and tension to keep you occupied with a slightly difficult grandmother, tension between the people and a few jealous ex’s oh my.

I also love the side characters. I love Nicholas’ brother, Henry and Olivia’s sister. You get a little foreshadowing to Henry’s story and let me tell you, I can’t wait. I can’t decide which brother I love more! I’m just happy it’s not over.

I love the new direction Emma took us and her gamble paid off ten folds. I’m a MEGA FAN!

Emma Chase never ceases to amaze me as she continues to deliver swoonworthy romances that always sets my heart to flutter. She has royally screwed me over as I am head over heels in love with Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka His Royal Hotness.

“I was known before I was born and my name will be blazoned in history long after I’m dust in the ground. Infamy is temporary, celebrity is fleeting, but royalty…royalty is forever.”

Emma Chase’s literary signature of steamy romance with a hint of humor, sass, and banter are a prominent factor as to why Royally Screwed is royally amazing. In this modern refreshing spin of a royal fairytale romance, hearts will swoon as Prince Nicholas will have you saying why is everyone so in love with Prince Charming when you can have a royal prince that will have your knickers wet and begging for more. Who needs a glass slipper when you have a dirty mouth prince who will whisper sweet nothings in your ear? And did I mention he calls you, love?

Nicholas is no stranger to the public eye since he was born into the spotlight. As the next heir to the throne, every move that he makes is scrutinized. And so when his grandmother, The Queen sends Nicholas to New York City to retrieve his younger brother, Henry, Nicholas discovers that he may not be taking a bite of the Big Apple but instead of homemade apple pie from a certain coffee shop owner.

“I want Olivia. In my bed, on my c#@#, over my face. And I want her to know it.”

Olivia Hammond runs her family’s coffee shop that is famous for their pies. Who doesn’t love pies? And so when Nicholas happens to stumble in Olivia’s shop, he didn’t make a great first appearance. First, he was a royal douche since he was highly intoxicated. And so the following next day, Nicholas goes to apologize to Olivia. It is there he forms a kind of truce with her.

Nicholas is smitten with Olivia because she doesn’t care that he is a Prince. She treats him like an ordinary person and it was refreshing for him to meet someone who doesn’t see dollar signs and fame. As Olivia and Nicholas gets close, what happens when she learns that the Queen wants him to get married? And what happens when Nicholas must decide on whether he wants the throne or Olivia?

“Slowly, he leans down. I taste his breath—cinnamon and clove—before I taste him. And then Nicholas presses his mouth against mine. Possessively. Boldly. Like he owns me. And in this moment he does.”

Royally Screwed was an absolute gem of a read. This book was a riot of entertainment as Emma Chase beautifully weaves humor, sass, passion, romance, and royal drama. So if you are looking for a love story that is your modern fairy tale of happily ever after then I highly recommend you to fall for Nicholas and Olivia. The writing was spectacular. The characters were a riot of fun. And the story was enchanting. So are you ready to get Royally Screwed?

Royalty is forever…

That’s a concept that Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, had to learn at an early age; at a time when duty, honor, and responsibilities weren’t concepts he could understand but were expectations nonetheless. And now that her Majesty Queen Lenora has rendered a royal decree that Nicholas has no choice but to follow, he finds himself royally screwed in the most unpleasant of ways.

Olivia Hammond is not of noble blood; she has no wealth or properties…no title or dowry. She’s a commoner through and through and she has the debt and plain lifestyle to prove it. But what she does have is the ability to bring Prince Nicholas to his knees, and even though Olivia has been her own hero for quite some time, a summer affair with “His Royal Hotness” might just change this lovely pauper into a beautiful princess, but that doesn’t mean she’ll have her prince, especially since Nicholas must follow the path his grandmother has laid out for him and who she deems appropriate for the future King of Wessco.

Emma Chase has patented the cocky and sinfully sexy male point of view, and Nicholas falls right in line with those who have come before him. Nicholas is definitely a larger than life character who may seem prim and proper in public but is quite the dirty talking seducer behind closed doors, and I can only imagine what his brother, Henry, will add to Chase’s handsome and dominating males.

Olivia is an extremely likable character; despite the hardships she’s faced and the responsibilities that seem to weigh her down, she works hard to keep Amelia’s afloat while having very little for herself. Olivia never complains or acts out because she knows what matters most in life, and day in and day out, she relies on only herself to keep everything running despite how difficult it is.

Even though Nicholas and Olivia come from two very different worlds and can’t have anything more than a summer affair, the ease in which their relationship progresses is not something they saw coming nor is it something they want to willingly give up. Despite those feelings, though, they can’t change who they are nor can Nicholas’ royal heritage be forgotten, which means that this royal and this commoner’s future has no way of remaining linked because duty to the crown will always trump love even in the 21st Century.

If Royally Screwed is any indication of what Emma Chase’s new series has in store for readers, we are in for one steamy, witty, and romantic journey that will illustrate being a royal is not all glitz and glamour, especially if the Pembrook men have anything to say about it.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

I have been a fan of Emma Chase from the beginning. My copy of Tangled is the indie published ebook – the one featuring the beige sheets instead of the red ones. I stumbled upon it a couple of weeks after its release and was amazed by how an author could make me cry like a baby and laugh myself silly, all while writing from the male point of view. Crying wasn’t a biggie because with the right storyline, an author can rip my heart out and wring it dry. It was the laughter that shocked me. I’m pretty sure that Tangled was the first real romantic comedy I’ve read and with it, Chase secured a spot on my watch list, and with each subsequent book of the author’s I read, she secured her spot on my must-read list. Royally Screwed not only continued to validate her position on that list, it made me laugh and cry in just the right amounts and left me wanting January to get here sooner so that I can remain in Wessco with the royal family.

While the prologue is intended to give the reader an understanding of why Nicholas is able to live his life under the close scrutiny of the press – he’s never known a time in his life when they weren’t present – it is the first chapter that really pulled me into the story. I love the way Chase writes her male characters and I found Nicholas even more entertaining because of the dichotomy between what he wanted to say and what he had to say to maintain his image as the heir to the throne. There were certainly times I wanted him to be able to say what he was thinking, but I understood why he could not and those times I was happy that he had the judgement to know when to hold his tongue – sadly, there is a time when the skill fails him and does so spectacularly. But prior to that, watching him get rejected by Olivia, watching him apologize to her, and then watching him pursue her – all things it’s painfully obvious he’s not used to having to do – was wonderfully entertaining. And endearing because you could tell that Nicholas didn’t get to just be himself often, so it wasn’t difficult to understand why their relationship progressed as it did. What wasn’t fun to watch was Olivia learning just how nasty the aristocracy could be, but thankfully, she found an unexpected ally in Franny. Yet the ups and downs were well worth the ending as Chase managed to give the couple the royal ending they deserved – which also set the stage for book two quite beautifully.

One of the things I appreciated about Royally Screwed is that while Chase doesn’t skimp on the humor, it occurs a bit more subtly in several places. This fits well with the characterization I believe many Americans have with royalty: that they’re far more buttoned-up and less crass than the regular guy – at least in public they are. There is a nice balance between the sharp-edge-of-the-tongue humor and the intentional humor that one would use in an effort to break the tension, but not over-the-top humor. I loved the family relationships and how even though Nicholas’s family couldn’t approve of his relationship with Olivia, they weren’t as unsympathetic as they appeared at first glance. My only real complaint about Royally Screwed is that I wish there had been more – I would have loved to see what took place in the eight months between the last chapter and the Epilogue, but I can never get enough of Chase’s writing. I loved Royally Screwed and cannot wait for the release of Royally Matched so I can read Henry’s story.

I remember watching Oprah interview a male celebrity on her show one day and after the commercial break she played back a recording they made of the audience off air. Lots of females had their mirrors out, touching up hair and make up. She asked them if they thought her guest was going to suddenly spot one of them looking so good, stand up, point at them and say ‘you, you are the one I have been waiting for my whole life.’ Well we can all have dreams right?

Olivia Hammond had dreams, once upon a time. They were squashed the moment her mother died. She now lives her life running the family pie business and helping pay for her younger sisters education. She doesn’t enjoy it at all, only doing it out of a sense of duty.

Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, knows all about duty. He is next in line to the throne and his life is all about traditions, expectations and upholding the values bestowed upon him the day he was born. He lives with his grandmother the Queen of Wessco who is getting grumpier with age and impatient about Nicholas finding a ‘suitable’ wife.

The Queen gives him a deadline to sort himself out and he takes the opportunity to enjoy his last summer of freedom as a single man and to also track down his wayward younger brother, Henry. This is how he finds himself in Amelia’s pie shop in Manhattan, New York one snowy evening.

Olivia has no idea who he is when he seeks shelter from the storm in her pie shop but she definitely notices how attractive he is. To top if off he also has a gorgeous accent. It is a shame however that those are wasted on such an arrogant, rude man. He is obviously used to women falling at his feet due to his charm but Olivia is having none of it and soon sends him packing.

This is a new experience for Nicholas and he is completely captivated by this beautiful young woman. It only makes him more determined to get her to like him. Maybe a summer romance could be on the cards?

A person of royal stature dating a ‘commoner’ is not something that is widely accepted but nevertheless, Nicholas and Olivia have decided to take the leap and have fun with each other. They seem to suit each other so well and it is refreshing for Nick to have a girl genuinely interested in him and not his ‘job.’

If only he was able to marry for love and not connections, Olivia would make a wonderful wife. However, life is not a fairy tale and Nicholas knows it can’t last forever. Either way, this is only going to end in two hearts being royally screwed.

This was another fun and fabulous story from Emma Chase.

‘It’s only later – after everything is perfect or it’s all fallen apart – that we look back, retrace our steps and realise the exact moment that split our histories and our hearts into two – the before and the after. In the after, it’s not just our lives that are changed. We’re changed. Forever.’

Emma Chase is one of the few authors I allow to bend some of my strict book character rules of conduct. Why? Well, I definitely love her writing style, but mostly because her alpha heroes are usually misbehaving in one form or another, but she still manages to sneak in an underlying theme of redemption that inevitably leads to a repentant apology/behavior where the hero has to grovel/fight for true love. Using the right lady love seems to always do the trick, as well. Besides the witty banter, her feisty heroines are usually more than up to the challenge of reforming these bad boys. Royally Screwed, book 1 of Ms. Chase’s Royally series, was no exception.

Right off the bat, you get the vibe that rich, famous, privileged, poised to assume the throne Prince Nicholas is no saint. He’s had scores of girls, and everyone pretty much either wants a piece of him or to be him. But you also get an important glimpse into his soul that reveals loneliness and deep sadness over losing both parents in a plane crash while he was just a teenager. He’s been groomed to take over the reign of his country when his grandmother eventually steps down, but that still doesn’t keep him from going into shell shock when he’s told he has to become the groom and pick a bride within five months.

First things first, however. Nicholas needs to travel to New York and track down his wayward, living off the rails, completely out of control younger brother, Prince Henry, who makes Nicholas look like a straight laced choir boy. His mission? Convince the spare heir to return home. Btw, the next book will be all about Henry. It will feature a “The Bachelor” reality tv show theme with Henry falling for the quiet, doesn’t like to draw attention to herself but of noble birth, tv producer. Yeah, I’m thinking he is going to learn a lesson in life and love that will finally get his heart and head on straight once and for all.

Sure, there were some things in Royally Screwed that set this avid true romantic heart’s a flutter a time or two, but, honestly, I loved how this book ended. From Nicholas’s first misstep in Olivia’s coffee shop in New York, where he propositioned her, to stupidly insisting she provide proof of a certain something, I found myself immediately forgiving this princely knucklehead due to his heart-melting, romantic, gigantic, grand gesture that sealed the deal for their HEA. Here’s to hoping my review will be helpful to you in deciding if you’ll feel the same.

Goodreads Romance Safety Gang: Not far into it, the hero briefly reminisces about sexcapes with OW that previously occurred in his palace bedroom. They will likely make you uncomfortable. When he meets the heroine for the first time, he’s had a tad too much to drink. His instant lust attraction to her prompts him to proposition her and put his royal foot right in his mouth. Yeah, that doesn’t go so well for him, folks. But not to worry, this New York, all American girl sure made me proud with her “actions speak louder than words” response. I mentally “high fived” her for that bold move.

At 75%, Nicholas gets overheard saying some repulsive things about Olivia to ward off a guy who now wants her. Like it is the only way to make the sleazy guy step away. You may not see it that way.

Since there was no cheating, no love triangle, no OW/OM drama, some in this group may consider this safe with exceptions. Others may not feel so generous, mainly because of the hero putting duty before love and/or his Plan B. My fellow romance book-loving friends, it all depends on your individual character rules of conduct, no one else’s. For me, Emma Chase tugs me back and forth over that line, but ultimately I can never resist the pull of her engaging plots, witty banter, and especially the “Oh, girl, I am so sorry” groveling heroes. With it’s Cinderella angst type theme, Royally Screwed, once again, had me at the main couple’s “first hello” and kept me riveted until their fairy tale like HEA.

Title: Royally Screwed, Series: Royally (Book 1), Author: Emma Chase, Pages: 276, Pub. Date: 10/16/16, stand-alone but part of a series, HEA, no cheating, no OW/OM drama, no love triangle, heroine runs/works at her deceased mom’s coffee/pie shop, VERY steamy scenes with lusty language, Cinderella who can’t marry her prince type theme, heroine gets her heart stomped on but groveling hero fixes it and hands it back to her.

Our lives may not always be fairy tales, but we can experience them in books every day. We can feel the fantasy; we can live the dream. Who doesn’t want to be a princess? Emma Chase whisks you into a better-than-Cinderella fairy tale in Royally Screwed where you feel that fantasy as you dive into one delicious dream. Alluring and all-consuming, Royally Screwed is a modern day rags-to-riches romance with a sexy Prince and the perfect blend of heat, humor, and heart.

Feeling like a Disney Princess, I dove into the delicious Royally Screwed where I wanted to take my time, sprinkling myself into this dream like fairy dust, where I could bask in the glow of wonder. Now for the reality: I devoured Royally Screwed with a deep hunger like an addict, ignoring everything and everyone, not wanting to surface for air. I could not sink fast enough into this story that quickly became my crack, captivating and claiming all of me. Royally Screwed instantly thrust me into a royal kingdom with one panty-melting and passionate Prince where I wanted to be his Cinderella.

Prince Nicholas Pembrook of Wessco is tall, blue-eyed, dark-haired, and handsome with a delicious body and dirty-talking mouth. His Royal Hotness indeed. The Prince’s inner thoughts were icing on the cake.

While Nicholas enjoys the royal perks, he is not a fan of his princely duties and wants to live as a real guy for once. According to the Queen, this hot and hilarious Prince doesn’t take those duties seriously. To save the kingdom from further embarrassment and worldwide mockery, the Queen decided that the Prince must find his Princess from a list of suitable royalty of course.

With only six months to find a bride, the Prince does what only a royally hot alpha who hates his royally ridiculous responsibilities can do: Run off to New York City to embark on one last adventure, far away from his princely duties, before he is forced into a wedding he doesn’t want. Little does Nicholas count on was his adventure being one where a beautiful waitress hurls a pie at his face after an offer he thought she wouldn’t refuse, and it’s a fixation at first sight.

Beautiful Olivia Hammond is struggling financially to help keep her family afloat in a bakery serving her famous pies. One Prince wants to devour her like pie and Olivia doesn’t have time for a distraction, no matter how tempting he is or how scrumptious he looks.

The Prince is a determined man who has always taken what he wants. What or who he wants is Olivia, the gal with the sassy mouth and lush lips that he wants to taste.

Combine the seductive charm and heated humor with one passionate and soul-shattering kiss and Olivia falls into the rabbit hole, completely smitten by the oh-so-persuasive Prince.

Secrets, lies, and an unyielding Queen equate to one royal mess. Nicholas is royally screwed.

Royally Screwed is royally incredible, one unputdownable and unforgettable tale! I fell fast and hard for Prince Nicholas, one of my new best book boyfriends and amazing alphas. I fell fast and hard for the secondary characters, Prince Henry the little brother, and Franny, Olivia’s new royal friend whose lady balls were sky high. I fell fast and hard for Royally Screwed, an immensely intoxicating and incredible modern day Cinderella story. I FELL FAST AND HARD FOR IT ALL!.

This book is bloody brilliant! Royally Screwed blew me away as one of best books I’ve read this year and ever! I did not expect this story to twist and turn itself around me where I FELT ALL THE FEELS. I laughed and lusted, and then cried happy and sad tears. Royally Screwed brought the heat and humor, but also a heap of heart coupled with courage and hope where I could not help but FALL IN UTTER LOVE with this rom-com that is SO MUCH MORE.

I don’t know why I waited so long to meet Emma Chase’s masterpieces, but I was a fool to procrastinate. This author is one of my new favorites: those who BRING IT ALL to their work, where their imaginations, humor, and hearts are poured into every beautiful and brilliant word. These go-to authors write books that aren’t simply stories but escapes from reality, adventures where you free-fall so hard that you don’t to surface for air.

Emma Chase sprinkled fairy dust on the pages of Royally Screwed, an enchanting and entertaining story of epic love, a gem so beautiful and bright. Royally Screwed is pure magic, penned and painted to perfection, a movie playing while reading. I had laughs in my gut, love in my heart and stars in my eyes. The story that's an ace in a sea of cards, I can't wait to get Royally Screwed again as my fairy tale was over too soon.

Nicholas Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco lives under the microscope of the public and the press. The intense scrutiny he lives under and the strict life choices he must adhere to has him drowning in his family duty. But you could never tell that by his rehearsed charm and smooth personality.

He's always been responsible and caring, but he’s no saint. He likes his fair share of women…to play with. But keeping someone forever is another story. He's left with very little choices in his life, and his future wife is no exception. After losing his parents in a tragic accident at a young age, he always knew he would marry someday, but now the noose is tightening. A trip to New York and a matter of months are the only things standing between him and an engagement to someone "suitable".

Nicholas was expecting to find his wayward brother, soak up as much alcohol and as many good times as he could in his dwindling bachelorhood. Things didn't quite go as planned. He meets Olivia late one night at her family's coffee shop, and is shocked to discover that not everyone can be bought or easily impressed by his looks or title. Her spirit and beauty drew his eye immediately, but it was her genuine personality that attracted him the most.

Olivia was a wonderful heroine. She was strong, she was a survivor, and was the protector and provider in the family. Much like the role Nicolas has assumed. Maybe it was their shared tragic loss in their past and their shouldered responsibility that helped them connect with one another so completely and perfectly. She didn't see a monarch, she saw a man. And as much as he tried to stay away, to keep things simple, he quickly becomes addicted to the normalcy he feels with her. And the chemistry? It was like nothing either had experienced or promised to find again. Immediate, overpowering, and undeniable, they were both swept away in the current and unable to find shore.

As their time quickly slipped away, it becomes harder and harder to imagine a cold, emotionless life without each other. But they knew from the start they were on borrowed time. Is there any way to salvage what will soon be only a distant memory?

I must say, I was pretty curious how this would play out. On one hand, he had the service to his country that he was raised his entire life to prepare for. Ruling has always been his present and his future. On the other hand, a future without the woman who changed his whole world, who accepts him and sees him for who he really is? That's no longer an option for him.

This was a strong start to the series, it was seductive, sweet, and just plain fun. Nicholas' brother Henry's book is next and after the little bit of backstory and tease of what's to come I'm firmly sold on reading it. Overall, this was a pleasure to read and I think Emma's readers will be more than satisfied with this first installment.

I L❤️VE reading a book that plays out in my head like a movie, when the writing is so real and vivid and descriptive that I can picture every part of the scenes as though I were sitting in a theater. Royally Screwed is one of those books! Emma Chase has written another outstanding romantic comedy. Her writing is fresh, fun emotional and heart-felt. This book solidifies her place on my must-one-click list!

Nicholas is a Prince. And, he faces all of the pressure that one might expect would come with such a title. His Grandmother, the Queen, is pressuring him to find a suitable, noble, wife. When he is sent to New York City to track down his wayward younger brother, he finds himself in a cafe, face-to-face with a woman who takes her breath away. After insulting her the first few times they meet, he finds himself going back not only to apologize, but because he just can's stay away from this enigmatic woman.

Olivia is NOT nobility and far from it. But, she is beautiful, hard-working, dependable, independent, fun, kind and caring. And, Nicholas can't help falling in love with her. What follows is the wonderful story of a whirlwind romance of epic proportions. This is virtually a modern-day-Disney movie given life in book form!

Like all of Chase's books, Royally Screwed is full of fantastic supporting characters. There are quirky family members and supportive, relate-able BFF's. These personalities and relationships add depth and complexity to the story.

Royally Screwed is one of my most enjoyable reads of the year. It is the perfect pallet cleanser for an anxious or overwrought emotional read. Though be prepared there is also true emotion in this story and I even had a few tears before we reached the Happily Ever After.
I can't wait until the next book in the Royally Series (Royally Matched) is released in February! This book is a must-one-click for all Rom-Com lovers!

BFF Book Blog also uses a set of icon ratings. Randy royal HRH Prince Nicholas of Wessco has just been given an ultimatum by the Queen--Pick a suitable bride off a pre-approved list in five months and do his duty to family and country. What this inspires Nick to do it to try to fit in as much fun and adventure as he can in the the time he has left.

A random visit to a broken down coffee house in New York brings him into the presence of Olivia Hammond. She is outspoken, fiery, independent, hardworking, and just plain tired. She is doing all she can to save her family's failing business. She does not even know who he is at first. But his subsequent visits have them both flirting and riling each other up. He's used to getting what he wants. She is resistant and challenges him. But his attention makes her feel special.

So it becomes a passionate fling of the royal and the common American with a deadline and they are exposed to public scrutiny and impossible standards. They are two opposites with some similarities and some seriously hot chemistry. But can that translate into a fairy tale romance? Not if the Queen or the rules of his country are considered...

I really liked these two together. They have such a great rapport, understanding, and chemistry. They allow each other to feel free, cared for, and appreciated. They are one hot couple flirting with serious emotions in a situation that seems doomed to end in heartbreak.

From New York to Wessco this is a romantic royal adventure and a story of true love that doesn't have a chance of running smooth due to outside issues and some personal issues and mistakes.

I adored Nicholas and Olivia. They are sexy and sweet together. This swoon-worthy Prince is wickedly charming, witty, cocky, and dirty-talking. She's sassy, strong, outspoken, and caring. I enjoyed their witty banter and humor. I felt for them as they struggled under challenging circumstances, but was rooting for them the whole way. Can these two really find a way to their Happily-Ever-After or will the duty of King and country win?

I am already attached to the royal playboy, party boy Prince Henry who has his own issues that just keep building. The other side characters of Simon, Franny, Ellie, Marty, and the Queen brought in humor and/or drama. The two settings of New York and Wessco came alive as a backdrop.

This is a great start to a new series that is humorous, flirty, steamy, romantic, and a lot of fun, with just enough angst and emotion. I love stories about royal families and this one sucked me right in due to Emma Chase's engaging writing style, interesting plotline, and well developed characters. I am looking forward to Henry's book, Royally Matched, and I am already interested in his heroine.

This book was absolutely, royally fantastic! Definitely one of those where I loved every single thing about them and couldn’t put it down, not until I was done!
I’m no stranger to Emma Chase, I read her Tangled series a few years ago and loved it, especially Tangled. She’s amazing at the male POV, her heroes are always so witty, funny and so hot and alpha. Prince Nicholas is no exception, what an amazing hero! Swoony to the max, I absolutely loved him from the first page, right until the end.
So, this is a modern fairytale, a la Cinderella, but it doesn’t feel dated or predictable, its super engaging and it feels super fresh, even when you think the story has been done many times before. But then again, who doesn’t love a good royal fairytale? In real life, I love the royals, Spain, England, Denmark, Sweden, you name it, I love them all. And in fiction, from Cinderella to The Prince and Me, I love royal movies, FLOVE them, this book reminded me of all those movies I love, but hotter, way hotter, so much hotter, lol!
You know I’m big on not spoiling the book, for this one I didn’t even read the blurb, I was like oh, Emma Chase and royals, I’m in! But in the interest of being a good reviewer, in the words of Colton Donavan “for you, I will try” ;)
Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook is the Crown Prince of Wessco, he’s a rowdy bachelor that for the sake of the kingdom has been ordered by his grandmother to find a suitable wife to get married. She gave him a list of suitable candidates and a six month deadline. Nicholas reluctantly accepts, but fate has other plans. On a trip to New York he meets Olivia Hammond, she’s a working class girl who runs her family coffee shop and takes care of her dad and sister. Nicholas is instantly attracted to her but Olivia wasn’t very impressed with him. He pursues her, hard. Their connection and chemistry though, is instant. And their banter is gold! Oh, and the sex, ridiculously hot, beyond hot, this was steamy as hell. What starts as a fling, turns into so much more, and it’s obviously all complicated by the fact that he is a crown prince and she’s a commoner. He has a duty to fulfill so in the end, he might have to choose between his duty to his country and love. The rest, you will have to read to find out!

I loved Olivia from the get go, she’s smart, sassy, fierce, hard-working, and a perfect match for Nicholas. One of my requisites to rate a book 5 stars is that I absolutely have to love the heroine, if I can’t love her or identify with her, the book just loses me. I absolutely adored Olivia, she was an amazing heroine.

“And even if this night is all there is, I won't forget it; I'll hold this memory close. Savor it, cherish it. It will make the hard times just a little easier, the lonely moments just a little less cold. When Ellie leaves for school, when I'm making pies before dawn in the kitchen day after day, I'll remember this feeling and I'll smile. This will get me through.”

Nicholas made the book for me. He is hilarious, so funny, so witty and oh so so hot! Being in his head was the best experience. Like I said, Emma is amazing at the male POV.
“Sometimes I think I'm schizophrenic. Dissociative. Possibly a split personality. It wouldn't be unheard of. All sorts of disorders show up in ancient family trees—hemophiliacs, insomniacs, lunatics...gingers. Guess I should feel lucky not to be any of those.”

“She looks into my eyes and I’m lost. Wrecked. Owned. There’s no thought, no desire—except to please her. Make her see stars and touch heaven.”

The secondary characters were also amazing! Definitely well thought out and developed. I loved the strong bond between Nicholas, Prince Henry and Simon. I loved Olivia’s relationship with Marty and Ellie. I loved Franny so much. Oh and Logan and all the other security guys. I even loved the Queen. I love when while in the middle of reading a book, I start thinking about a sequel and then in the last page you find out there will be one. The entire time I thought Henry needed a book, and guess what? Book 2 is Prince Henry’s book!!!

These days, it is so hard to get a book to fully captivate me to the point of just reading it for hours until I’m done, but this one was one of those for me. I’m not pulling your chain, this was an amazing read. Well written, characters well developed, a healthy combination of love, lust and humor. An amazing ending, an even better epilogue, this book fulfilled all my expectations and more and I absolutely recommend!

“I love you, Olivia. I love you. And I don’t know how to do this. I don’t know how to let you go.”

It feels like lately I’ve been reading a lot of Cinderella-esque reads all with similar plots and characters.

When I began to read this book, I was afraid that I had tired of that particular trope and wouldn’t really enjoy this book.

Thankfully, I was wrong!

This book did have a Cinderella feel in the very beginning but as the chapters progressed, they took the story much deeper and the end result is pure book gold!

Our book boyfriend for this read is Nicholas. Acutally it’s Prince Nicholas, who is royalty from a country that’s apparently allies with Genovia (The country from The Princess Diaries.). *giggle*

He’s also just been informed by his grandmother, the Queen, that by the end of the Summer he must settle down and choose a wife

Prince Nicholas goes to America to find his rambunctious brother when he stumbles upon our heroine, Olivia.

Olivia’s family owns a cute little coffee shop in New York and one night during a snow storm a very drunk Prince Nicholas wanders in.

When they first meet, Olivia has no idea who Prince Nicholas is and though he is used to saying whatever he dang well pleases, she won’t let him get away with it.

Once our charming Prince sobers, he’s reminded of his incredibly rude behavior toward Olivia and sets out to make amends.

Olivia’s life revolves around taking care of her family all on her own. Her mother passed away years prior and her little sister needs her as their father gave up on trying after losing his wife. The interaction with Prince Nicholas is the touch of excitement that has totally been missing in her life.

As our story progresses, Olivia and her Prince spend several months together and it all leads up to what will happen once the deadline to choose a wife falls upon them. As Olivia is neither of royal blood nor born in Wessco she cannot be his choice for princess…

I give Royally Screwed 5 out of 5 Krissy’s Stars!

Olivia is a hard working no nonsense type of person. She is the glue that is keeping her family together. Prince Nicholas is heir apparent to the throne. The two collide when he comes to the best city ever (New York) and they get off on a rocky start but eventually they hit it off. I loved these two characters together. Even though they are both different social status wise, they both have a lot of pressure that comes from being the oldest. Olivia has been keeping the family's shop going after the mom dies and the father checks out emotionally. Nicholas is next in line for the throne and has a lot on his plate plus a younger brother who loves to misbehave.

“Some people go their whole lives without feeling that. We’ll get to have it for four months.”

“I love you, Olivia. I love you. And I don’t know how to do this. I don’t know how to let you go.”

Olivia and Nicholas are on borrowed time together and decide to enjoy the time they have with each other. I loved the interaction with these two! There was a lot of sexy, flirty and silly banter between the both of them. They each brought out different sides of each other and that was nice as well. But everything that glitters isn't always gold. A lot of people are rooting against them and they have an uphill battle to face!

I have to take the time to say how much I LOVED Franny!! Franny is married to Simon who is Nicholas's best friend. The way she took to Olivia and helped her out was endearing. She was sassy, fouled mouth and gave it to you straight, no chaser! I really hope we get to see more of her as the series goes on or maybe even a novella!

"Because I didn’t have you there with me. I love you, Olivia. I don’t need a kingdom—if you’re beside me, I already have the whole world.”

*Sighs*

If you're looking for a book that makes you smile and feel all giddy like a school girl, look no further. I loved everything about this book, the writing, the plot just everything. It had the perfect amount of romance, funny times, and heart filled moments as well. Nothing was over the top which I really appreciated. The secondary characters were awesome and I felt like I was one of the bunch. This book left me with a huge smile on my face after reading. This was a fantastic start to a wonderful new series and I can't wait to get royally swept up again and again!!

Funny, sweet, and swoony, Royally Screwed creates a world in which a playboy royal and an overworked coffee-shop manager find a fling neither expected nor sought out.

Nicholas Pembrook, crowned prince of Wessco, must wed at the end of the summer at the decree of his grandmother, the queen. A trip to New York in his grandmother’s stead finds him stopped at a run down coffee shop, flirting with the harried server who has no idea who he is. When she resists his charms, he finds himself both intrigued and frustrated by her reluctance.

Olivia Hammond doesn’t know who the handsome, cocky man is who walked into her family’s coffee shop during the middle of a snowstorm, but while initially resistant to his flirting, she quickly finds herself attracted to the man behind the title.

But the demand that Nicholas marry looms at the end of the summer, and what should have been a summer fling quickly turns into something more. Nicholas must decide what is important: his family legacy or the unexpected love he found.

Nicholas’s life is so different from what Olivia knows that watching her maneuver the Wessco society functions, having a staff surrounding them, and everything that comes with royalty in Wessco was fun to watch.

I also enjoyed Nicholas’s changes throughout the book. Going from royal playboy to a serious relationship is a huge shift, and he had a lot to learn about having a girlfriend. Even more than just having a girlfriend, he had to learn how to have a girlfriend as a crown prince.

As their emotions deepened I couldn’t help but wonder what would happen when the Queen stood by her initial demand that Nicholas marry at the end of summer, and the plot and characters certainly didn’t disappoint.

This was a fun fairytale romance. I found myself drawn into the world of Wessco. The side characters and situations make this fictional country come to life in a way that kept me entertained and curious about what would go on after the pages of Royally Screwed. Something tells me there is more drama in store for this family, and Henry is up next in Royally Matched.

I am a definite fan of Emma Chase's writing and Royally Screwed is on of my top FAVORITES of 2016!! This book is like the ultimate fairy tale for adults, even complete with castles and kings and queens and princes and etc. Nicholas & Olivia are the unlikely couple, but they are perfect for each other.

I really loved Olivia's characters. She was feisty, sexy & blunt. She never sugar coated things, she would tell you like it is whether you wanted to hear it or not. When Nicholas came into her life, she kept strong and gave him a run for his money. I loved watching the wonderment of Nicholas's world through Olivia's eyes, but at the same time, it was like she stepped into shark infested waters. Olivia held her own against the nasty people in his world, and I loved her character even more for that. She never backed down and stood up for what she wanted.

Nicholas is just drown right sexy! He is charming, cocky, A PRINCE & yet he is different than what he shows everyone. Meeting Olivia was like a breath of fresh air in his stuffy world. She enticed him and made him want things that he had no right wanting. Throughout the book, we see the struggle within himself about wanting things he knows he shouldn't want and doing right by the people and queen. I loved Nicholas's brother and I am SO excited for his book.

The chemistry between Nicholas & Olivia burned bright and kept burning brighter and brighter throughout the book. The needs and the wants that were they brought out in each other was love and happiness and lust. These two characters have to navigate through politics and family and enemies just to be together, but they do it together and well, you'll just have to read the book to see the outcome!! This book had me laughing, crying, swooning & fanning myself. I am so excited for the books to come in this series!!

I love Emma and her books. Her writing is always fresh, funny and addicting. Royally Screwed is book one in the Royally series. And I finished it in one day. Laughed out loud, cried, got hot and bothered and laughed some more. Prince Nicholas is next in line for the throne. Something he's been groomed to do since birth. His younger brother is on the loose in the States and Nicholas needs to intervene. Since finding out he has to marry in five months, he's been on a bender and ends up in Olivia's coffee shop, drunk and sexy as hell. He's instantly attracted to her. She's real and there's something special about her. His charm and witty banter land him a pie in the face. But he can't stop thinking about her. He returns and decides he's going to just stay there and watch her until she relents. He wants just one date. Olivia can't get over how hot he is. His sexy voice does something to her. But all he can offer her is a short term affair and then he's gone. Will that be enough for Olivia? Can she live the rest of her life just having a few stolen moments with the sexy prince? Or is there a way they could have forever? I couldn't get enough of this couple. Nicholas is sexy, sweet, funny and wildly inappropriate but in a good way! Olivia is smart, funny and tells it like she sees it. She doesn't act differently just because he's a prince. Nicholas hasn't been this normal. Ever. And he loves the freedom. I didn't want this book to end! I want more Nicholas!

He has dimples - how did I not notice them before? They're the perfect foil to his f-hotness, adding a playful, boyish handsomeness to his already devastating impact.

"Are you trying to be cute?"
"No. I don't have to try…it just sort of happen."

"New Yorkers are cool about celebrity stuff."
He looks at me like I'm nuts. "Not the ones I've seen."
I shrug. "They're probably from Jersey."

My romance-loving heart is still sighing…even a week after finishing this book. Everything about this story is perfect. When the sweet, kind, swoonworthy prince whose loyalty to his people is unshakeable and the sassy, smart girl whose loyalty to her family is the priority in her life meet, their world will never be the same again. And my oh my did they grab my willing heart and take it with them on their adventure. I loved these characters and cheered them on through family issues, misunderstandings, and even when the world seemed to be against them. Nicholas and Olivia had spellbinding chemistry and were everything I look for in the “perfect” couple. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough the see what would happen next.

As I’ve come to expect from Emma Chase, this book was fun, sexy, sweet, and hot! The writing was fantastic…flawless and engaging! These characters had great banter and wore their hearts on their sleeves. They invited me into their private lives and I willingly jumped into the deep end with them…searching, as they did, for the happiness and love that seemed illusive at times but was oh so necessary for all of our survival. I adored the secondary characters and I may be just a little bit (or a lot) in love with Prince Henry, the wild, inappropriate, and sexy younger brother. I can’t wait for his story!

Actually, much as I loved Nicholas, I’m calling it now…Henry is mine!! ?

Even though, for most of us, life is not a fairy tale, this type of story can still tug at our heartstrings and put a dreamy sigh on our lips, especially if it’s done right…and trust me, this one is done more than right. With each Emma Chase book I read I become a bigger fan and this one was no different. So, what’s my bottom line? It’s simple – I urge you to take a chance on a sexy prince and an ordinary girl…take a chance on the fact that love can overcome anything…you won’t regret it! I promise!!

Royally Screwed is the first book in the Royally series and it is also the first book that I have read by Emma Chase, but now I want more.
This is the story of Prince Nicholas of Wessco and Olivia, just plain Olivia who runs Amelias, a coffee shop that has the best pies in New York. Since the Queen has put Nicholas on a wedding watch, and only given him a small amount of time to find a suitable bride, he heads to New York to find his brother, who seems to be in some sort of trouble. Once there, a drunk Nicholas ends up in Olivia's coffee shop, liking what he sees, and not expecting a "no", but also not expecting a pie in the face. Ha, most women curtsy but not Olivia, she quickly puts the charming Prince in his place. Knowing that his mouth got him into trouble because of the alcohol, Nicholas has to go back to apologize to Olivia, and that is when he realizes that she is not only beautiful and sexy, but she is so different from the women he has known. Time is short for Nicholas and Olivia, but they are not willing to let go of one another just yet. Between paparazzi, security, the Queen, and well meaning friends, just being together is sometimes hard to do, as Nicholas and Olivia soon find out. And sometimes things are better let unsaid, as Prince Nicholas finds out, when he opens his royal mouth before thinking things through for himself.
I loved this book, a fairy tale of sorts, with great characters that I cannot wait to read more about. I know that Henry's book will be fantastic because he is a character all on his own. I also hope that Ellie gets a book of her own. Five royal stars for this one, a very enjoyable read!!

You guys!! I loved this book so much it’s not even funny. I can’t hardly think of the words to adequately describe how this story made me feel. It was magical. It was delicious. It was a fairytale! Olivia Hammond is a current day Cinderella, a down and dirty New Yorker. She’s overworked, severely underpaid, struggling to survive and keep the family business afloat. Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook is Prince Charming and then some. Devilishly handsome, sexy as sin, fabulously rich, and has an absolutely wicked mouth. He was so much fun to read about.

Emma Chase has really emerged as one of my favorite authors. I can always count on her stories making me feel a certain way. Usually happy. Sometimes just content. This story was as uplifting as it was charming. I was so delighted and happy with how the story went. The ups and downs were well placed, deserved, important. Nothing contrite or frivolous. It was literally everything I expected and nothing like I could have predicted. It was pure contemporary romance with a side of sexy fun.

There were so many laugh out loud moments. I could definitely had more of Franny on my pages. But if that’s my only complaint, and it is, then I’m super happy. Even the sad moments of the story managed to elicit a few tears from my other cold heart. I’ve become numb lately…so to actually tear up reading this book was a great moment.

Delightful is the last word in my head to describe my thoughts on Royally Screwed. And oh my Prince Henry, I eagerly await your story!

I read my first book by Emma Chase in June of this year. I quickly devoured the rest of her books. I started with her Tangled series and loved that the first book was told solely through the male POV. It gave a whole different outlook and feel to the book. After I finished those I moved on to her Legal Briefs series, which I think I may have enjoyed even more. I absolutely love her writing style and storytelling. She has a unique way of blending humor with serious topics. So when the opportunity to read and review and early copy of ROYALLY SCREWED, the first book in a new series, came up I jumped at the opportunity.

ROYALLY SCREWED is full of the witty humor we know and love from her other books. This book has kind of a rags to riches, meets Romeo and Juliet vibe. Where two people who shouldn’t be together and have almost nothing in common, fall for each other. It’s the story of a modern day prince who’s been given an ultimatum by his grandmother, the Queen, and has only 5 months to continue his “free” lifestyle of a bachelor before he’s forced to settle down.

“If you were told that the world as you knew it – life as you knew it – would end in five months, what would you do?

Nicholas is sent to the states to collect his brother and take the Queen’s place for meeting with foreign obligations. He sees this as an opportunity to let loose and enjoy what’s left of his freedom before being forced to chose a wife. He never expects to find someone who consumes his every thought. Who he’d rather spend every minute with instead of having one night stands with women he’ll never see again. A woman who can match his banter and doesn’t take s*** from anyone.

“There are women who would give an ovary to keep me – half of them have actually tried – and this one’s tossing me to the curb.”

Olivia Hammond is a baker who’s just trying to survive. She doesn’t have time to commit to a relationship when every minute is devoted to keeping her shop afloat. Then one stormy night Prince Nicholas barges into her life and refuses to leave. He’s a prince and used to getting his way. As details of his past come to light she can’t help but feel connected to him. But is it worth investing her time in something she knows can’t last? You’ll have to read to find out what happens!

“Nicholas Pembrook hadn’t been so different that day. Not so different from me. Just a kid, trying his hardest to keep the family he had left from falling apart.”

I loved how Emma pulled pieces of what being a modern day prince must look like. With the intrusive media, paparazzi, the jets and expensive cars, and all the beautiful high-end jewelry and clothing. Emma does such an amazing job describing both New York and Wessco. It’s easy to picture yourself there as a bystander. I’m sure she had a lot of fun coming up with this world and I am SO excited to read Prince Henry’s story next. That one looks like it’ll be really fun. If you are a fan of Sexy Romantic Comedies, and I do mean sexy *fans self*, and a story with a HEA, I highly recommend that you check this book out.

I love Emma Chase books ,when I heard about her new series I was thrilled and when I got the chance to read the first book I dived into the story as soon as I could and I loved it royally screwed is an excellent story and an amazing start to the Royally series .

In this book we follow Olivia and Nicholas, the minute they had their first conversation with each other I was sold on this relationship. I was like you two are just so cute ,go get married , have babies and just go to be together forever. When we meet Olivia she's basically working at her family's restaurant and is basically holding everything together and just has so many problems to deal with. Nicholas is in a situation were he must get married not because he wants to but out of duty ,so I felt like Olivia and Nicholas meeting each other was the best thing for both of them . I love the romance in this book , it was hot and sexy,I enjoyed every moment I spent with this couple ,I was rooting for them no matter what happened in this book . I not only rooted for them as a couple but as individuals .Emma Chase creates such fantastic characters, it's just becomes so easy for you to become invested in them. I felt like I was immersed in the worlds of the Royals and I love every moment of it. I could go on and on about the many things that I love about the story. Royally Screwed is one of the best book I have read this year.

Royal Screwed was a sexy ,sweet , addicting, romantic story. I cannot wait to see what Emma Chase has in store next in the series ! this story was amazing! I could not put this book down .If you love all these things in your books I suggest you get a copy

I loved this book! I want to start off by saying that if you’ve watched the show The Royals, this book gave me similar vibes! Of course, the storyline is nowhere near the same, but still!

This is the second series of Emma’s that I’ve read. Her writing is flawless and this story was utterly captivating. You can’t help but fall for Nicholas (doesn’t high name just make you want to sigh…) and his personality. The connection that he and Olivia shared was heartwarming. She was able to give him experiences and moments that he had never been able to have before.

There were a lot of things that I could relate to with Olivia on a personal level. Specifically her feelings towards responsibility and feeling tied down to them even though there were others who could take care of that for her. Because of the connection, I was really able to enjoy the book that much more.

Both of these characters were perfect for each other. They were able to experience new things with each other because they came from different worlds. The story was going so well that I was just waiting for something bad to happen. And when that part came up, I knew right away how it would play out. During that part, we have to admire how strong Olivia was and at the same time want to shake Nicholas for even thinking what he did.

After all was said and done, I’m really happy with how it all played out! This story will keep you captivated from beginning to end and anxious for more! It’s definitely a page turner and a beautiful story rolled into one.

I can’t wait for Henry’s book!

What little girl hasn’t had a Prince Charming dream? You know, the one where you meet royalty and are swept off of your feet to live in a castle? Emma Chase takes this dream and uses it as the basis for Royally Screwed. I was definitely swept off my feet by the cocky and dirty-talking Prince Nicholas!

Olivia’s family owns a coffee shop in New York City. After her mother’s death, she is in charge of keeping her family and their business running. She doesn’t have time to date, so when a handsome man shows up on her doorstep, she doesn’t think anything of it. Little does she know at the time, he’s actually a real-life prince.

Nicholas is a bachelor, but time is running out on his days of freedom. While chasing after his errant brother in New York, he drunkenly insults a beautiful waitress at a coffee shop. Once he sleeps it off, he realizes the error of his ways and tries to make amends. Once he’s seen Olivia sober, there’s no stopping his lust to have her.

I loved every second of this story! It’s classic Emma Chase, from the excellent writing and storyline to the fantastic male point-of-view. Olivia is headstrong and fiercely independent, not bending to the will of anyone including a prince. Nicholas is definitely cocky, but he has a good heart and he knows what he wants. Their banter is killer and their physical relationship is hot. I loved it all. So, if you have a Prince Charming dream of your own, be sure to read Royally Screwed. You may never look at royalty the same way again!

Move over Will and Kate! There's a new royal couple in town and Nicholas and Olivia are my new obsession.
So I've decided that modern day Cinderella stories are my new fav. I love love love them.

So Nicholas is a prince. And he's totally Prince William but hotter. Sent by his grandmother to rescue his younger brother from his self destructive path, Nicholas finds himself in NYC. And he soon finds himself in the path of Olivia. Olivia is hard working, beautiful and strong. Taking care of her sister and father since the tragic loss of her mother- she shoulders the weight of the world.

When Nicholas swoops into her life- Olivia allows herself to have fun and live. And Nicholas does the same. But their fling has to have an end date. Nicholas has obligations as The Prince and Olivia - at the end of the day- is a commoner that cannot be in his life forever.

But what happens when you meet the person who you want forever and she doesn't fit in the box you have carved out for your life??

This story is amazing. Emma Chase excels at writing a story that is sexy and funny but more importantly- a story that sucks you in from the very first word.

I was so invested in the lives of Nicholas and Olivia that at times I forgot that they weren't real. This is easily one of my favorite books of the year and it is a firm reminder as to why Emma Chase is one of my top authors.

I cannot wait for the next book- Royally Matched-which is about the other prince of Wessco- Prince Henry.

ROYALLY SCREWED is a charming, fairytale-inspired romance that captivates and enthralls. The romance between a prince and a common American woman may seem old and used, but Chase manages to resurrect this trope with vibrancy and passion--both with the main characters and secondary characters. It was incredibly easy to get lost in this story, and feel everything it set out to evoke from its readers.

Emma Chase has a uniquely written male perspective that makes her novels such a delight to read. Because of that, Nicholas bears an incredibly real and down to earth personality, even for a prince, and I loved him instantly. He was playful, dirty-mouthed and -minded, while also managing to have such heart for his country and family. But what was more fun, surprisingly, was how much of a kick Olivia was. She had such a strong-willed personality that volleyed well against a man like Nicholas, who expects women to act a certain way around him. She was refreshingly crass and fiery. Together their forbidden romance elicited a fire that burned deep.

ROYALLY SCREWED has a wonderful love story that is reminiscent of any fairytale, but it adds the Chase touch to it which sets it apart from the rest. I loved the care that was taken into developing these well-rounded characters who had real flaws and normal problems which made connecting to them incredibly easy. I'm absolutely excited to continue on with this series and see where else we can be taken. Give me any book by this author and I will love it--this book is no different.

Prince Nicholas, heir to the throne of Wesscon, raised by his grandmother, the Queen, since the death of his parents 13 years ago, feels on his shoulders the whole weight of the realm responsibility, especially when his grandmother prompt him to take a wife soon.
In addition, he had to travel to the USA to get his younger runaway brother, Henry.
On a day of snowfall in NY, Nicholas and Simon, his friend, end up going into a coffee shop and Nicholas, having drunk too much at a party, didn't behave as it should and is expelled from the coffee by the owner, Olivia.

Olivia Hammond tries to keep the family with the head out of the water. Since her mother's death, owner of Amelia's coffee shop, Olivia's father drowns in drink for sadness. Her sister, very smart, is still studying, while Olivia need to get up at 4am to make the famous pie. Having a man offering money in exchange for sex was not exactly what she wanted, even if this man were gorgeous.

But this man comes back to apologize.

From the apology starts a friendship , and then the romance itself.
But Nicholas was a Prince and his country had strict rules about what kind of fiancee he could choose, and Olivia definitely did not fit the rule. What to do then?
They would enjoy it while it was Summer in his country ... and then ...

A cute story, full of protocol and romance. The end is absolutely shocking.

Spoiler Ahead This was a really good book. Crown Prince Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook or his Royal hotness was told by the Queen his grandmother that at the end of summer in 5 months that he has to marry and he doesn't take it too well, but duty calls. When he is asked to go to NY to reign in his little brother Prince Henry. While in NY he goes to a diner and in a drunken state he offer's Livvy the waitress 10,000 to spend the night with him she dumps pie on him. I liked Nicholas right away I what's not to like he's hot rich and a Prince. Olivia Hammond has had to grow up fast when her mother died she has had to take care of her little Ellie and her dad who is an alcoholic and run the family business the diner that her mother owned that's about to be foreclosed on. Nicholas was also had a tragic childhood his parents died when he was a kid and growing up in the spotlight isn't as all that great. I liked his friend Simon and his wife Franny I also liked her gay friend. I didn't like the Queen she was rude and not very nice to Livvy. Henry has a few problems after his time in the service. The sex scenes were hot the prince knew what he was doing. This book was well written or read as I listened to this book on audio. This was the first book in a new series. Henry is next and I am looking forward to reading or listening to that book.

I’m in love!! With this story, the characters and the author’s writing.
It’s my first book from Emma Chase and yeah, now I get why everyone was so excited. Her writing style, her imagination, the plot, the humor, well quite everything is magnificent!!!
One of those books you can’t stop reading!

This is the fairytale every girl dreams of. Finding their Prince charming and be loved for the rest of their lives!
But this one is even better, you see, this Prince is naughty, and hot! He has a naughty sense of humor and lines so cheesy that can melt you on spot. Oh and he is adorable!!!
So that’s why Olivia, a simple owner of a little coffee shop, gets enamored of him. That first time they meet is unforgettable! I think I would beat the crap out of him… and then I would lick him… yeah I would!

Written in a double POV, Nicholas give you everything he is. His thoughts are incredibly funny! He is a real Prince. With a Queen as a grandmother and a very bad boy as a brother always in some trouble.
Olivia is perfect! She’s very mature and strong, but Nicholas can bring the wild in her and I loved it!

So if you love fairytales, dirty mouth men and a lot of wild sex, try this book, you won’t regret it!!

I've heard nothing but great things about this novel since it's debut in 2016. I haven't been fortunate enough to afford a copy, so when the audiobook arrived in my Overdrive account from the library... I was delighted to no end!

I immediately set off to start listening to this story, really having no clue what direction it was going to go. I went into it blindly, not having read the blurb or any reviews. And I am so glad that I did.

Listening to the audiobook made me have even more feels as I traveled through this story. I think it made an even greater impact, even more so that if I had read it myself. The narrators did a fantastic job of bringing Nicholas and Olivia's story to life.

There was just enough angst and drama to propel the story forward at a steady pace. In fact, I was disappointed when it was over. I loved these characters so much, I didn't want to say goodbye.

Royally Screwed will go down as one of my Top Favorites I've read in 2017, Emma Chase does romantic comedy and devilishly hawt pretty darn well!

GOD, I think Emma Chases books just keep getting better and better and I really love reading her Male POVS! They are always the very best. Her men are always, funny, cocky but in the endearing way, somehow a bit alpha while still being sweet, and sexy as hell. And hearing their inner thoughts just makes me loves them all the more. She probably writes my most favorite men! And Nicholas is right up there!

"My dignity isn't for sale."
"I don't want to put my c(*& anywhere near your dignity, love. I just want to put it everywhere else."

While this story is probably one that we have all read in some form before, I still loved it and that is mostly because I loved these characters so much. Olivia and Nicholas were just everything. Their banter and even their sweet moments completely stole my heart. The brother, the body guards, the Queen. Everyone was so damn much fun! Especially Nicholas, I just loved him!

'If Helen lounged a thousand ships, this girl could raise a thousand hard-ons.'

This book set up future books perfectly too because I am positively dying for the next in this series. Fabulous cover, witty sweet characters, and so much steam. Emma Chase delivers again!

I’ve loved Emma Chase’s books in the past so I was excited to read a new series from her! I’ve never read a book about a prince, so this was a very interesting book for me.

Prince Nicholas goes to New York to find his brother, but he ends up finding Olivia first. What starts off as her smashing a pie in his face, ends up with her in his bed. They are two people who shouldn’t be together, but they can’t help but fall in love with each other.

I loved this book. Nicholas and Olivia were so perfect for each other - despite what his future looked like. There are, of course, road blocks on their road to happiness, and Ms. Chase’s writing makes you wish those roadblocks would just disappear because you don’t want anything to get in the way of their love.

This book definitely made me emotional. The writing makes you feel so much for these characters and what they are going through to be together. And the ending was just perfect. Well worth staying up late into the night for. I am looking forward to Henry’s book next.

An awesome book from Emma Chase.. It will bring out all kinds of emotions from you - from pity to anger to laugh out loud moments.
This is a story of a royal family wherein the Queen of Wessco throws down the gauntlet demanding ( not insisting mind you) that Prince Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook marry or else! She proceeds to tell him a list of suitable women has been drawn up and all he has to do is choose who amongst them he wants to marry. Nicholas is able to haggle ( for lack of a better word) with the Queen to give him 5 months to live his life before he has to do his "duty." The Queen then sends him off to New York to pick up his younger brother wild Henry who happens to be in New York partying after serving 2 years in the military and bring him back home. There in New York- one drunken night- he meets store owner Olivia. What can I say but he makes an ass of himself - propositioning her - one night for 10 thousand dollars. Money that Olivia desperately needs to save her store. Olivia Hammond, store owner who happens to make the best pies in Manhattan, bread winner of the family, the glue that holds her family together since her mother passed away.. I can't give you anything more because that will take away the thrill of reading this book.. But I should like to make a special mention of Olivia's sister Ellie - she was the character who really made me laugh specially towards the ending.. I would love to have a sister like her!
Thank you Ms. Chase for such a wonderful book.. Can't wait for the next one!

"You're stunning, obviously clever--you should date often, and preferably with a man who knows how it's done." I rest my palm on my chest. "Coincidentally, I happen to be fantastic at it. What are the odds?"
This is almost reminiscent of yet another modern-day Cinderella story. I began reading this story after seeing SO MANY people talking about it & raving at the story. Being the somewhat cynical romantic that I am (yes, the two can go together), I wasn't sure this was going to be a story I could get through without rolling my eyes every other page.

When I began, I was impressed at the complexity of the royal family. Each of the characters was facing their own troubles, the family itself wasn't perfect, and their monarchy was well developed. This intrigued me, so I kept going to see whether the characters could keep it up.

Although the story does follow similar to the tale of Cinderella (poor girl makes good), there were enough differences that I didn't feel up to my eyeballs in cliche. I most enjoyed that each of the characters really stayed true to themselves throughout the entire story. For Nicholas, that is a true feat since he is boggled down by so much obligation.

I totally enjoyed this story. I do have to say I was waaaaay more intrigued by Henry (Nicholas's brother) than I was Nicholas. That being said ... I may have dived right into the next one ;)

I loved this story from beginning to end. Very Cinderella. Nicholas is a strong, sexy, determined royal. He does find his way in the end. Loved the way Emma Chase played their lives out for us. She described the ups and downs of both classes and the burden of responsibility. The story was a break from my PNR adventures that I love. I wanted something different, yet exciting, and this was definitely it. Olivia is a wonderful women with life weighing her down. Nicholas was her breath of fresh air. The only thing that truly bothered me was when she had decided to stay. Seemed out of character. Fortunately, as life does, a wrench was thrown in. Well done. I loved all the characters. Including those surrounding the main characters. I could read it again. Or perhaps I’ll read Henry’s story. Interesting turn of events. Enjoy!

Emma needs checked for male parts, just saying. Her knack for writing the male point of view is outstanding. Her snarky, yet lovable characters, always push her to the top of my must read list.

Olivia and Nicholas are rocking more than the palace with their funny wit and sex appeal. Nicholas stands as the strong patriarch of the family. He is fighting for individuality and the harder he tries, the deeper he's pulled in. Olivia, a matriarch in her own right, just wants to pay the bills. Her personal happiness isn't even on her radar. That is until she meets Nicholas. Together, their love affair is enough to make any girl feel like a princess, but not every fairytail ends in happily ever after.

Emma's new series has something for everyone. You will see the Emma we have come to love through the Tangled Series, yet experience a fresh look on this modern day fairytail. Although the story was predictable at times, I loved it all the same. I am looking forward to book two and more of naughty Henry.

Shame on me, but it was my first book from Emma Chase. I heard good things about the Tangled series but until now, I just didn’t read from her although I have all of her books. But I love these prince/princess stories so I knew I have to read this one ASAP.

And I got a sweet, amusing, passionate story. It was all I wanted right now. I got to dive into it and I really had a great time. It was perfect. The story was magical, the characters were adorable, there was a little twist, too. And my face was blushing so many times!

Nicholas is my new top BBF. This dirty talking prince took my heart! I loved Olivia, too. Oh, and my favorite was Henry.

I can’t wait the lil’ bro’s story!

Royally Screwed was not at all what I thought it would be. I kind of thought it would be light-hearted and funny. There were parts that were humorous and there were parts that were extremely sexy but I couldn’t help looking at it with a wee bit of a heavy heart. The more I got to know both of the main characters the more sympathy I felt. This wasn’t just a story of the Prince riding in on his charger and saving the day. There was definitely reciprocal savings needed.

Olivia works at and runs the family coffee shop. She also makes pies…a lot of pies. Her day starts at 4 o’clock in the morning and doesn’t finish until late. Work is her life. Olivia doesn’t get to take time off because her father and sister depend on her. Ellie, her sister, is finishing off school and is destined for further education. Their father, on the other hand, is still recovering from the death of their mother. His recovery is taking a wee bit too long in my opinion.

So, Olivia has a full plate and not a lot of time for fun and frivolity. When an extremely handsome man comes into the diner with a few other blokes, she has no idea her world is about to change…forever.

Prince Nicholas so and so from so and so is always being watched (too many names and I couldn’t remember the spelling of the place). He’s used to it but it doesn’t mean he likes it. His Grandmother is the Queen and Nicholas, next in line to the throne. Now, to start with, that doesn’t seem too bad. Destined to be King, watched by a few million people…hmmm, I could do that…I think.

Let’s add to the equation his parents died when he was 14 and his younger brother seems to have gone off the rails. Oh, and Granny is a bit of a tyrant…who talks to paintings.

Hmmm…maybe not so easy after all.

Nicholas and Olivia’s first meeting was not a fairytale start. Nicholas is a douchewaffle and Olivia doesn’t have the time or energy to put up with his arrogant behaviour. She sends him on his way but can’t forget him.

Nicholas was a wee bit two sheets to the wind when he sees Olivia and acts very badly. When he sobers up and remembers the encounter (with a little help from his mate Simon) he is horrified and determined to make amends.

What follows is my kind of fairytale sweeping her off her feet apology. The more time they spend together the more they enjoy each others company. But, Nicholas knows he can’t plan on forever with Olivia.

I loved Royally Screwed. This is the best kind of angst that sends me into emotional overload. Yes, I get a little frustrated but not to the level where I want to throw things or I want to castrate the next bloke who walks in the room. And hubby is very thankful for that.

Royally Screwed had characters, main and additional, that were amazing. The sizzling chemistry between Olivia and Nicholas was off the charts. I was sucked into the storyline from the very first page until the last. Overall, it was a great reading experience.

I haven’t read a lot of Emma Chase but I will definitely be reading more soon…ish. Henry’s story is going to be awesome. As soon as I “met” his heroine, I knew I wanted her to have a happy ever after.

This was another book where I had heard great things and saw it pop up at the library, so decided to pick it up. And I'm glad i did. I am a huge Emma Chase fan, so I was excited to see where she was going to take us on this Royals cruise.

This is going to sound really really strange. But I am glad that when our two main characters meet that she didn't bow down and kiss his feet. I mean hearing that voice did things to her. but the proposition, that was one for the books... literally. Definitely a way to make a first impression on a girl. Oh Prince Nicholas, what will we do with you. Well, dirty, naughty things, but that's a given.

I loved how Emma didn't make this easy on them. The Queen dismissed her like she doesn't matter. Her dad is never around to handle HIS business. And she is carrying loads of stress on her shoulders. Then you throw in that hottie Prince, and our poor little Olivia sure does have her hands full now, doesn't she?

And Nicholas, the Prince. A wild brother, not knowing what is going on with him. Snooty friends, a grandmother who dismisses and insults Olivia whenever she can. Oh but at least we have the hidden path. There's always that.

Add in Simon and Franny, Harry and his antics and Olivia and the Prince have something going on every time they turn around. But the end. What he does. I was mad at first. How everything went down. I mean it must have been the poor girl. If you don't have money, you MUST not know how to be loyal. Like those two go hand in hand. I was so UPSET for Olivia. And then all the sudden he sees the truth and just wants it all fixed? Just, snap of the fingers? The poor little Prince finds that not everything happens how he wants just because he said so.. for some reason I said that in a British accent while I was typing it. . weird. Anyway. I wanted to stomp on his foot, so quick to jump to conclusions. Every one is so quick to blame. I couldn't believe no one, after all the people she had met, had stood up for her. Stood with her. I'm sorry but Harry's "you're making a mistake" didn't cut it for me. I wanted more. I mean Olivia was such a good person so EVERYONE she met, no matter what, and no one could stand up to him in his fury, prince or not? I just.. needed someone to stand for her. Then he pulls his grand gesture , and boy was it grand. I felt like fireworks should have gone off in the background. Bet good ol' Queenie didn't see that one coming.

I loved this book. The narrator was good, the accents by the narrator really makes you feel like you're listening to a movie. Any time you have a good narrator who can nail accents, doesn't make it feel so much like a book anymore. It makes it feel like someone is sitting there with you, telling you their story. Makes the characters feel more alive.

I really liked this book. I give it 4.5 stars!

I listened to the audio version of Royally Screwed and let me just say that it was one of the best ones I’ve ever heard. Olivia is trying to keep the family business going when she meets Nicholas. Little does she know that the drunken idiot is really Prince Nicholas. I loved what they brought out in each other and that we got to see the “laid back” version of the prince. Even though he is royalty, he had an amazing sense of humor. They both had me LMAO for a majority of the book. When the S*** hit the fan I was so invested in both of them that my heart broke. I’m sure we’ll be seeing them again in the rest of the series and I am excited to devour it.

I loved the beginning and the end of this novel. The middle is where I the fifth star was taken away. Although a good bit happened throughout the middle and we meet more characters and we get to know more about them, I felt there were a few too many sex scenes, or just small things that they did I felt we didn't really need and it was kind of just filler information.

That said, the end of this novel was EPIC! Once everything started to implode I couldn't put it down. I *had* to know what would happen and how everything went down.

I adored Olivia, she was such a strong woman, she went through more than I could and had more of a backbone than me, but I love and need that as a heroine in the novels I read. I can't stand a weak female in fiction. And Nicholas, well he takes his duties as the future king very seriously and adore how much he loves his kingdom.

But, will Nicholas choose his kingdom and their archaic rules or will he choose his true love?

Swoon swoon swoon! That was the perfect love story all, little girls are dreaming about. . Emma Chase brought to life an old fantasy. Who never imagine being a princess? I know I did.
Nicholas and Olivia's story was just perfect in every way. I think this comes out to be my fav' book by Emma Chase, even before Drew! ... I know unbelievable.

"If you were told that the world as you knew it-life as you knew it-would end in five months, what would you do?"

Royals have lives behind what we see and despite what some might think there have their owns wills, their owns issues, in fact they are real people just like us. They might be blessed by fortune but they are also crushed with responsibilities and duties.

Nicholas is the heir and is expected to be a King one day. He has obligations and his life is lead by the law. His grandmother, The Queen, gave him an ultimatum. In 5 months he needs to announce his upcoming marriage. But He also needs to look after his brother Henry, who's living his life in New York. That's where he met Olivia

Olivia runs he own business of making pies and coffee. Its not flourishing but she manages to keep it a flow. When she meets Nicholas, she doesn't know who he is, so she treats him like everybody else.

As a European girl I know some about royalty with the Windsor family in England. I even suspect some ideas were taken from their lives. As I turned the pages, I got more and more addicted to know what will happen and how it would be possible for these two to be together forever.

Emma is an endearing character; she is simple, living her chance to be with Nicholas, never demanding always so understanding with everything around her.
She quickly becomes an evidence in Nicholas' life and no one could threaten what he feels about her.

I fell for all the different characters as well. Ellie, Olivia's sister is sweet and Manny was the friend we all want. I wish we can have their own story someday. But for now, I'm thrilled and eager to have Henry's story who's going to be - IMO- all emotional

I’ll be honest. I totally picked up this audiobook because of Shane East’s voice. I saw someone mention it in an audiobook group and thought I’d give it a whirl. I listened to the sample and that man could read a dictionary, coding textbook, or even the phone directory. I.DO.NOT.CARE. Flat, don’t care. I would willingly listen to him talk all freaking day long. But that’s why I bought the book.

Once I started listening to it, the story was really funny and a little sad all at the same time. I really enjoyed the chemistry and the way the two main characters fed off one another and that’s not to mention once you get Henry involved and his constantly calling Olivia “Olive”. I think I gigglesnorted my way through one of the final conversations between Nicholas and Henry, and Mr. East’s reading of it was so amazingly spot on and funny.

Speaking of the voice actors, because that’s what these two are. They didn’t just READ the words…they acted them out for our ears. I had moments where things got so steamy I had to fan my face. And this isn’t from Mr. East reading it, but rather Ms. Arndt. She’s awfully talented at voice acting/narration. Oh holy smokes! And Mr. East, who seems to be fairly new to this, is really freaking awesome as well. Believe me when I tell you that the sample is just that a sample and not the true showing of how talented this guy is.

Ms. Chase can write an intensely funny book. She has a way of making the character interact that feels organic and they feed off of one another. So you might have your staunch characters and your comedic ones, but they’re in constant flow and they all dance together in something almost magical. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed Royally Screwed. I can’t wait until Henry’s story in Royally Matched. Though I hadn’t read the words of this book, I do definitely recommend the audiobook.

This was just what I needed.. a fun, sexy, easy read.
"He doesn't belong to you. He doesn't even belong to himself."

I really was very sceptical about starting this book. I'm a huge fan of the Royal Family, particularly the Princes, and I really wasn't sure how this author was going to pull it off. Was it really going to be authentic? Well, I didn't need to worry. Yes, some things may have been hugely exaggerated, and not at all how I think of the Royal Family, but that is exactly what made the book work. It didn't have to be serious. In fact, it kind of made me think of our Royal Family in a whole new light! And I'm not gonna lie, I totally pictured Prince Harry as Nicholas the whole way through.
"I was known before I was born and my name will be blazoned in history long after I'm dust in the ground. Infamy is temporary, celebrity is fleeting, but royalty.. royalty is forever."

Ah.. Prince Nicholas. What a fine specimen he turned out to be! Can you literally imagine just being at work one evening and some gorgeous hot guy coming in, trying to work his magic on you? That is exactly what happened to Olivia, only it took her some time to figure out who he was. I loved it! It truly made me question, the whole way through, whether this is how the Royal Family behave LOL. It made for quite the entertaining read.

Of course our Prince and his lady don't have it all worked out and their journey is far from plain sailing, but I loved it! I did have a few eye roll moments, things I thought couldn't possibly happen in a million years, but again all that did was make the book that little bit more entertaining and light hearted.
"I smile - and I know it's radiant. Because that's how I feel. Right now - in his arms. Lit from the inside like a luminous shooting star that won't ever dim."

The book had a number of secondary characters that were interesting all in their own right and I'm so looking forward to the author writing their books and finding more out about them. This looks to be a really great series.

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person – Dual

Prince Nicholas Pembrook of Wessco, has duties as a child of a royally family. His parents passed away and it was just him; his brother and his grandmother. Nicholas knew what was expected of him but that didn't mean he was ready to take the throne until it was time. However; time was something his country aka queen grandma didn't have and he was basically cornered and given an ultimatum.

Olivia Hammond; is a waitress running her family's business. The loss of her mother destroyed her father leaving her alone to take care of the business. She has a teenager sister but she couldn't possibly ask her to drop her school duties to help her. One snowy day prince charming shows up to her small bakery and her life was changed in a good and bad way.

Nicholas was pretty wasted when he first meets Olivia and their first encounter didn't go very well for him. Olivia was the kind of girl that doesn't have time for guys and being a play toy. She also had responsibilities that prevented her from taking care of her love life. The chemistry between these two was inevitable though and the more time they spend together the more they can't stop it. However; this was only supposed to be temporary. At first Olivia was clueless of who Nicholas was and once she found out she still treated him the way she did from day one and he liked that about her. For the first time ever he felt free to do what he wanted and he knew that no matter how long if it was only for a short time he wanted it to spend it with her.

Olivia didn't want to spend the time with him knowing they couldn't be together but at the same time she knew she would never get this dream to spend time with the most gorgeous man and prince for that matter one that every woman fantasize about. Olivia took the risk and took his deal. Nicholas was incredible and when it was time to part ways he knew he was Royally Screwed because he knew he would never be able to be happy without Olivia.

This book was such a refreshing reading packed with humor, sexy and steamy scenes, and overall I enjoyed it a lot. It was about finding true love even if that meant giving everything up for it and making sacrifices. I am so excited to continue the standalone series and can't hardly wait to read Nicholas brother's story. That one should be interesting and I just can't wait.

A copy was gifted to me, thank you so much!

✮ (¸.•'✶ "Infamy is temporary, celebrity is fleeting, but royalty…royalty is forever." --Nicolas

The nation, according to reports was waiting for Nicolas, AKA, "His Royal Hotness" to find a bride and wed. Since losing his parents years prior, the Prince has been speculated about. And now his grandmother, the Queen, has him in a chock hold... "...you will announce the name of your betrothed at a press conference…at the end of the summer." With five months before applying himself to a life time of duty, and recovering a brother who excels at making an even bigger spectacle of himself, Nicolas finds himself in the one city he hates above all.

"I happen to think that everything and everyone can be bought, for the right price." --Nicholas

Olivia has no time to date. She is too busy making ends meet, taking care of her family and keeping the family business afloat. When a handsome man enters her establishment, she can't help but swoon a little. When he propositions her for one night, Olivia is quick to point out "My dignity isn’t for sale," then proceeds to pie him in the face. Talk about who run the world, LOL. Turns out, once she finds out about him, Olivia cannot deny the attraction between her and the Prince from across the Pond. They begin a clandestine affair that is doomed from the beginning.

"I’m getting married."

After a harrowing incident, Nicholas decides to be truthful and open. Olivia knew theirs was not a forever kind, but after giving herself freely, the thought of losing her Prince Charming was heart rendering. Then Nicholas does the unthinkable when he is called back to the palace. He brings Olivia along. Several tenacious months later, all hell breaks loose and the cloth is rendered. Now it is up to Nicholas to do the right thing and fight for what he wants.

Told most of the time from Nicholas's POV, Royally Screwed is like a scripted reality television show with ripped from the headline tales. And that ending, ah, heartfelt! I am now vested and must continue the trilogy to see how it all works out. For this, I have to roll my eyes at Jaime whom I work with. If it were not for her weakening me with a book I wanted desperately, this book would have passed me by. And my group at ABC knows my feelings about M/F books. I am eating crow as I said I had not found a "breeder" book that I have enjoyed in forever and this one was enjoyable. #MMlover sitting on the #MFfence.

M/F Romance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads

Nicholas is going to be king. With that comes obligations that he knows about, has been groomed for and understands. When his grandmother allows him to be in the states for the remainder of his "freedom", what he doesn't expect is to come face to face with someone who he can truly love, but can't have.

Olivia is responsible, dependable and always does what's right. She has kept her family moving forward even after the untimely death of her mother. Despite her father's spiral in to a depression, Olivia has kept her sister in school and their business running. When an arrogant man walks in to her shop - she blows him off. Despite her attraction and realization that she hasn't had a date in forever, she knows he'll only be trouble.

This is a very Kate and William type story. The prince/King not only falls for the girl, but whisks her away to show her his homeland. Despite some hiccups, a grandma who is not all that lovely and I sometimes want to slap, this story has a lot of emotion and heartache.

I like how you get to see the story from both perspectives. I think that it helps figure out each characters' mental state and why they do the things they do. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book with Henry.

I was so happy this wasn’t a trilogy, which seems to be Chase’s go to format on a lot of books lately.  Nope, the entire story is in one book; I loved it!  And let me just say I loved the story.  It is everything I have come to love from Chase’s writing, funny, charming, sexy, with characters I fell in love with, it’s the all-around great contemporary romance.

Andi Arndt is once again a brilliant narrator who can do no wrong and Shane East, is just wow.  This is the first book I have listened to him, and I am a fan.  His voice is yummy with a side of yes more, please!  I am going to add him to my list of narrators I drool over.

This is a light and fun contemporary romance that was a total escape, and I am going to continue with the series.   I am giving Royally Screwed 5 Boundless Stars; I loved

A feel good read that will pull at your heartstrings, Emma Chase’s Royally Screwed is pure, unadulterated romance. I finished this book last night and as I turned off my e-reader I realized that plastered across my face was a huge smile and as I woke up this morning, I could have sworn that the birds were singing as I glided across my bedroom floor. Oh yeah, I may have taken the whole princess thing to another level. This modern day fairy tale is sweet, witty, and tantalizingly sexy I was bewitched truly and fully. I couldn’t get enough of Olivia and Nicholas.

Like all Disney princesses, Olivia Hammond the lead female protagonist in this fairy tale has been handed the short end of the stick in life. Losing her mother tragically causes her entire life to unravel for the worst. Day in and day out she lives to care for her younger sister and her grief stricken father, never taking any time to live for herself. I absolutely loved Olivia. Her unyielding perseverance and loyalty along with her ability to love thoroughly is exactly what Prince Nicholas needs in his life. And without even knowing it, Nicholas is exactly who Olivia needed to give her the love she so greatly deserved. Now I’m not even going to lie, I’m shamelessly obsessed with the idea of the Royal Family and Royally Screwed gave me the opportunity to dive into what could possibly go on inside the mysterious royal palace. If the real royals are anything remotely like Prince Nicholas, then by golly sign me up to partake in anything and everything that happens in the royal chambers. My goodness you guys, Nicholas is not only swoon worthy but he is SO drool worthy too!!! It was the way in which he looked at Olivia and the hunger he had for her that made me fall hopelessly in love with the guy. Prince or not, Nicholas had me so completely ga-ga over him.

The pull that Olivia and Nicholas had for one another was addictive. You could feel the fire between them; the innate need to be around each other and to have total control over one another. I was hooked from the moment that Nicholas stepped into Olivia’s NYC coffee shop during one snowy night. I loved that things weren’t always rainbows and unicorns between them because the hardships that befall them became a great part of their story. Those hardships made those pesky tears to spill from my eyes and to pour down my cheeks a good couple of times in this book. But the best part about having to suffer through them is the reprieve that follows and Emma Chase soothes the pain so superbly. It allows readers like me, to get the full experience. The oohs and the aahs alongside the boos and the hoos. A beautiful balance of the good and the bad to get to that eventual happily ever after.

I relished in the splendor of Emma Chase’s take on a royal fairy tale. I fell in love with Olivia and Nicholas and their love story. Royally Screwed to me is Emma’s greatest work yet. It touches on everything that I love in a book and I cannot wait to re-read this one time and time again. This has my book shelf worthy stamp of approval and most definitely stands as one of my all-time fave reads.
A Prince and a beautiful American commoner from the big city who not only do naughty and delicious things to one another but who love each other so much that it proved that their love knew no bounds… What more can a romance junkie ask for?

Ahhhh the things you do for love....
This is the very first thought that comes to mind when I finish reading the book. It's so magical and enthralling I was so addicted right from the very first page. I feel like I was a child reading a modern fairy tale it was so freaking good I was so in love right away. That feeling when you were on a journey with prince and princess you feel like it's Cinderella and Sleeping beauty rolled into one with a very hot alpha prince and steamy and scorching scenes and a love story so magical and inspiring...DREAMY!!!

First few pages and I was in for some entertaining journey into royalties. With a story telling so vividly written, I much appreciated everything. First with that cover that made every bookwhores googly with their eyes and panting for lust with such a masterpiece, I admit I am one of them and when I read this line,
"I love my bed. It was an eighteenth birthday gift from the King of Genovia. It’s a four-column, gleaming piece of art, hand-carved in the sixteenth century from one massive piece of Brazilian mahogany. My mattress is stuffed with the softest Hungarian goose feathers, my Egyptian cotton sheets have a thread count so high it’s illegal in some parts of the world, and all I want to do is to roll over and bury myself under them like a child determined not to get up for school."
Oh how I thought of selling my arm just to get to duck on those covers or roll over with the prince and lick him all over. Damn!another book boyfriend!!!Another damn because Emma Chase really has a way with words and that cover just made sense.

With everything in my power, I stayed late into the wee hours because I just cannot put the book down. I have smile and laughter plastered in my face. I keep on turning the pages because I was so entertained I had so much fun my excitement on how everything will turn out is evident on how I devoured every words and lines. It was not just funny and sexy but it was more. It's so adorable and sweet even lighthearted weighed so heavily. It was flawlessly written and shows Emma really has a way with words. This line made me even chucke, "If Helen launched a thousand ships, this girl could raise a thousand hard-ons." and I might have almost highlighted every lines. I am just so damn in love with everything. Even the secondary characters had a very special place in my heart. And when I finished it, I realized this is just more than a modern fairytale, this is more than just anybody's childhood fantasy, this is more than just "prince meets waitress story" because what I just read is a definition of what you can do, sacrifice and give up for love. For Nicholas and Olivia, what started off as a drunken proposition for a one night stand to wooing and fling turned out to be so much more. In as much as chemistry is concerned they cannot go wrong.Their's is not just undeniable, their perfect for each other and them together is just explosive. Five months is more than enough for feelings to grow, but what can they do when even law prohibits them to be together? When their doom from the very start? Olivia's a commoner, while Nicholas is a royalty, Is love enough to conquer all?

I'll leave it here when I can go on and on because I want you to have a full time experience but please let me atleast scream this on top of my lungs,
THIS IS EMMA CHASE WITH HER ROYALTIES AT IT'S FINEST!!! SHE NAILED IT AND OWNED IT LIKE NO OTHER QUEEN CAN!

This is essentially a Cinderella-type story but not like anything else I ever read. Nicholas Arthur Fredrick Edward Pembroke is the Crowned Prince of Wessco. His fans call him "His Royal Hotness" ( see pic above as it is spot on accurate to the description in the book). He is gorgeous, intelligent, witty, pervy, and a bit of a jerk. He is perfect! His grandmother, The Queen, has decided it is time to unify the country and boost moral and the best way to do that is a royal wedding, naturally. She gives Nicholas 5 months to find a suitable bride and then sends him to NYC to find his little brother and bring him home to deal with the fallout from all his current partying. Nicholas and his best friend wander into a coffee shop and stumble upon Olivia Hammond. It doesn't take long for the first of many indecent proposals and witty banter to appear.

Oliva Hammond has been living a very uneventful and stressful life. Her mother passed away unexpectedly years before and left Livvy to finish raising her little sister Ellie, taking care of their Dad and keeping the family coffee shop afloat. She is so focused on taking care of everyone else that she forgot she deserves to be taken care of too. The night Nicholas walks in changes her entire life, even before she knows he is royalty. She just sees the man behind the image and responsibilities. She loves what she sees.

The story is told from both POV. Sometimes this just gets confusing but not in this book. The individual voices of each character are so clear that I swear I could hear them in my head like I was watching a movie. Complete with their respective accents. I was hooked from page one.

This is book 1 in a new series with the 2nd and 3rd scheduled for release in February and June. Who is gonna preorder? Oh yes, this girl right here.

Royally Screwed is the first Emma Chase book I have read and let me tell you, I am kicking myself for not reading her books sooner. I will definitely be going back and reading her other series. I loved this book!!!

If you are a fan of the movie The Prince and Me, then you definitely need to read this book. Yes there are some similarities to the movie, but there were enough differences also to make this story its own. This story was a funny, sexy and overall entertaining read. I absolutely fell in love with both Olivia and Nicholas. I found Emma’s writing style very easy to follow. The pace and flow were perfect for this story. I loved that Emma was able to touch on all my emotions while reading this book. I was laughing one minute and then I was heartbroken and had tears in my eyes. But I did end this book with a huge smile on my face.

Royally Screwed is the first book in Emma’s newest series. The Royally Series consists of standalone novels, but will have interconnected characters. This first book is about Nicholas and Olivia. Nicholas is the Prince of Wessco and the next in line for the thrown as king. Nicholas has always known what his life would be like, but when his grandmother, The Queen, drops the bomb….he has to get married. Not only that, the Queen wants him to go to the US to get his missing brother Henry and bring him home. This is when Nicholas stumbles across the wonderful Olivia. Olivia is a woman struggling to keep her family coffee shop above water. She is also trying to make sure her younger sister has the life she deserves. When Olivia and Nicholas first meet…it’s not love at first sight :) That day Olivia’s life will change forever and she doesn’t even realize it. I loved the banter between Olivia and Nicholas. I also loved that Olivia was a relatable character. She felt like someone I could be friends with in real life. She is hard working and selfless. Doing whatever she can for others. As for Nicholas, even though he portrayed as a bad boy, there was something so enduring about him. I fell in love with right from the start.

What happens when a “common” girl and a Prince start to fall for each other?? What happens when that girl is trust into his Royal life? Can Olivia and Nicholas make it with everything that stands in their way? You’ll have to read this refreshing, fun and sexy story to find out those answers.

I will say that we are also introduced to some really great side characters. I loved Henry, Ellie, Simon, and Franny. I liked that we get a glimpse into the next book, which is Henry’s. I look forward to Henry’s story and where Emma will take us.

This story wasn’t overloaded with a lot of excess drama, but just enough to keep you reading and rooting for Olivia and Nicholas.

I would recommend this book to everyone!! Definitely one of my favorites this year :)

One of my themes that I am such a sucker for is Royalty, I love reading books that feature a royal family and even more so tales that are like Cinderella stories. I am such a romantic at heart and think that the Cinderella themed story is one of my romantic fantasies. When I saw that Emma Chase had a new book out , I knew I had to read it as I have enjoyed her Legal Brief series. In Royally Screwed we met Prince Nick aka Nicholas who has been sent to America by his grandmother who is currently Queen to go and collect his younger brother Henry who is your typical Prince Playboy. His grandmother though just before he has left has given Nick some news - he has to get married in six months time and the conditions are someone who is a Virgin, a native to their Kingdom and preferably someone with a title or royal lineage. Nick himself has never really been one to settle down as he enjoys playing the field and having no strings attached fun. That is until he arrives in New York and finds himself in a small Pie shop run by Olivia. Their first meeting isn't perfect as he propositions her and ends up with a pie in his face, but their is something about Olivia that has drawn Nick in and he wants more. Olivia has always been the responsible one in her family , running her parents business and giving up her plans to provide for her family after they fell apart when her mother passed. As the book goes on, we discover that what Nick and Olivia have is more than just a one-night stand and the pair come to a compromise to spend five wonderful months together. However of course, we can see how this is going to end up as really, why do people think that they can just walk away and not get hurt or fall in love when they are the whole person's world for five months or for how ever long the arrangement is for ? When news is splashed against tabloids and Nick blames Olivia, has he lost her forever or was it perfect timing as now he can focus on his Kingdom ? Will Nick chose love over responsibilites , will he follow his head or his heart ?

Royally Screwed was an amazing , fast-paced and romantic fairytale read with a few LOL moments. A Perfect fairy-tale /royalty read that everyone should add to their reading lists.

“Royally Screwed” is a deliciously new cheeky satire!
A sultry new spin on an old fairytale classic! With a prince charming AKA Nicholas and his fair maiden Olivia. They lead us on a world wind fairytale romance! Throw in the Royals and there is bound to be some drama! Yet is superbly entertaining. With a HEA!

With precision timing, witty charm, sexy and marvelous blend. Emma Chase has clearly brought us a new over top Hit! One that is so understandably all hers. “Royally Screwed” will have every god forsaken romcom fan busting up!!!

It surely will become new top selling series. Yes, one I personally couldn't get enough of!

I've always been a fan of Emma Chase. From the very first time I read her I was captivated by her style of writing. The witty banter back and forth, the steaminess of her naughty scenes, the strength of her characters.....I love it all. So, when the opportunity arose for me to be able to review the first in a new series, I was all over that bad boy. (Pun intended. Lol!!)

Of course the setting of the story is a little far-fetched but I think that the story was well written all the same.

Rich and wildly handsome Prince is given an ultimatum from his grandmother, the Queen of their country, that he must marry at the end of the next five months. Say wha??? Of course this news is somewhat similar to the feeling of slamming your finger in between the car door!! And Prince Nicholas does what any man- royal or not - does; he attempts to live it up for the next few months and go wild before his partying days are over.

Olivia is doing more for her family than most people would do. After the passing of her mother, she was left with the responsibility of running Amelia's, her mother's legacy coffee shop. Olivia's dad fell apart the moment his other half disappeared from the planet and Olivia's younger sister, Elle, is so focused on her last year of high school, that no one notices that Olivia if stretched to the max- mentally, physically and financially!! She's doing everything she can to keep the coffee shop running.

Nicholas and Olivia's romance took me by storm and I even had moments of pure bliss, pure annoyance....ack! Towards the end my emotions really got the best of me (no crying or anything but my chest did get tight in a couple of spots). I was surprised by the ending only because I never saw a few of those parts coming.

SOOOOOOOOOO looking forward to reading the second installment to the series!!! Read it.

Happy Reading!!

Emma Chase writes the male POV like a boss. Anytime I start one of her books, I look forward to reading it because of this. I know whatever she writes will be sharp, fun, and sexy. Royally Screwed is a charming tale of a prince and a waitress who meet by chance and fall in love. Their unexpected meeting turns into an epic romance.

Nicholas Pembrook is the crowned prince of Wessco. He’s young, handsome, and has the weight of the world on his shoulders. With being a prince, there is a lot that is expected of him. How he behaves in public, who he will one day marry, it’s all supposed to be a certain way.

Olivia Hammond works at and runs her family’s coffee/pie shop in New York City. She’s stressed out and run down. She also carries the weight of the world on her shoulders. One snowy night when she’s getting ready to close shop, two men come in. Nicholas is one of them. He is drunk, yet endearing. He has a sexy smile and a fabulous accent. But Olivia doesn’t have time to entertain him. She has more important things to worry about. So she totally shuts him down. I absolutely loved their first meeting.

Nicholas is persistent though. He doesn’t give up after that one meet. These two seem like such an unlikely pair, but somehow, they work. They click together. Nicholas and Olivia know they can’t be together for the long run. They only have an allotted amount of time. But neither one can deny the connection they have. When that time for it to end is on the horizon, Nicholas isn’t sure if he can let her go. But what choice does he have?

I adored Nicholas. There were moments I was like WHAT?! And NO!!!! But by the end, he 100% won me over. Olivia was fantastic. There wasn’t anything about her I didn’t love. She was a strong and independent woman. Also, I really enjoyed many of the side characters. I’m glad we are getting more books in this series (Royally Screwed is a STAND-ALONE, the next books will be about secondary characters).

Emma Chase delivers a fun, sweet, steamy and enchanting romance with Royally Screwed. I adored this story and it left me with a huge smile on my face. 4.5 stars!

Olivia, a twenty-something New York girl, has been running the failing family coffee shop/bakery since high school with no hopes for anything better when the drunk Prince of "Wessco" walks in one night and propositions her. She shoves pie into his face. Pretty much everything you think is going to happen from there happens, but this author somehow manages to make it fresh and entertaining.

This book is really good on audio (the guy who narrates for Nicholas has a great accent). For the most part, i liked the characters; Nicholas is actually kind of sweet and he isn't an a-hole throughout 90% of the book, which for whatever reason, seems to be pretty rare for this genre. I started out really liking Olivia, but i have to say, she DOES become a bit of a pushover throughout the story, and I found the way she just threw caution to the wind sometimes really annoying (i almost felt like she lost all self-respect near the end). However, I thought the fact that Nicholas didn't treat her like crap throughout 90% of the book made up for it. One of the few times he DOES treat her like crap it's so completely out of character and forced that i didn't really care (heh, i guess the plot's gotta move forward somehow). Could it have been done better? Sure, but to me it was such a small part of this book that i just didn't care.

The one thing that did leave a bad taste in my mouth was the way this chick goes back home with Nicholas and basically becomes his trophy girlfriend. Like she literally sits around all day, trying on clothes, and getting primped and groomed for hours so she can go hang on Nicholas' arm at parties and dinners. It was just weird because it seemed like she was living such an empty existence (depressing, even!) but i don't think that's what the author was actually trying to portray! But whatever; this is contemporary romance and I guess you just have to expect that sort of thing from it. I'm a sucker for Cinderella stories so i guess I just didn't care.

I debated for a while before picking this book up because I’ve stayed away from the “royals” trope that’s popped up recently. I just didn’t know if it was going to work for me. But if there was someone that I was open to trying was Emma Chase for sure. I’m so pleased to say that the reservations I had about reading this had no place in this story.

One of those things was an immature read about a privileged and spoiled royal. No immature characters here! Nicholas is surprisingly centered, with the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. He really made this book for me because I fell for him right away. He’s the right combination of confident without being cocky, daring but cautious about his celebrity status. So perfectly balanced.

The second worry I’ve had about this trope… angst. Maybe it’s because this is contemporary romance instead of new adult, but ROYALLY SCREWED is quite angst free. There’s obviously some tension with the fact that the Prince falls for a simple NYC baker with no money and an alcoholic father, but the angst I was worried about was nowhere in sight, so I was pleasantly surprised about it.

Like I already said before, the hero of this story hooked me in. But the romance and the easy chemistry between Nicholas and Olivia was a lot of fun to read. This was a fast and adorable read that kept me turning the pages. If you are looking for something a little different than the same old same old plots, then give this a try.

This is the best royal-commoner romance I've read to date, and I've read several.

WHAT I LIKED...
The realism of Prince Nicholas's character and his primary conflicts. The conversations he has with his grandmother, Queen Lenora, were brutal but felt real.

The combination of adorably sweet and very sexy writing this author is somehow able to pull off with ease. This story definitely has a fairytale feel with an erotic undercurrent that doesn't seem forced or out of place.

I also loved the full cast of supporting characters in this story! I actually think they were underused a bit, especially in the first half of the story. (Or maybe that's just because I have a thing for broody security guys...)

WHY I'M NOT GIVING IT 5 STARS...
I wish Olivia's character would've retained that spunk she had on full display during the meet-cute. There were situations later in the story where she reacted in a way I felt were uncharacteristic for who I believed/hoped she was.

Also, there was an aspect to the resolution of the black moment that I didn't love. I'll keep this spoiler-free by not saying what it was, but it did take away some of the feels for me with the ending.

RATING: B+ (4½ stars)

Swoonworthy - that's a good word for this book.

I don't love or even like every of Emma Chase' books. But I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Not sure if any of it would be considered a spoiler, so please be aware.

Nicholas had one filthy mouth, which I adored. He fell in love with a commoner, what a non-surprise, and swept her of her feet and after some wooing flew her to his future kingdom to spent the rest of the summer. Olivia is a sweet, down to earth kinda girl. Hardworking, but when introduced to Nicholas, she is open towards a summer fling with the naughty prince. She wasn't naive, instead she entered the affair with open eyes and a good solid idea how it would end.
I liked that both were upfront with the limits of their "relationship". Of course, rather sooner than later feelings take over and they are pretty deep into each other. I saw the big calamity coming as swift and non-stopping as a train wreck.

Nicholas's grandmother doesn't hold back with her displeasure or with what she expects Nicholas must do at a new conference in 6 month time. Instead of putting his foot down, or finding alternatives (hello European royals marry commoners all over the place), he bowed to his grandmothers verdict. The ending was pretty smooth going, quick groveling, make-up sex and eventually the wedding.
For me reading a book like this is for entertainment value only. The writing flowed. Quick witted and funny the story held me captive until the very end. I listened to it since my library had only the audiobook available. Both narrators did a marvelous job.

(This book is better than Tangled…and Prince Nicholas is better than Drew.)

There…I said it and I’m not hiding behind my kindle to say it (mostly).

Ms. Chase has absolutely done it again with this book. She has written the perfect story with the most perfectly imperfect characters. She has again given us a pompous, self-righteous, gorgeous, endearingly sweet yet sometimes ignorant Prince (literally). She has also given us a strong, independent, beautiful and vulnerable would be princess…from New York.

Nicholas and Olivia are perfect for each other…they share a witty banter, off the charts sexual chemistry and a pure, unadulterated love that can’t be broken by royal rules (right?!?). Ms. Chase effortlessly showed us the chains that bind both Olivia and Nicholas, while worlds apart, are identical and both somewhat heartbreaking. They show each other how the other half lives and it is fascinating to watch each of them learn the sometimes harsh realities of the world while enjoying the unrealistic glamour of it.

The supporting cast is outstanding – all of them. We even get the quintessential gay best friend but this one is better because he isn’t the stereotyped flamboyant, over the top gay best friend. Henry’s story is next…and you can bet your sweet a$$ it’s going to be amazing and a must read.

The bottom line is: you have to read this book. You will sigh, cry and laugh out loud. And you won’t regret any part of the time you spent inside this story.

Olivia is struggling to keep her mothers pie shop open. Which isn't easy when she doesn't have the help she needs and she's beyond stressed out. So when an arrogant, too good looking, man comes into the shop and suggests she sleep with him for money, she's done. She throws a pie in his face and tells him to get out. She never would have guessed that he'd return, or that he'd be a Prince with a very serious proposition for her.

Shockingly this is my first Emma Chase book. I have a few other of her on my tbr but I've never gotten around to them. I am definitely going to try to rectify that situation very soon though because I loved her writing. She made it very easy to believe in this made up country and a fictional Royal family.

These characters were well written and I easily got engrossed in their lives. I loved that Nicholas wasn't some stuck up, rick Prince that would be a brat when he didn't get his way. Instead he was hard working and cared about the people in his country. He and Olivia were perfect together and I liked seeing her let go of her independence just a little. She didn't let Nicholas control her but she would give in sometimes and let him take care of her. It was great to see her being taken care of instead of being the one taking care of everyone.

So here's my issue with the book. Emma Chase made it way too good! Now I'm just left wondering where my Prince is to come sweep me off my feet. It's not fair that this isn't real.

4-4.5 stars. A new book by Emma Chase with the theme surrounding royalty - definitely a combination that I cannot resist. Prince Nicholas is living the royal life, full of privilege, observers and responsibility. He's groomed to become king one day and while Nicholas understands the burden ahead, he is most certainly not thrilled at the deadline decreed by the queen (his grandmother) about needing to marry a princess as soon as possible. If there's one thing that Nicholas feels most stifled by in his life, it's lack of choice or the freedom to truly express himself.

While Nicholas is in America, he meets Olivia Hammond at her family's bakery. Olivia is very independent, loyal, self-sufficient and hard working. Despite the time limitation, Nicholas chooses to spend the remainder of his bachelorhood with Olivia. And in true Emma Chase fashion, there's a lot of humor, sexiness and literary entertainment. Royally Screwed switches POVs between Nicholas and Olivia and their distinct voices portray the obvious obstacle between them despite the developing romance. That Nicholas is royalty and Olivia is not. There's no future for them so where does love fit into this? How much can Nicholas dictate for his own personal decisions vs for his people? I enjoyed getting to know both main leads and if you like fairy tales or royalty themes, this should not be missed, complete with a cast of engaging secondary characters.

So I've been on a "royal" kick lately. I think it's mainly because I've been waiting foreveeeeer for the next season of The Royals. This book couldn't have come at a better time. I devoured it and loved every second.

Olivia and Nicholas both have obligations that are forcing their life to go in one direction when they want to go another. Olivia has to handle the family business and Nicholas has to ascend to the throne and get married. Right now they do have the summer and they are taking advantage of it.

I loved them as a couple. I really liked all the side characters and I can not wait for the book about Harry. I would have liked to have seen the beginning of the book flow as easy as the rest of it. I think that was it's only down fall for me.

Grab this one and enjoy, I sure did!

Was the story a little cliched? Yes it was. A prince meets a common girl who has money problems while on a bride hunting quest, they have great chemistry, but they are not able to be together because she doesn't have royal blood. The end could go on a couple different ways and I liked the path the author chose for this story. It wasn't a bad thing though. I loved the story and I was devouring it until a thought crossed my mind. I remembered that a second book was a coming in the series and I was dreading the ending of this book. I didn't want it to end with a cliffhanger because I couldn't handle waiting to see what Nicholas and Olivia would have to go through. I wanted them to have their happy ending badly. As it turned out the next book will be Henry's and is coming out very soon (Jan 2017). Guess who added it to her TBR list.

I liked Olivia and Nicholas both as a couple and as separate characters. The secondary characters were also very interesting and I was wondering if Olivia's sister will also get a story. I read the book in two sittings and I enjoyed it very much. I am looking forward to seeing them in the next book and see how they are doing with their lives after everything that happened.

If someone asked me if she/he should buy the book I would definitely say yes. It's light with a little angst, it has humor and pies. They pies always win me over.

First of all who does not love a story of royalty falling in love with a commoner... cause that is what this story is.

Nicholas is a prince... an arrogant one at that. He happens across a pie shop and makes an offer to the owner. Olivia has no clue who he is but will not be swayed by a cheap proposal of sex for money.

The rejection intrigues Nicholas more. The more Olivia keeps Nicholas at arms length the more he wants her. She finally gives in attempting to enjoy the short time frame. She figures she is not of caliber and will enjoy the moments they share until they are over.

But both feel something deeper. Can circumstances prevent these two from a long term relationship or will they just leave their short time romance and relish it for what it is?

This was a very pleasant surprise. Yes, it uses the predictable Cinderella trope but you won't care because it's done so well. It's lighthearted, super sexy, and very, very funny! The characters here shine so bright. From our hero and heroine all the way to the supporting characters (Henry! Franny! Marty! I LOVE them all!). Olivia, our heroine, is one of my favorite heroines of the year. She's got spunk. And who wouldn't want a Nicholas? He's ridiculously sexy with just the right amount of arrogance. His sarcasm and dry humor crack the hell out of me. Consider me a fan. The ending is predictable but not too predictable. I can't wait for the next installment. If you want a book that will make you smile and laugh and take your mind off the real world for a few hours then go give this one a try.

I am totally fascinated by all things royal. It's the dream, every girl wants to be a Princess and to find her Prince Charming. This book definitely fed my fascination!!! I loved it.
Prince Nicholas was not Prince Charming he was a a bit of an #sshole at times but that made me love him more.
Olivia was an American commoner!
They were what fairytales are made of. I was in love! In love with the story! In love with the characters!
This book had everything I could want in a romance. A bit of a bad boy changed by love, a sweet story, angst, make me mad ready to choke a character moments, happy tears, sad tears and even a vicious ex.
The fact that this is the first in a series has me ecstatic! I am so in love with these characters and now I know I get more!!

I got such a kick out of this book - as a fellow satirist, I do get it. But also, I'm on her side - it was refreshing to read her brilliantly amusing take on the royals. I laughed out loud (not LOL - really laughed!) at the bits about Millie and Chuck, probably because I completely agree. Emma made the excellent point - something I've seen NO one else mention - that remarriage to a divorced woman with a living spouse was Out Of The Question for Edward VIII but seems to have been "no biggie" for Charles. Also worth noting, she pointed out Charles' ecological views as opposed to the enormous carbon footprint of his gigantic properties. If you want a history text, this isn't it. If you want a hilarious spoof on the British royals, you've come to the right place!

This is a sweet, sexy and fun standalone book about a real life Prince and an American woman working hard in a family owned New York pie shop. The majority of the book is light hearted and funny, but it does have some serious and emotional moments as well.

The story is split between her New York home where Prince Nicholas is a visiting dignitary sent to bring home his younger, wayward, playboy brother. After Nicholas meets Olivia, they spend time together and care about one another, she follows him home to Wesco. They both know the Prince is bound to pick a native bride or nobility in a few months. In spite of the ticking time bomb, the heart wants what it wants. Sometimes love just can't be denied. Want to know how they will manage it? Enjoy this fast paced, sweet romance.

This book is fun, fluffy, and funny with just the right amount of sweet and sexy, which is exactly what the doctor ordered. It didn’t score a perfect 5 because it does get a tad too superficial at times and I never quite warmed to Olivia. I mean I didn’t hate her, but she’s one of those heroines I’ll probably forget. Sarah pops off the page more beautifully in her one scene that Liv does in the entire book.

My favorite part of the book however, was Nicholas, even though he was jerky multiple times. I loved his hilarious internal monologue and his scenes with the Queen and Henry are the best in the book! I might even listen to the audio immediately just for Shane East’s voice and that accent...sigh. Henry and Sarah and Logan and Ellie all endeared themselves to me and I can’t wait to read their stories!

This book was delightfully OK. I almost gave it 3 stars, but I felt like that would give the impression that I didn't enjoy reading the book, which isn't true. I read the book in a day. It was a fun and fast read (view spoiler).

There was nothing outstanding about this book, perhaps except for the fact that the author was able to take a cheesy subject and a predictable plot with potentially dislikable characters and made it enjoyable to read. Nicholas was cocky and rude, yet I didn't hate him -- actually liked him -- even when he was being somewhat vulgar and douchey. The main character wasn't very complex, but she didn't annoy me.

This is the perfect palette-cleansing book.

I think it also helped that I went into reading this book knowing that it was going to have a certain level of cheese and predictability. And I was definitely in the mood for something quick and easy.

ROYALLY SCREWED by Emma Chase
Do you remember the fairytales of our youth? How we fell in love with the prince? how we saw the poor beautiful girl becoming the princess with the beautiful wardrobe? How we wanted to slap the vilains? the way we dreamt to be that princess?
We have all that in this book! But we are no more kids so... the prince is a lot sexier (the king of bed!), the princess is stronger (but still with a heart of gold), we cry a lot more (i did actually) and we also laugh. No little funny animal here, but second characters really funny or lovely. And i can't wait for Henry's story !!
The magic works perfectly!
Thank you Emma Chase <3

I absolutely love well-written love stories that involve royalty and Royally Screwed completely fits the bill. Royally Screwed is about the Crowned Prince of Wessco, Nicholas who is being pressured to perform his royal duties one of which is naming a soon- to- be wife. Possibly a future queen.

In addition to that, he is tasked to find his wayward brother Henry and this is how he comes across the alluring coffee shop waitress Olivia Hammond. I do have to admit I wasn’t entirely too convinced how Nicholas and Olivia would work since they literally were from completely different worlds.

Emma Chase, however, persuaded me otherwise and she did it as easy as pie! In every sense, these two were made for each other. Fated. Destined. Soulmates. PERFECT. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

Impressive. This is what I would choose if you asked me to describe Royally Screwed in one word. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. Every single aspect of this book was way beyond my expectations. Loved every moment….Pick up this book NOW!

Emma, what a way to start a new series!! As I was reading Royally Screwed, all I kept thinking about was William & Kate meets the movie, The Prince & Me. I am obsessed with all things royal and this was a perfect book for me!

I have to say that Emma Chase has to be one of my favorite authors who write primarily from a males POV. She has mastered it! It took me a bit by surprise to see that in Royally Screwed she wrote dual POV's (Prince Nicholas & Olivia Hammond). Emma nailed it.

Prince Nicholas has told by his Queen (his grandmother) to announce who he will marry and he has only a few months to find his wife. Little did he know that he would find his forever in an American girl, Olivia Hammond.

".... she's not asking me as my grandmother --- she's telling me, as my Queen."
~ Emma Chase, Royally Screwed (Royally #1)

Royally Screwed maintained Emma's whitty writing with characters that stick with you. I can't wait to see how this series continues.

Emma Chase delivers in this lively, fun, and charming story about a handsome prince and a not-so-royal love interest. Nicholas meets and tries to woo the lovely Olivia, a girl who is no nonsense and has no time for a charmer. However, not even she can be immune to this handsome hottie, and a fun quest begins of a girl and a boy falling for each other. But Nicholas isn't just any other boy...he has responsibilities...that involve an entire country, and Olivia can't fit into that plan. Thus, both he and she are just royally screwed...
This book was so full of heart and as charming as each character. I found myself falling in love with every single one. I can't wait to read more from Emma, and can only hope her fingers can fly over her computer to bring us more. Fall in love with the Crowned Prince of Wessco!! I certainly did!

Royally Screwed by Emma Chase (Audio Edition)
Narrated by: Andi Arndt , Shane East
Series: Royally #1

5 Stars - I really enjoyed this book!!! The whole prince in love with a commoner trope, did make me hesitant at first but I kept seeing these good snippets on Facebook around the book's release day and I just couldn't wait to read it.

Nicholas was great, just arrogant enough but was still compassionate and had all the qualities one would want of a future king. Olivia was realistic and amusing. Together they shined. At one point in the book it was a “stop-everything-and-just-stand-in-the-middle-of-the-living-room-holding-the-vacuum-and-listen” kind of moment - which I loved …. A lot.

The narrators did a fantastic job! This book is written in alternating first person points of view and having both a male and female narrator made it a wonderful easy listen. Very glad I bought this book and I am thoroughly looking forward to the next one in the series!

I took a chance on this "romance" novel since it got such high praise. It was 1/2 off on audible, so I went for it. After getting about 10 chapters in, I bought another audible copy for my friend for Christmas. The audio book has great narrators, and their performance adds so much emotion and life to the story. I can't count how many times I laughed aloud or cried while listening.

The story is just awesome on it's own, however, and if you read the book you won't be disappointed. The characters are realistic, round, and dynamic. There isn't a whole lot of cheesy, typical romance fluff, thank goodness. Instead we get believable characters, interactions, and plenty of dirty, adult content. A few plot twists will keep you on your toes, and even minor characters are fleshed out and play important roles. The best part of this book is that it switches back and forth between the guy and the gal, so we are able to see into both of their heads. As a result, we can enjoy a deeper (no pun intended) connection with the characters. If you're considering this one, buy it!

What a fun read.

We have Olivia and Nicholas. Olivia lives in NYC with her Dad and sister while working at their diner; and Nicholas is a prince, heir to the throne. There is no way they could be together outside of their little bubble.

There were so many ups and downs for these two, I truly wanted their love to prevail, but there were too many obstacles. :-( I loved Nicholas when he was with Olivia, nothing like he showed the world and I could understand his struggle in choosing between his country and his heart.

I loved Olivia as well, such a selfless character, that I loved that she took a little for herself, she totally deserved it after all the work she did for her family.

In the end, there were quite a lot of surprises, one in particular I only hoped for but never thought it would come true.

Lots of laughs and swoons and some drama too. I truly can’t wait for the next books in the series.

I don’t usually use the terms ‘adorable’ and ‘hot’ to describe the same thing, but for some reason those are the first two words that come to mind now that I’ve finished reading it. It’s a modern-day Cinderella retelling but there’s nothing Disney about this version. It’s sexy and funny and loaded with emotional drama. Olivia’s the sweet, sassy everywoman and she’s easy to connect with. Nicholas is a little harder to pin down. He has a nobility of character, in his way. He’s devoted to his duty to his kingdom, and he’s survived a difficult childhood, but he spends a lot of his time acting like an arrogant jerk. I enjoyed watching this pair fall in love and learn what’s really important in life.

What a naughty prince. While Nicholas has always done what was asked of him, behind bedroom doors this prince was not so prim and proper. Though now that the queen has ordered him to marry, things seem even more out of control. There is only so much a man can give into before he loses himself.

Meet Olivia, a Brooklyn native, down on her luck, regular lady. Quite the opposite of all that Nicholas is used to, and such a breath of fresh air he just needs. Talk about a whirlwind romance. Though I have to admit, these two are so nauseatingly cute together. Not the mention those bedroom scenes, holy royal hotness!

Royally Screwed is a modern-day fairytale! A story for every woman who has ever wondered what it would be like to fall in love with a prince.

I’m very looking forward to Royally Matched. Henry is quite the troublemaker, and I can bet it’s going to be an entertaining read.

OMG!! I loved every word! The best book I have read in months!
Nicholas is a royal heir and his grandmother, the Queen, has given him six months to get married.
He travels to New York to meet his brother, Henry, who is partying all the time and doesn't care about family obligations. His story will be on the next book in this series. And it looks like it's going to be really good.
In New York, Nicholas meets Olivia, who is drowning in debts because her coffee shop is not doing well. And although she admits he is gorgeous, she is not that impressed by him.
The banter between them is very funny. But as their story goes on, they must fight all the complications they find on their way.
As I said before, this book is fascinating. February can't come son enough to read Henry's book!!

Paperback copy was won from a giveaway not affiliated with the Author/publisher. This is my honest review.

This was my first Emma Chase book and by the end of the book, I was sad it was over. It started out as just another book to read, something to get me over my last book hangover, but it ended up being so much more. It starts off a little quirky; Olivia is a unique character. I loved Nicholas's smart mouth, whitty comebacks and cave man tendencies. And Olivia, that girl can dish it out just as much as she can take it. Its humorous, sappy, heartbreaking, and breathtaking. There are so many different elements than this being a book about a prince and a commoner. There is diversity, friendship and just like any social circles, hate and ugliness. There is a twist at the end of the book that makes it that much better. I am most definitely looking forward to more from the 'Royally' series!

I really enjoyed this story! It was fast paced, sweet, charming, sexy, with a bit of angst/drama thrown in! I've always loved a good royal book and this one sure didn't disappoint!

Most of the time, I loved Liv. She was strong, fun, witty, and brave. Then there were times I thought she was being....I don't really know the word I'm looking for. Naive and a bit too forgiving too quickly I suppose work well. Oh well. The story can't drag on too long during a makeup scene, so it worked.

Nicholas was arrogant, funny, charming, dirty-mouthed, naughty, and sexy. There were many times I wanted to throat punch him, then others I wanted to swoon over his words and actions.

All in all, it was a happy ever after, and I can't wait to begin book 2!

I loved this book! The characters, Olivia and Nicholas were brilliant! I loved that Olivia is doing it really tough while trying to keep her family's coffee and pie shop above the water while not being able to really live. In comes Nicholas one night, off his face drunk, and they immediately realize the chemistry between them.
Nicholas is a prince and has been told that he has to marry by the end of the summer. So he decides to live it up as much as he can before he's forced to wed someone he doesn't know. When he meets Olivia he comes alive! They experience so much fun and when Nicholas is called back to his home country, he asks Olivia to come with him.
I loved the struggle that these characters went through and how the story ends is brilliant! Loved the twist!
I can't wait to read the next one!

I LOVED Royally Screwed!!!! Olivia and Nicholas were both adorable characters. I loved the premise of the story and how it all played out. Nicholas is the Crown Prince and must marry a woman that meets a lot of certain requirements. Olivia is a New Yorker who is running her family's failing diner. She doesn't meet any of the said requirements. They fall in love, but the relationship must come to an end since she's not appropriate for marrying. I loved Prince Nicholas and his brother Henry. I also loved Olivia and her sister Ellie. There were several side characters I enjoyed too. I'm anxious to read Henry's story and I'm very curious to see who the third book is about. Hoping it's Ellie because she was pretty funny. I highly recommend this book to everyone, it was very entertaining.

I'm finding it hard to put into words how much I loved reading this book. I laughed. I cried. I loved the characters - not only the Hero and Heroine, but the side characters too. I'm trying to think of a criticism, something to detract from my happiness bubble. But all I can come up with is that the next book hasn't been published yet. My con is that I have to wait. With only months left of freedom before being forced into an arranged marriage, the arrogant Prince Nicholas unexpectedly meets his match in an American girl, the beautiful & spirited Olivia. Add in sparkling secondary characters and this Prince & the Pauper meets Cinderella story is one delicious read!

OMG Emma Chase has done it again!!! With two AMAZING series under her belt, I wasn’t sure where this one would go. IT WAS JUST AS AMAZING. A modern day anti fairytale at it finest, you will be sucked in from the very beginning and will not want to put it down. It was perfection and different from her usual books. The witty banter was off the hook and the love story is one you will fall in love with. This was a wonderful break from everyday life, especially if you have ever dreamed of being a princess.

The experience of reading a book usually comes down to three things for me.

First, characters. That connections with the characters is the most important piece for me. And I truly did love these two. Nicholas has been raised a Prince and as nice as that sounds, in reality it's a royal pain in the a$$. But he's developed the best qualities from it and I adore his protective, loyal ways. AND he's one HOT royal! Definitely has some dirty, sexy ideas. I may never look at shaving my legs the same way again. And then there is Olivia. She's a New Yorker and is barely getting by. But she has the backbone to get things done and she is one of the good ones. True and human through and through. Together, these two have some serious heat - maybe a bit too much for me - but sexy sparks are in every possible way and place. Hehe

Second, the story. Great characters are important but if their story falls short, what difference does it make. These two have an emotional story that is jammed full of lots of joy, love, pain and happiness coupled with an impossible situation. Yeah, this story will suck you in and have you stuck in it's pages.

Finally, the writing. I consider several things with this one. What person is it written in? How well does the writing help me connect to the characters? Did the author tie up all the strings for me? Where there any glaring errors that had me taking pause? Mostly, I was happy with this aspect of the book. It's written in third persona with alternating points of view. I enjoy that type of third person the best. I still felt very connected to the characters. Perhaps my one problem were a few loose ends. I still want to know a couple minor details that are sprinkled throughout the book. Nothing major, mind you, but I always feel a polished author ties those all up for the reader.

Overall, this book is a sexy bombshell that's waiting to go off in your hands (or eReader as the case may be). I read it quickly and thoroughly enjoyed it. It sets the stage for Prince Henry's story and I definitely want to read that one.

It would make the coldest nights thaw for you so if that's your thing, pick this one up!

If I was having a conversation about romance authors and someone mentioned Emma Chase the first thought to ring in my head would be - funny. Her books are synonymous with the term romantic comedy as she crafts laugh out loud stories that pack a heartfelt punch. Having written some of my favorite romcom male point of view stories to date I jumped at the opportunity to review an advanced copy of Royally Screwed and figured it for a home run.

Well, turns out it was more of a line drive double than an out of the park at bat. In fact there were some really touching moments (re: Nicholas' past & Olivia's home life) and lots of humor provided by a delightful cast of secondary characters. However, I just wasn't feeling the chemistry or romance between Nicholas and Olivia.

Now, I can get down with a good clichéd storyline but this one seemed to take on way too many for my liking. Class warfare, fairytale, fling, forbidden love, orphan. I enjoy reading many of these tropes but it's easier to love them when the author puts their own kind of secret sauce to the recipe. And I figured Emma Chase would deliver her signature humor and heartfelt touches, but alas, the dialogue wasn't firey, the chemistry at a simple simmer and the romance ho hum. It was just okay. I was entertained more by Franny, Simon and most particularly Henry and his story. I want that story. I need it, like yesterday.

Emma Chase knows how to write entertaining and hot novels so I was curious what she can bring us in a modern fairytale.
Well she happens to create another enjoyable read. Royally Screwed was full of fun, swooning romance and scorching sexiness. With one word? It was charming! Also I guess it was a bit cheesy mainly due to that grand gesture in the end but I was more than ok with it.
Actually I'm so hooked on this royal thing now that I can't wait to start Henry's book.

It all begins with a heated look and a conversation that might not be expected of a prince.

But we all know that the best fairy tales are the ones that are just a tad different and little bit on the dirty side.

Their story is one that is sweet, schmexy and royally screwed at some points.

Sweet as pie and hot as spice is this fairy tale rendition that'll make you swoon and leave you with an ending to remember.

Overall I found this a very enjoyable read that I would definitely recommend. Although the part between ending and epilogue did leave me with some questions that I'll love to see answered at some point.

Royally Screwed is the first book in the Royally Series. I love Emma's books so when I saw that she was writing a new series I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I know that I will be going on a hilarious and sexy ride that I won't ever want to get off of. And once again, I was not disappointed. This is Nicholas and Olivia's story...

Wedding Watch. Prince Nicholas loves women but only for one-night and a signed NDA. He is not ready for marriage but his grandmother the Queen has other plans. She is also sending him to New York for royal commitments and to find his brother, the wild Prince Henry and to bring him home. And since Nicholas doesn't tend to say what he really means, he is off to New York with his best friend Simon by his side. The Queen might have a plan and so does he. To do what he wants until the day he has to announce who he is making his princess. It's time to get pissed and to unexpectedly get rejected.

Olivia is a New Yorker through and through. She doesn't hold back, she tells you how it's going to be. She lives with her father and younger sister and runs their coffee shop. With bills piling up she is stressed but determined to keep the shop open and her family together. One snowy and very slow night she hears a voice that catches her attention. It's smooth with an accent and it instantly makes her melt. After some flirty and inappropriate banter she walks away from the sexiest man she has even seen. He had potential until he made he feel like trash. After throwing a pie in his face she didn't expect to ever see him again. But this Nicholas guy had other plans...

Nicholas wants Olivia. Bad. He wants her under him. On top of him. And in every position she could bend. He also wants to know her which surprised him most. She rejected him. She wasn't afraid to say exactly what was on her mind even after finding out who he is. She will not bow to him. And that is exactly why he wants her. He thought one night would be enough but it was far from it. Their chemistry was too hot. Their banter was too much fun. She got him. She didn't look at him like a prince. She looked at him like Nicholas. The confident, dirty talking, sweet, over-protective and sometime a-. They knew they only had the summer but when their time is shorten, their plans are derailed. But it's not the end...yet! It's time to meet the queen. But what will happen at the end of the summer? Can they just walk away and remember it as the best summer of their lives?

I loved, loved, loved this story! Nicholas is not only his Royally Hotness but he so much more. He is very confident but Olivia brings out the best in him. The real him. Not the Prince that he is expected to be. Olivia is a breath of fresh air. She wants to experience everything with him but doesn't care about his title. She just wants him. His dimples. His cockiness. His sweetness. And even his a- tendencies. Together, their banter is epic. Their sexiness is thrilling. And the wooing is beautiful. I loved every minute of their story!

Overall...it's the perfect start to a new series! I laughed. Cried. Got hot and bothered. It was a magical experience. I can't wait wait for the next book. Henry is wild, funny, and a bit broken. I know it's going to rock.

Quotes:

“Am I supposed to curtsy or something?”
“Please don’t.” And then the dimples make an appearance. “Unless you have the urge to do it naked, then, by all means, curtsy away.”

“Whipping boy?” Martin pipes up, raising his hand. “I volunteer as tribute.”

“So, what do you think?” Nicholas whispers against my ear, giving me goose bumps.
“I think…I know how Alice felt when she fell into Wonderland.”
He winks. “We’re all mad here.”

Nicholas is a honorable, loyal Prince who needs to settle down for his country, but is not ready to. Olivia is a hard working NY waitress who is trying to keep her families business afloat. When they have a chance meeting on a snowy night at Amelia's it is anything but a fantasy. Nicholas fells bad about is stuck-up drunk attitude and pursues Olivia.
Sometimes the fantasy comes to life and sometimes it was clearly never to be...
I would Loved to be Royally Screwed! One of my absolute favorites so far this year!

This was an instant favorite. Emma Chase continues to surprise me with amazing stories. And Nicholas - Like serious, has Emma created a man character that I haven't loved till date? And the heroine was such a sweetheart - These two were made for each other. But what I like most about Emma is how each one of her characters is special. Her side characters are so very crafted and each one adds something different to the story.

If you're looking for a light, sexy and romantic read with witty characters, read this one.

Sexy, sweet, and witty. Just what Emma Chase does best!

Prince Nicholas gives Prince Charming a run for his money. He’s used to the flashing cameras and being in the public eye, and though it’s taxing for him, he’s well aware it’s a part of his life. He’s a deeply loyal guy with a big heart. He truly cares about his people which is of course so endearing. His confidence and charm are attractive, and that adds to his good looks. He’s grown up knowing that one day he’ll be the reigning King, and he’s learned to embrace it. But when he walks into a coffee shop, he begins to rethink his purpose in life.

Olivia is a sweet girl who works in her family-run coffee shop. In comparison to Nicholas, she’s a common girl who can’t live up to the standards of what the Prince needs. Her selfless, kind, and hard-working personality shines through and immediately enthralls him. Despite initially lacking any interest in the gorgeous, accented man, she can’t help succumbing to his charms.

Nicholas is persistent and determined to have her when he sets eyes on her, and once he really gets to know her, he realizes there’s no way he can’t be with her. Their interactions gave way to some really great banter between them. These two had something beautiful and powerful together, and it was worth the obstacles they faced.

This standalone is a lovely, lighthearted romance with a perfect balance of drama and tension on all fronts. The supporting characters were important additions to the story and gave some nice prep for the next book. I enjoyed the character and plot development that evolved beautifully throughout the novel’s progression. There were also some surprising elements that worked well into this love story.

Audio Book Review!
This book was amazing. Royally Screwed was just sooo good. The narration was outstanding. The characters were just so enjoyable. Main and supporting cast. I loved them all. The plot was juicy and filled with all the good stuff you'd want and expect from this kind of trope. I didn't want this book to end. But I didn't want to stop listening to it. Romance, romance, romance. Argh! It was just sooooo lovely! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Royally Screwed is like the perfect adult Fairy Tale with sex and dirty talk thrown into the mix. Nicholas was the perfect mix of cocky and sweet thrown together. Though some may be thrown off by Nicholas’s personality, it made sense as pretty much his whole life he was being trained to become the next King. I loved that Olivia was the perfect match for him and would go toe to toe with him. She saw him for more than just his title and for the person he was deep down.

My first Emma Chase book and it most definitely was a royal surprise.

This was more than just a typical love story featuring a prince of a foreign country and American girl. It was a love story about two people battling with acceptance of their situations while hoping to defy the odds.

There was so much background and fun, random (probably fake) historical information that kept me even more hooked on this story.

It was addicting, it was sweet, and it was humorous. Throughout the seriousness I still found myself laughing because Chase is witty and one-liners are my favorite.

This book was sitting on my TBR forever, I don’t know why it took me so long to read it! The prince falls in love with a commoner storyline is such a good one and surprisingly one without a lot of options out there.

The characters were really interesting and likeable. I liked how the story spanned months so it wasn’t like they ended up where they did after just meeting each other. Henry was really great too, I can’t wait to read his book next. That should be interesting!

This was, in every sense of the word, a modern fairytale and I really really love a fairytale.

We all know the story of Cinderella and whilst there was no transforming pumpkin or lost slipper, to me this book had a very Cinderella-esque feel to it.

Here we have the first book in a series which centers around a royal family. The main characters of this book being from two completely different worlds. Olivia, maker of pies in the struggling family business in New York and Nicholas, Playboy Prince and heir to the throne of an entirely believable, but fictional country. It's when Olivia and Nicholas meet that this book just kept getting better and better.

Initially I wasn't a huge fan of Nicholas and felt Olivia, despite not being from a life of privilege, had more class in her little finger than Nicholas had in his entirety. But together these two were so incredibly hot together. The sex scenes were particularly steamy.

I loved the fact that I was hooked in every way with this book, especially when I am easily distracted, but in this case it was the book that distracted me from every other aspect of my life. In other words, I just couldn't put it down.

This was my first book from Emma Chase and I have to say I am incredibly impressed with her talent in telling a story and creating such memorable characters that I am 100% certain it won't be my last.

Charming, handsome, with an unabashedly wicked sense of humor, Prince Nicholas most definitely checks all the boxes of any girl’s knight in shining armor by today’s standards.

Olivia was an exceptional heroine. She gave the naughty prince a run for his money while holding steadfast on to her pride and self preservation. These two were the perfect match indeed.

Royally Screwed was royally wonderful! A modern day fairy tale full of classic humor and quintessential romance, RS was the perfect read for this incurable romantic and will certainly please even the most skeptic of book lovers.

YAY! I've been waiting for Emma Chase to write a new series and I absolutely fell in love with this one. The writing was clever and just as funny as every other book I've read of hers.
If you are new to Emma Chase, I hope you give her and this book a chance. If you love it, go back and read her other books, they are all equally fun and addicting to read.
Can't wait for the next book to come out - well done on this new series.

Well done, Emma...another great book!! You are one of my favourite authors. Often I couldn't tell you the characters names 5 minutes after finishing a book but you had me hooked with Drew & Kate and the gang in your first book. I loved the characters in Royally Screwed. You made me laugh, you made me cry and there was just the right amount of sexy fun. All ready to start on book 2.

Emma Chase can do no wrong!!! Every single novel she writes captivates me from the start and this is no exception!
When I went into this novel, I was so confident that I would end up falling in love with it. What I did not expect was how much I would fall in love with it. I may even go as far to say, that Royally Screwed may be my favourite Emma Chase novel to date!
This novel has everything a good romance novel should! It had beautifully written characters, an engaging plot, romance as well as passion.
If you are going to pick up any novel, I urge you to pick Royally Screwed!

Oh my! I've got to say I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did! It was a true romcom, Nicholas had me laughing out loud, he was the perfect mix of gentleman and bad bad bad boy, I couldn't get enough of him. Olivia was just adorable, with a tough edge that really made me want her to get her HEA. Told in dual POV, the writing was spot on with the right mix of sex, romance, angst and heartache, with supporting characters that made the storyline even more interesting. It's been a while since I've read a book in one sitting, well worth it though. I can't wait for Henry's story.

Yet, again Ms Chase nailed the male POV! I loved Nicholas, his voice, his interactions others, his witty and his the so sexy way about him.

The first meeting between Nicholas and Olivia is an interesting one… I will say I liked Nicholas much better the next day and feel in love with him in the days that followed.

Royally Screwed takes an engaging look at the life of responsibility, of how you feel with decisions and well really your life’s course is being pre-determined for you.
I love that this was the focus instead of the superficial look at wealth and privilege.

Olivia’s re-watching Nicholas during at a tragic event in the family’s past (thanks to the internet of a prince who was followed around since birth) was a powerful look into of the weight both Nicholas and Henry (his younger brother) bear.

Speaking of family Nicholas’ grandmother the Queen will elicit so many emotions from you, this part was so well done! She was stern as you would expect but also tender as she tries to keep her husband as apart of her life and so real she reminds people she too had suffered deep loss (loss some might now have recovered from)

It was beautiful to witness Nicholas and Olivia getting to know each other, getting to explore how they could possibility fit into each others lives when the odds seem so stacked against them.

I won’t tell you why or how but I will send in the end I loved Nicholas even more!

I am so excited for the story of Prince Henry and to explore the pain behind this man’s smile. I was sucked into from almost the moment he stepped onto the page and my heart grabbed onto to him as he shared more with his brother and Olivia.

Royally Matches is a must read for me!

Thank you, Ms Chase for another cast of characters to love and another series to add to my to read list!

ps I do hope we get to learn how Franny and Simon came together. In Royally Screwed the reader sees them as Nicholas’ married best friend and spouse. I can’t remember the last time I love a secondary character and her use in a story as much as I loved Franny. When she finds the courage to share her story with Olivia I was riveted.

I loved this book! There was a moment about half way through that I was afraid it was going to start lagging but no.It is for the most part just what I want from my romance books. The only thing, is I wish there was more steam. That being said, the book actually had a great story to it It didn't rely on sex to carry it all the way through. And what girl doesn't like a love story involving a prince?! I need Emma Chase to write many many more in this series. 10 out of 10, would recommend.

What a great read! I was hooked from the start and I just couldn't put the book down. The interactions between Nicholas and Olivia were very entertaining. Even though Nick was an ass towards Olivia he definitely redeemed himself when he declared his love towards Olivia and showed her how much she means to him. Royally Screwed is a must read and I can't wait until Royally Matched is released so I can read Henry's story.

I usually love Emma Chase. "Appealed" is one of my favorites! First rant: the country of Wessco sounds more like a multinational corporation that has shipping, tampons and routers. Second rant: the requirement that Nicholas marry a blue-blood and virgin seems archaic, especially for a non-figure head monarchy. Think Kate Middtleton, Princess Grace, Queen Noor. Couldn't it just be that Nicholas doesn't want to be King and Olivia doesn't want to be Queen? Had a hard time getting into the characters.

To say that Royally Screwed was amazing wasn’t going to cut it. For the second time this year, I needed a word stronger than what it implied because Royally Screwed was just that—it stood out on a much grander scale of things only The Queen of RomCom can magically pen. It was gloriously loaded with all things royalty, primed to royal perfection, and brimming with emotions—all ugly and truly beautiful.

Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook is Wessco’s Royal Hotness. Apart from being next in line to rule the kingdom, he’s also every royalty should be like—poised, responsible, confident, intelligent and hot. That’s him in the public eye. What the public doesn’t know is that he’s a prince who has dirty, wicked thoughts, quick-witted and flawed. He’s dearly charming and well-loved by people all the same though. Well, that was until he went to New York to escape The Queen’s command to marry him off in about five months, drunk and met the equally headstrong and independent, pie baker and coffee shop owner, Olivia Hammond who didn’t have any clue about nor cared who he was.

Olivia Hammond is the epitome of a good person. After her mother died and her father took the toll of her mom’s death, being the eldest of the two girls, she worked hard to keep her family afloat. But even doing that didn’t seem to be enough. Then here came a d-bag of a prince who gave her one look and propositioned her for money for a night with him. But that’s not who she was nor she’d let herself be put down that way by some prince she didn’t know about. Even when she knew that would help her pay the endless bills she have no choice but to pay.

After sharing one bone-searing kiss and the promise of fun and pleasure for five months outside the premise of responsibilities, Nicholas and Olivia embarked on a adventure neither of them couldn’t let go of. Until it was time to let go.

My. Gosh!! How could Emma possibly craft another perfect story after writing a number of perfectly-written ones was unfreakingbelievable?! It was downright insane! Because this book was beyond what I expected of her and shaken me to my core. You got a taste of her writing corporate romances, you will be blown away with her expertise in creating an entirely different world! And what an outstanding world that was! It was like being transported to a whole new world where everything seems so golden, elite, strict, aristocratic and full of blue-blooded people.

Prince Nicholas was one of those blue-blooded people. And he was totally enamored by Olivia’s attitude to stand on her ground. Nicholas was not so hard to love just like any Emma Chase’s character (uhm, well, except for Stanton from Overruled maybe) because apart from his royal duties in the palace, he’s that character that you’d want to have HEA with someone worthy. Picked from his own choice. Not by Queen’s orders. I can’t help but to empathize with Nicholas’s helplessness because he was really perfect for Olivia. They shared the same things but on different level. And that made me root for him even more.

Different level, how, though? Olivia was a freaking commoner but add in a poor to the commoner and you know it’s a big fat no way to the Queen. But Olivia saw the real Nicholas behind his royal armor that nobody knew about and it was downright incredible. It was like finding something you didn’t expect you needed and the moment you found it, you hold on tight and never let it go.

Nicholas and Olivia’s relationship wasn’t easy given the dynamic of their situation but let me tell you that those moments they were together when they’re not busy doing each other? The getting-to-know-me-and-you part? It was believable, flawless and heartwarming. The chemistry was deliciously heated. But blend in the looming deadline over their heads and secrets and lies waiting to be unravelled and you’ve got yourself another Emma Chase book you wouldn’t be able to put down. I lost count on how many times I felt everything—from the exquisitely-written panty-melting scenes to the equally heart-melting moments, I swear I cried because of too much happiness and sadness I felt for each characters, primary and secondary. I cheered Nicholas and Olivia on. I laughed when they bantered so easily. I cried during the hard times. And I certainly felt the overflowing, captivating love they’ve got for each other.

Royally Screwed brought the epic grandeur and reality of monarchy in the way only Emma Chase can slay uniquely without losing her touch of romance and comedy. It carefully perfected the modern fairy tale plot with her own brand of smut, blended with hope, courage and amazing love—love that wins—without going over the top. Royally Screwed was utterly, undoubtedly stupendous in all its royal splendor, you can’t pass it up whether you’re an avid Emma Chase fan or an Emma Chase virgin.

Bonus? A couple that I loved from her other books got to have a surprise appearance I didn’t saw coming! And it just made me miss them even more! Ugh, thanks Emma.

Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Olivia Hammond have a lot in common. They were each dealt a really sh$@ty deck and knew early on they weren't destined to marry a prince. Their unfortunate lot in life has cursed them to a fate peppered with moments of happiness before it's all snatched away. Once upon a time, they each came to find themselves immersed within the opulence behind the palace walls with a prince in their sights and a stoic old woman threatening to tear it all away. While the road to happily ever after isn't without its hardships, its thorns, its poison for any of these heroines, Olivia Hammond's fairy tale just might be the fairest of them all.

I have a secret obsession: the real life royal family. As an American, I've spent my whole life intrigued by a centuries old family holding court over the land. It's so foreign to me, this idea of lavish palaces housing generations of history, princesses birthing chubby heirs that'll someday be kings, the whole practice of coronations and opulent weddings, dukes and duchesses, crown jewels, marble tombs where dead ancestors are buried beneath wings of your house... it's all just so fascinating to me. Equally fascinating is the way Emma Chase crafts a book. Her storytelling, the voice she gives her characters, there's an effortless ease in which she writes and it captivates me every single time. I'm a moth to a flame. So, quite obviously, Emma Chase writing a royal romance around a sexy, sharp tongued Prince... well, I'm in heaven.

Royally Screwed is the anti fairy tale. A common girl meets a royal prince and an epic romance ensues. But time is running out. On order of the queen, Prince Nicholas of Wessco is bound to wed in a few short months and his bride must fit the royal criteria under the law, of which Olivia does not. It's both romantic and tragic, this idea of spending the only time they have together even knowing it won't last, knowing they're doomed to heartbreak.

Royally Screwed is so different from anything Emma Chase has ever written before and I loved it just as much but in such different ways. Packed full of witty banter and perfectly timed humor, Royally Screwed is sweet and sexy and angsty, funny but unexpectedly heavy as well. I laughed, I cried, I felt things I so rarely feel in books. Theoretically, when you read a romance novel, I think it should read as if the author literally holds your heart in their hands. With each turn of the page, the author fills it, squeezes it, cracks it open, mends it, breaks it, soothes it, makes it soar. It's so rare, for me, to find an author who reaches inside and grips my heart with her words anymore. But Emma Chase did precisely that, stealing my heart and my breath with her delicious, swoony prince and his beautiful commoner. This story exemplifies why fairy tales exist; to give you hope and joy and to remind you what's possible and magical and extraordinary in an ordinary world. Royally Screwed is all of those things; magical, extraordinarily romantic, and wholly unforgettable. I can't wait to re-read.

I discovered Emma Chase near the beginning of 2016 and she became an immediate favorite of mine. Her typical books are all male POV and she does an amazing job. Royally screwed is the first book of hers I have read that is dual POV! Chase's books are always the right balance of smart, funny, and heartwarming. Her characters are dynamic and the plot is engaging. I always know I will finish an Emma Chase book with a smile on my face, and Royally Screwed was no exception!

Nicholas is not always a pompous ass. Don't get me wrong, there are times when he totally is an ass. But, there were scenes that made me cry because he was so thoughtful
The first one being when his parents died and his brother broke down. Nicholas swooped in and took care of Henry.
. I liked Olivia as well. She really is the quintessential down on your luck girl. Stuck in her home town, barely surviving, and on the brink of losing everything. She is carrying the burden of her family's financial problems alone and with bill collectors all but attacking her for money, she is nearly sunk. I was also pleased to see that while she could have easily taken money from Nicholas, she wouldn't. That would have caused an odd power shift between the two. Olivia is kind of your 'every girl'. You know, she is just so normal. She has family shame, she is super broke, she is stuck in a life that she doesn't love, and she dreams of more. Its impossible to not love her almost instantly.

I also fell in love with Prince Henry, Nicolas' brother. I can't wait for his story! He tries to be the party prince, but its all to mask this terrible pain. Even though he wasn't the center of this book, you get to know him rather well.

While you can see the obvious conflict of the story coming, Chase did a great job of creating the tension and still throwing in a curve ball. Royally Screwed seems predictable on its face, but what Chase does with her writing is make you still care so much, you can't stop reading. I loved the allusions scattered throughout the book! They made me smile! I also loved the cameo by my FAVORITE Emma Chase characters, Mason and Kennedy! And I am pretty sure in the beginning there is an allusion to Genovia...isn't that from the Princess Diaries? Love it!

Loved this laugh-out-loud page turner! For a prince, Nicholas is really down to earth trying to walk the fine line between responsibility and desire. I also admire Olivia's integrity. Nicholas' offer would have solved all of her financial problems but she refused and surprisingly earned his respect instead. But Olivia is a commoner and the Queen is not about to let "love" get in the way of royal business.

It's an easy read, mostly predictable but with Emma's entertaining writing, I was sucked right into this story. Don't know why I waited so long to read it. Can't wait to watch the movie! Absolutely my thing <3

"I love you, Olivia. I don’t need a kingdom—if you’re beside me, I already have the whole world.”

What a fun romance. Plenty of characters to keep you entertained. There were laughs and tears involved. As well as one or two frustrating (with the characters) scenes. Was hard to put down. Reads quickly. Gave a few hints into the love interests in the future books of the series. There are some F-bombs thrown in and some sexual content, but nothing too extreme in either cases. Looking forward to reading more about this royal family! :)

Royally Screwed by Emma Chase is filled with humor, a naughty prince, and some serious wicked banter.

Our royal hero is arrogant and charming, but it works for him. Olivia is strong, sassy, and not ready to bow down to Nicholas. Olivia is unlike the other women he knows and it throws him for a loop. He needs to pick a wife from the suitable list of women fit for royalty and Olivia is so far from that list, it’s funny. Too bad, the heart wants what it wants and Nicholas isn’t ready to let Olivia go. I could go on, but this is one book you’ll have to read on your own…no review will ever do it justice!

This is the first in Chase’s new series and I am already anticipating her next book in the series. Highly recommended from Jennifer for MNP!!!
